When I regained consciousness I was swimming in a large tank with some mask on my face, providing me with oxygen. The light or the liquid had to be green because that's the color I saw around me.
Outside the container, it was quite dark, so I had no idea where I really, was, but I could see faint outlines of some mechanical equipment and other objects which could indicate some kind of laboratory.
The stream of gas constantly pomped from below to the inside of the tank was keeping me afloat. Otherwise, I would probably end up on the very bottom of it, as I couldn't really move any of my limbs.
But on the bright side, the right arm was still attached to my shoulder, and from the very tiny bit, I could see of it, seemed fine.
In such a state one could easily panic, but I wasn't. I kept rather calm, and just waited, but not for a terribly long time, as after maybe an hour or two my eyelids became quite heavy, and I just fell asleep.
Knocking on the glass woke me up. It was Bashan, with Druoag and Yagg further in now the bright interior of the laboratory I was kept in. There was also a bunch of other aliens.
It was much bigger than when I thought when I saw just the outlines in the shadows. There were many strange objects there, tables filled with equipment and glass containers filled with strange chemicals. Metal racks filled with ingredients, and several more tanks just like mine with other creatures floating peacefully inside.
Bashan said something to me, and I even could hear his muffled voice, but sadly couldn't understand the words of the language he used.
Then the glass tube surrounding me was risen up, and the liquid got spilled out, flowing down to the trench with a drain grate built in the floor, next to the tank. For a second I thought I was going to collapse, but I didn't. Yagg's psychic powers kept me held in place.
- Your hand is healed - he informed me. - You are still paralyzed by the drug, but they need to wash you up. The effect should start fading away in a few hours. We will be taking you to your apartment.
I wanted to respond, but I couldn't. All I could do was open my eyelids and move the eyes.
The scientist, medics, or whoever they were, brought a hovering bed and placed it next to me. The Calludin gently moved me and placed on it, and then I was taken to a place, where they submerged me in water, to then sprayed with it, to completely clean up.
I was then dressed, and on the same hovering board, brought outside the medical facility built in the massive complex I just fought in. I realized that when all four of us got to the roof. Yagg packed me to the flying vehicle, and boarded it himself, while both Bashan and Druoag got inside a different one. Bigger.
We landed next to the hotel, and I was taken all the way to my apartment by Yagg. He took me to my bedroom, and placed me on the bed, then left without a word. I actually was quite happy with that outcome, because his sheer presence was pissing me off. This whole mess was his fault and his people, who at this point were ridiculous with their whole revenge nonsense.
I really wanted to slap the shit out of him and make him apologize, but not only I couldn't speak at the moment, even if I could there were absolutely zero chances of me even touching such a powerful psionic without him allowing it, and he wouldn't do that. We already had a little clash before, and I lost it.
When I heard the door closing, I felt a bit more at ease, but I wasn't to left alone for too long, as AI soon announced to me:
- Incoming call from Druoag. Do you wish to accept?
Well... I would if I could, so the system was left pending for a moment before the connection was declined. My trainer had to figure out what was going, on since he didn't try that again. He didn't bother me for around two hours, and then tried calling for the second time, but the paralysis still didn't go away so I couldn't take it.
It took around an hour for it to start releasing my body from its effect. I started feeling this faint each all over my body, which was slowly getting more intense. After another hour I got the third call.
- Incoming call from Druoag. Do you wish to accept? - asked the AI.
- Yes - I responded since I finally could.
- Peter? - asked my trained with a voice clearly belonging to some translating device.
- Yes.
- How are you feeling, better?
- I'm almost not feeling at all. I can barely speak, and my whole body is itchy as hell.
- It will pass. Just wash as soon as you can and ask for a change of sheets in your bed. We had to put you inside the tube, to fix your hand properly.
- How long was I in there?
- Five days. It's a slow process to reattach the limb with such precision so it would work as well as it's supposed to, and Yagg didn't want to take any chances. He wants you in top condition as soon as possible.
I responded with a snort.
- I know how you feel, but he is really taking care of you - he argued.
- Yeah, sure...
He then sighed heavily.
- On a positive note you won, and people seemed to really like the fight overall. It was quite flashy with all the jumping and flying around.
- You mean the part when Sevva trashed me around the whole sandpit, and you kept shouting 'endure'?
He laughed.
- Yes, that part.
- Well... I didn't enjoy it as much as they did.
- But you won, and you can keep fighting, which is good. You should look at the bright side. You won one of the toughest fights you might have in the whole league, so from now on it should be easier, and you are now living quite comfortable life compared to what you had, with a good perspective on even better living conditions.
- I'll think about it when I will be able to actually move. Right now I can't, and it pisses me off.
- I noticed.
- Let's talk later. Oh, and Bashan will visit you tomorrow. Have a good rest.
- Yeah... Bye.
The call has ended, and I tried my best to just fall asleep, so the time would pass faster.
