Chapter 1876: Heading To The Dawson Manor
Boom! Bam! Bang!
“Fuck! Don’t come close!”
“Y… yo…”
Alice almost wanted to facepalm at the sight of Klaus and Reynolds fighting. If anyone came here and saw the intensity at which the duo were exchanging moves, they would genuinely think the duo were enemies. Reynolds, while shouting for Klaus’ life attacked relentlessly while Klaus defended as he cursed out. She wanted to stop the duo, but after the battle she just took part in, she did not have that energy, besides, it was not like the duo would really kill each other, so there was nothing to be worried about.
Forgetting about them, she sat down cross-legged while trying to recover her lost strength. What she was even more concerned about was the situation of her Seelie. The Seelie had to stop all three Ninth stage Puppets attacks, and it was not strong enough to even handle a single Eighth stage Puppet, much less three in the Ninth stage, if not for its great defensive ability, the Seelie might not have been able to make it out of that clash alive.
Ten minutes later.
Reynolds and Klaus both have a hand across the other’s shoulder while trying to catch their breaths, it was clear to see that they were both exhausted from the fight. They were both in a disheveled state, but their smiles were very wide.
“Looks like I don’t need to worry about you anymore.” Klaus said as they walked over to the place Alice was recuperating.
“Have I ever needed you to worry about me?” Reynolds glared at Klaus.
With a chuckle, Klaus pointed at the forest, his message clear.
“Just because you helped us this time does not mean we needed your help.” Reynolds snorted, trying to hide his embarrassment. He just told Klaus he did not need his help, when if not for Klaus’ help a few minutes ago, they would have not been able to easily get out of their predicament; that is if they can.
“I saved your life, you should be grateful.”
Of course Klaus did not really need Reynolds’ gratitude, even if Reynolds did not speak about it, he knew that he was grateful for his help.
“Humph!” Reynolds walked over to where Alice was recuperating and sat down, not wanting to continue the conversation with Klaus. If Klaus did not help them he could still win, but now, Klaus had the complete advantage. Even when he did not, he would still usually come out on top whenever they gave such arguments, much less now that he has a valid point that is not even thirty minutes old.
Klaus was delighted seeing Reynolds unable to talk back, he looked at Alice, seeing that she still needed some time, he said before heading out the City gate, “I’ll watch over you guys, you should also try to restore your strength, we don’t know if more are close by.”
Reynolds did not argue with him since he knew it was the truth. When they came to this City the previous day, they did not find anyone here, it was clear that it had been destroyed from a fight some time ago. They decided to rest there and wait for Klaus, only for these Gnomes to show up about an hour ago. They did not have the chance to escape before they were surrounded, with no other option, they were forced to fight.
Like Alice, Reynolds also needed to recover some of his strength, although he had a small bout with Klaus, they did not really use their full strength, they did not have any intention of hurting one another, just tasting each other out to see how much they have grown.
A few hours went by in a blink before the duo finished their recuperation.
Klaus returned when he sensed they were active. He told them of his intention to head to the Dawson Family Manor to inquire about Grey’s whereabouts. The duo had no issues with this since they too wanted to be sure Grey was safe. Coming to a conclusion, there was no need to stay in this City again, and they knew there was a chance more Gnomes might come here. As they started their journey, they spoke about what they had seen while coming here.
The Gnomes might not have come out in large numbers with their attacks, but in the span of a few months since the invasion started, they have destroyed multiple Cities and Towns, killing thousands of humans in their wake. Although humans are fighting back, they are not as powerful as the Gnomes who can seemingly bring back a dead human expert, hence the reason most humans self-destruct if they know they will not be able to survive the attack.
….
While Klaus and the others were rushing to the Dawson Manor in hopes of getting news concerning Grey, the entire Continent was in a state of chaos. Everyone is well aware of the Gnomes’ invasion, and those who were not aware a few years ago are now aware.
The top Forces in the Continent have all come together to try to see how they could fight against the Gnomes. What they can not understand is how the Gnomes have been able to open up more passages from their World to the Aurora Continent. The number of passages destroyed by these top Forces is already close to a hundred, this is not adding the ones people like Klaus, Grey’s parents, and other top experts have destroyed, yet the Gnomes are not reducing, rather, they are growing in numbers.
Even with Grey and his father taking out Necromancers when they opened the God’s Tomb, there are still a lot of Necromancers who did not enter the God’s Tomb. Now that the Gnomes have started their invasion, one of their biggest help has been Necromancers. One of the top ten Factions in the Aurora Continent betrayed humans during one of the fights against the Gnomes, causing them to suffer a huge loss. Five Peak Sovereigns died during that mission, and even a Half God Plane expert who was around them suffered serious injuries.
Now even when humans want rot gather, they find it hard to trust each other after what happened with that Faction. The Faction was not even a Darkness Elemental dominated Faction, but the top experts were all Necromancers, hiding the fact that they had the darkness element from others for hundreds of years now.
….
A few days went by in a flash.
Klaus and the others did not delay, rushing to the Dawson Manor as soon as they could. On the way there, they saw a few Gnomes on the way, and with their current strengths, unless there were more than three Eighth or Ninth stage Sovereigns, they can easily deal with any other group they find, and during their trip, they only encountered a group of Gnomes that had just one Ninth stage Sovereign, one Eighth stage Sovereign and a few Seventh stage Sovereigns.
When they saw this group of Gnomes, some humans had already engaged them in battle, without any questions, they too joined the fight, helping the humans kill off all the Gnomes.
After a few battles, they soon got to the Dawson Family Territory, and from about two hundred kilometers before even getting there, they stopped seeing any signs of Gnomes activity. This naturally surprised them, but after getting to the City the Dawson Family was situated, they understood why. Lucas Dawson led a group and cleared a three hundred kilometers radius of their territory.
Klaus and the others were stunned at the efficiency of Grey’s father. Being able to clean an area of two hundred kilometers was mindblogging.
They could not help but wonder just how powerful Lucas Dawson is. They all knew he was a top expert and even a Half God Plane expert himself, but they did not know just how strong he was, neither did Grey. So hearing these things about him made them a little curious about his true strength. Now they understood why Grey was so overpowered. If his father is this powerful, they could not help but imagine how powerful Grey will be once he gets to the same stage. All three of them knew that compared to his father, Grey is even more freakish. Grey can not only manipulate all elements, but against the Gnomes, he has a way of suppressing them. This was also one of the reasons Klaus was searching for Grey. He knew that if Grey were around, they would have an easier time locating these Gnomes.
Getting to the Dawson Manor, they were not stopped at the gate. The guards in the Dawson Manor knew Grey and his friends, so they knew not to stop them. Only ensuring they informed the top people in the Manor about their presence, especially since Grey was not there.
The group were led to Grey’s parents building where Grey’s mother was present.
