Chapter 1882: To The Toad Clan Territory II
Dragon’s Mountain.
It was time for the group to head out. Grey was standing with the seven Dragons he would be leaving with, while Sir Astarot and the others were gathered, all prepared to leave. The Snake Clan Leader did not attract Grey’s attention, he had seen a lot of Snakes since he started his journey as an Elementalist, facing a few even. Phoenixes, however, were a rare sight, even though he saw a few birds from the Phoenix Clan during the meeting a year ago, it was always amazing facing these majestic birds. He could not help but stare a little longer, attracting the gaze of the Phoenix Clan Leader.
The Phoenix Clan Leader was a fiery red in color, and its long tail gave everyone the feeling they were on fire. The fiery long tails of Phoenixes have always been synonymous to them.
Grey’s insistent gaze alerted the Phoenix Clan Leader. Seeing Grey, it asked with curiosity evident in its voice, “This must be the human you allowed to train with our kind?”
Sir Astarot nodded, “Indeed, he is the one. He is also the one who discovered the invaders.”
“His blood essence is different from ordinary.” The Phoenix Clan Leader said, shock evident in its voice. When it tried to inspect Grey, it sensed just how amazing Grey’s blood essence is. It was even better than the blood essence of some Magical Beasts, which is hard to imagine. The quality of one’s blood essence is closely related to their physical bodies. Magical Beasts are generally regarded as the best in terms of body cultivation, which made their blood essence shockingly powerful. They could all tell that Grey’s current situation is quite strange.
Sir Astarot chuckled and explained, “That is thanks to Dragon’s blood.”
Sir Astarot wore a proud expression as he said this. Before Grey left, even though he sensed how special Grey is, it was not to this level. In only a year, he could not help but wonder what Grey experienced in the secret world, one thing he is certain of is that none of this would be possible if Grey never refined Dragon Blood Essence. Grey’s powerful blood essence was not as noticable from a distance in the past as it is now, which is a testament of just how much it has grown. There is even a hint of him giving off a primordial aura, which was only seen on Magical Beasts like Dragons and the rest of the old top Clans.
The Phoenix Clan Leader took another look at Grey, curious as to how he would show this much change after only refining the blood essence of Dragons. Yes, it did not look down on dragons, but knowing them, unless he is someone special, it was impossible for them to allow him to refine their blood essence. Like Phoenixes, only when they see someone with enough potential do they even open up to seeing them. Dragons are also the same.
Grey did not concern himself with the Phoenix Clan Leader, or what Sir Astarot and the others had planned out. With his current strength, he was a little bit confident that he could escape if he was betrayed in the end. This is one of the perks he has as a somewhat paranoid person. Due to his paranoia, he always tries to ensure that he was certain of his safety whenever doing things like these, even though he trusted the Dragons, he still had to make sure his life was in his hands and not theirs.
Even though he was the weakest in his party, none of the others dared to slight him. First of all, he was placed in charge by Sir Astarot, a Dragon regarded as their leader. Not just that, but they have also experienced just how slippery Grey was. During the past few hours, they naturally had to meet with Grey for a few things, and in those moments, one of the Ninth stage Sovereigns tested him. The outcome of the test ended with a Ninth stage Sovereign embarrassing itself before a Seventh stage Sovereign, which showed the other Dragons not to mess with Grey.
Magical Beasts have always seen themselves above humans in the same cultivation stage, much less one that is below them. However, the outcome of Grey and the previous Ninth stage Sovereign showed them all they needed.
….
The Inner Court.
Grey and his party set off from Dragon’s Mountain, before Sir Astarot and the others. They were the weaker ones, so it was normal for them to be the first to leave the gathering. Sir Astarot and the others will catch up to them while they were facing the Necromancers. Of course, this was if the Toad Clan had nothing to do with the Necromancers in their territory.
The Dragons following Grey did not make a fuss when they saw him take the lead, after all, they were already aware of this. This was not the case for the other Dragons who were not aware of what was happening. Most of them questioned what Grey was doing there and why some top experts were mobilized. Sir Astarot did not have any reason to give them an explanation, so he did not bother to explain to them what was happening, only warning them not to leave Dragon’s Mountain for anything.
Grey was the one who cared less about what was happening in Dragon’s Mountain, all he wanted to do was to leave the Inner Court and return to his family. He has already been here for over a year now, the longer he stayed here, the more he wanted to leave.
Being a human with powerful blood essence made things harder for him. Most of the Magical Beasts he met while here were always interested in him due to his uniqueness. There was no way for him to avoid all of them, but he has been able to dodge giving them any answers to their questions.
