She eventually let go, and I did just the same.

- Tell me what happened.

She went and sat on my bed.

- I reported as usual. They told me to push you harder, so you would bring the crystals... - She was clearly sad while speaking about this. - Then I asked if I might live with you in the city, and become a hunter. I didn't gen my answer, and instead was put in prison. I learned about what they did as you showed up in the base. They wanted me to make you stop, but I refused. I was threatened, but I didn't betray you, so they even injected something into my body.

- She has nanobots in her system - I heard a voice in my head. - By the way, you really made a mess Peter. Now they are starting to prepare a way to kill you.

- What? - I said.

- I don't know - she replied.

- They convened the council. I knew this will end this way. - They sighed. - We will talk about this later. Now fix your little friend.

- Yeah... Uhm... I know how to check that. Come with me. Turn into a chicken for now...

She did just that. I grabbed her and ran straight to Hatta's office. He was fighting with papers as I burst inside.

- Is that her? - he immediately asked seeing the chicken in my hands.

- Yes. She needs to use the device. We cant do it in the open though.

- Why not?

- If we don't want an open conflict with Xuvi...

- We would anybody connect her to them? Nobody knows how they look, and she might just be an alien pulled her from whatever... Besides, something is telling me that it might be too late to concern ourselves with open conflict - hi rose one of his eyebrows looking at me.

- Yeah... Let's do just that.

- I'll handle people, you do what you need - He said, and immediately got out from behind his desk.

I put Ki'rai on the ground, and she transformed to her original form.

- We are going to go to the device. I'm sure a lot of people will be looking at you but ignore them. You need to check what's wrong with you before it starts working, and then we need to fix it.

She nodded. Then we walked outside, putting both guards in a state of astonishment, as they never before saw a creature like Ki'rai or any other alien. She was walking just beside me, holding my hand, and nervously looking around. This has gotten worse with more people looking at her.

It was already past time where hunters were occupying the city center. The day was nice, as any other under the dome. I noticed several individuals rushing about their business, and immediately stopping when their eyes caught her.

- People, please gather here! - Hatta shouted as I kept walking further. - We've been visited by another species, pulled to the city by the device! Please remain calm and friendly, as our new friend is very scared and shy. She has trouble with communication, but that problem will be solved soon with the help of the device...

His voice caught the attention of even more humans in the vicinity, and they all did what he said, still looking at her as they were getting closer to him, to listen. He had a long monologue, that slowly faded away as we made it furder from him, and closer to the sapling.

- Put your hand on it, and look for the status of your body. There should be what's wrong with you, and how much do we need to fix it - I whispered to her.

She nodded in silence and did what I asked. Her eyes closed the moment she touched the ball, but then her mouth opened in awe. I knew she wanted to do this for a long time. She wanted to become a true hunter and sell her own crystals to become stronger and stronger, just like everybody was doing in the city.

Her wish was granted, but just as they say, sometimes you should be careful what you are wishing for.

- So, how much do you need?

She opened her eyes and turned to look at me.

- Ten thousand points.

- Wait here, I'll be back in a second - I said, and shadow walked the anchor left close to the ogre cave.

I didn't have my weapon with me, but that didn't stop me from charging at the guards by the entrance. They noticed me, and rusted, ready to fight. I jumped in the air, and punched the first one, just as he was rising his hand. The second tried to smack me with his club, but I shadow walked behind him, in the air, and kicked him in the head so strong, that he died immediately.

The first one landed heavily on the ground, with his jaw broken, unconscious. I finished him quickly, picked both stones, and returned to my little lizard.

- Here. Put them on the symbol on the ground, and touch the ball again. Then fix your condition - I kneeled down and handed her both crystals.

She took them from me and did just what I said. Her mouth went open again, as she earned points for the first time. She spends few seconds like that, and then finally opened her eyes.

- I did it.

 - Good. Great - I said with a smile emerging on my face.

I was so damn proud of her, that I felt tears pushing their way to my eyes.

- Come. Let's eat something.

- Yes! - She said and jumped from the sheer joy.

I looked at Hatta, who was still talking with people. Many of them were looking our way. He actually stopped, seeing us going towards the cafeteria, and quickly joined us.

- I should tag along to explain everything to the people, so they won't swarm you.

- Thank you.

- Thank you Hatta - Ki'rai repeated.

Her words made him smile.. It's been a while since I saw him genuinely happy like that.
