With Ki'rai back everything seemed to return to its usual state. I woke up early, did my daily routine, and brought her the food from the cafeteria, but she didn't seem to feel well. I immediately thought about all the stuff she ate yesterday, which made me laugh a bit.

I ended up using 'Cleansing' on her, and to my surprise, it helped. She still didn't want to eat though, which was more than fine with me, as I could enjoy the food myself. After that, I did the usual preparations on my return from the cafeteria, where I needed to return the bowl.

We shadow walked to the lizardfolk settlement, as I wanted to test the difference my new skills would make in my mental defenses. There was a bit of change. Not as much as I would like it to be, but still. I was slowly making progress with that matter, which was enough.

I also tested the 'Telekinesis' it wasn't useful at all during the fight, mainly because it was too weak to make any difference, but also because it was hard to use when I had to focus on so many other things. I didn't have to band down to pick up stuff from the floor though.

After dealing with the boss, we sold the score, and traveled to the graveyard, to do just the same.

I bought some upgrades. I rose 'Focus', 'Power of mind', 'Telekinesis' to the fourth level, and completely ignored the 'Mind influence'. The name just didn't work for me. Fucking with other people's minds sounded disgusting to me.

With those upgrades, the next hunt was a bit easier, and soon the days merged with each other. A whole month passed without me even noticing. I only realized when Ki'rei informed me she has to return to report to her masters, and then left.

It was late evening, but I was feeling rather energetic, so I decided to use the time and focus on more upgrades, as I wasn't focusing on that for quite a while, and the points piled up.

I started by increasing 'Shadow fusion II' to the sixth level, which was the last. Then I went with rising all the 'Barrier maker' skills to the fifth level and maxing the class, and after I also increased my strength a thousand times. All of that was 193 946 500 points. Slightly less than I managed to earn through the month.

I felt much stronger. To the point that I was slowly starting to think about searching for new hunting grounds. I still needed to explore the ogre cave, but it was a freaking labyrinth, which meant that could take me weeks. The giants sounded way more interesting.

After two days of doing absolutely nothing, as I decided to take a break, Ki'rai returned, and she wasn't very happy.

- The time has passed, and you don't have even a single crystal prepared. My masters are worried. You broke the deal - she informed me as I found her in my room, after having breakfast.

- Yeah... I kinda forgot about that. Got too caught up with my own upgrades. Tell them that I need more time. Their research might take who knows how long, and we are here under a constant threat from The Great One. He can make another invasion happen even today. I didn't have enough time to think my words through when I was talking with Shu'ah Oot Atso Yeingem.

- They won't be happy about that. You shouldn't break your word, Peter - she warned me.

p - Look... I was put on the spot. If I had more time to think through the whole situation, I would have never agreed to such terms. First, we need to be safe here, then we can think of sparing the crystals. Tell your masters that they will get what I promised eventually. Maybe in a year or something...

She lowered her head for a moment, and then froze, thinking. Then she turned around and left, using the window.

- Hey! Wait...

- I need to report this - she replied, and that was all.

I thought for a moment what to do with this whole mess. I needed to tell Hatta, just in case, because there was a small chance of Xuvi making a radical move. I went to his office immediately. The guards informed me that he is in the middle of a meeting, but I ignored them. They couldn't stop me anyway.

I found him and Blue, sitting on the opposite sides of the desk.

- So I think we should expand and cover more territories... - Blue stopped talking, as he realized I'm behind him. - Hi, Peter.

- Hi.

- What brings you here? - Asked Hatta.

- Just wanted to check with you.

"I talked with Ki'rai just a moment ago. She went to inform Xuvi I'm not so keen on bringing them the crystals. Just wanted to let you know", I wrote in the air with void essence.

Both of them nodded.

- About what?

- Saw Blue's men outside, so wanted to tell you they returned - I lied.

- As you can see, you were too late - Blue smiled. - But since you are here I might as well tell you something I think you should be informed about. Your fangirl, Maia, is hunting with me. She was really persistent with her attempts to join us, so I let her in. This way I can have an eye on her.

I nodded slowly, unsure what to say. That could be him plotting something, or a genuine attempt to keep her in check.

- Thank you for the information, Peter - said Hatta. - We were just talking about Blue expanding his coverage of hunting grounds of the harpies' territory. What do you think?

- I think it's a dangerous place. They should manage as long as they don't approach the boss. Oh, and watch out for the ones that can throw fire.

- Thank you, Peter. - said Blue. - It's nice to see you finally warming up to me.

- I'm not, but there is no reason for your people to get more crystals. Unless you are plotting something.

He smiled.

- I'm not.

- It would be reassuring if I would trust you, but since I don't...

This made him laugh. I nodded to Hatta and then left. I went to my room, to sleep, but it took me a while to drift away.

The day came to an end with 9 148 400 points remaining on my account, and ninety-one class points.
