A Journey That Changed The World
Chapter 1366 1366: They Are Death MachinesTeuila was sitting on a bench that was opposite the field where Archer was using his magic to dig graves for the Aquarian villagers. She watched as the man she loved buried all one hundred and thirty people.
As she sat there, her mind wandered, absorbing the surreal scene before her. ‘A king burying the dead?’ she mused silently. ‘Who could have imagined such a thing would come to pass in my lifetime?’
Archer spent hours making sure her people were respectfully put to rest, which made her heart race while muttering. ”So many have the wrong idea about you, but here you are, burying strangers you never knew, when most would have let them rot away.”
Following that, Teuila glanced around the ransacked village that was now just a memory and she remembered this place fondly. When she was a little girl, her family passed through her from the main port city further east.
‘It was so full of life, but now it’s dead,’ she mused. ‘I remember the people lining up to see us.’
While doing that, Sera reappeared in the distance as explosions erupted around the naughty redhead. Teuila jumped up as he appeared beside her. ”What trouble has she got into now?” he asked with a chuckle.
”You never know with this gremlin,” she answered with a giggle. ”She’s always up to something.”
Archer couldn’t help but laugh with the blue-haired beauty. Moments later, Sera landed with a big smile as she revealed. ”We have an Alliance army rushing toward the village. I think their scouts must have spotted us.”
”Good,” he replied while summoning one hundred Oathkeepers.
The two women stepped back as rows upon rows of black armored knights exited the violet portal. Thalion appeared and knelt in front of him as his deep voice sounded out. ”My Lord. Is there something we can do for you?”
Archer pointed north before speaking. ”Form a shieldwall on the other side of the bridge and stop the Alliance from getting past while I kidnap the commanders.”
Teuila’s eyes widened in shock when hearing this, a worried expression appeared as she asked. ”Won’t it be too dangerous for you to go behind enemy lines?”
Without answering, he shifted into his Shadow Princes form, this shocked the duo. Sera exclaimed. ”Oh, you have a third form! I remember now.”
Archer nodded. ”Yes, but I don’t use it much. It’s perfect for these situations,” he revealed with an eerie smirk.
Following that, he sank into he shadows leaving the two women alone in the village as the Oathkeepers prepared to block the Alliance getting closer. Teuila rushed up to the riverside, which gave them a perfect view of the pending battle.
Sera joined her and asked curiously. ”Do you think the giant knights can hold out against that army?”
What they were looking at was ten thousand enemy soldiers marching toward them, but Teuila nodded with a confident expression. ”Yes, they are death machines that Leira and Nefertiti created. I’ve seen them take on an army back on Avidia; it was amazing.”
The dragon woman got excited as she pulled out some chairs along with some ale and started drinking as the Alliance closed in. While the two watched, Archer traveled through the darkness to avoid the enemy mages.
He unleashed his Shadow Creatures, dispatching them to abduct the commanders hidden among the rank and file. The enemy soldiers erupted into panic, yet their advance didn’t stop.
After that, Archer emerged from the general’s shadow, only to recognize him as an Avalon General he’d glimpsed years ago in Osoric’s palace. A grin spread across his face as he materialized in the heart of the group, startling their mounts.
With a wave, he cast Cosmic Shield, ensnaring the entire command structure of the Alliance army. The Avalonian panicked, but his clawed hand shot out and grabbed the man by the throat.
”So you betrayed the imperial family for the Church of Light, I see,” he growled in an eerie voice. ”Now let’s leave a reminder to the Pope.”
This caused the enemy general to tremble in fear as all the men around him vanished into the shadow below them. Moments later, Archer appeared next to Teuila and Sera before creating crucifixes all along the river.
In a clash that shook the heavens, the Oathkeepers unleashed a thunderous roar as the enemy horde crashed against their shieldwall. Amid the chaos, Thalion thrust his sword skyward and bellowed with a voice that could split mountains. ”FOR THE KING!”
Archer’s knights, forged in the fires of battle, answered with a relentless storm of steel, their blades carving deadly crescents through the ranks of the Alliance soldiers. Crimson torrents sprayed across the battlefield, painting the air with the price of defiance.
From the sidelines, two women watched, their eyes widening to saucers while seeing the battle unfolding as their lovers warriors surged forward even though the foe outnumbered them tenfold.
While this happened, Archer pulled out the Avalonian General, revealed it to the women. ”This man betrayed Leira and her family and serves the Pope now. Does he deserve mercy girls?”
”No!” Sera exclaimed.
Teuila shook her head with a determined expression. ”For what they did to the children? Make it painful, my love.”
Archer’s smile stretched into a wicked grin as he hurled the man to the ground, his claws emerging with a menacing glint that deepened the general’s terror. In a low whisper, he demanded, ”Who ordered the slaughter of the villagers?”
The man quaked at the question, his fear driving him to rip off his shirt in a frantic gesture. Before the general could react, his claws sank into the enemy’s arm, peeling back a strip of flesh with ruthless precision.
Blood sprayed in chaotic arcs as the general’s screams filled the air, ignored as he continued his grim work without a flicker of mercy. Ten minutes later, Archer had removed most of the skin on the Avalonians arm.
He was covered in blood, but it didn’t bother him as he gave the trembling man a knowing smirk. ”Remember the children your soldiers butchered? Let me confirm what I already know.”
Archer cast Soul Eater and went through the man’s memories only to realize it was him who ordered the troops to attack the village. But there was one scene that caught his interest and sent his rage skyrocketing at the same time.
”Father, you’ve joined the Pope?” he growled. ”Now I’ll kill you. Should have took the chance to live a quiet life.”
When Teuila and Sera felt his emotions swirling, the two women acted quickly and reassured him as the Aquarian Princess sweetly said. ”Remember, we’re your family now, Arch. Some of us are even pregnant, and that is a blessing in this chaotic time.”
Following that, Archer skinned most of the Avalonian General and strung him on the nearest crucifixe. This would allow all the Alliance soldiers to see as the man’s cries echoed out, prompting everyone to look.
As the enemy took their eyes off the Oathkeepers, the giant knights carved through them like a hot knife cutting butter. While this happened, he continued punishing the generals as they deserved such a fate.
By the time Archer was done, thirty Alliance commanders were crucified while half-skinned, which inflicted mind-numbing pain on the child killers. Once he was finished, he summoned an army of Broodmaws.
The mantis-like monsters rushed into battle before jumping over the Oathkeepers’ heads. Teuila was happy as she nodded in agreement. ”They are scum my love, who hurts defenceless children?”
Archer shrugged. ”Some people just don’t care, Teu. Unlike Draconia, where the young are cherished as the future and nurtured to thrive, the Alliance views the neutral kingdoms as little more than beasts,” he said, letting out a weary sigh.
The blue-haired beauty beside him offered a gentle smile, her hand brushing his arm in quiet reassurance. ”I’ve seen the difference it makes. The Draconian children are flourishing alongside their families.”
”Yes!” Sera burst out, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. ”We’re all so proud of the man you’ve become, Arch. Who could’ve guessed that wild, reckless boy would grow into one of the most compassionate men I’ve ever known? Anyone else might mistake you for a big softy.”
She flashed him a teasing grin, her pride unmistakable. Archer chuckled before leaning over and kissing the two women before turning back to the battle as the Oathkeepers and Broodmaws tore the Alliance army apart.
Once the fight was over, he ordered the monsters to take the bodies into the Domain until he sent mana across the crucified commanders that would stop them from being messed with when more soldiers arrived.
Following that, Sera giggled as she commented. ”The screams are going to horrify the Alliance reinforcements.”
”Yes, they will, and that’s the point,” Archer answered while sending the knights and monsters back to the Domain. ”If the Emperor doesn’t stop killing innocent people, I will butcher more of their commanders.”
