Chapter 924: Frightening

There was finally some change on Donald’s face, but his annoyance only lasted for a moment. He thought about the fact that the three of them managed to destroy his five Alchemy Colossuses1 as soon as they attacked. Although it was just a small test, the strength of the team from the Tower of Dusk was definitely not to be belittled.
Donald looked at the team of the Tower of Dusk and the armored knights who were standing neatly. They all seemed to be close to the Legendary-level, while the mages who got into a strange formation were mostly level-18 and level-19 and near the Legendary-level, although there were also some Legendary-mages amongst them. The few of them seemed to be important figures who had Legendary-level abilities, and were not new to the Legendary-realm.
Despite having plenty of faith in his own team, Donald also knew that it would not be easy to take them down. More importantly, Donald could also see that the people from the Brilliance Shrine clearly had some relationship with the newly arrived team. If the two of them joined forces, it would cause a huge obstruction for the following plan of his team.
“It seems that you won’t be able to come up with the compensation. Alright then, I’ll give you another chance. You just need to compensate for the amount spent on repairing these Alchemy Colossuses. I can forgive you for entering here,” Donald said in a hostile tone. Although he made it sound like he was saving himself a lot of pride, he was actually displeased with being forced to make a concession.
Indeed, this time, he had made a great concession by making that request which turned the compensation amount from double the original to only the price of the materials needed for repairs. That was not just taking one step back. The compensation became a little more reasonable.
The most valuable part of something like the Alchemy Colossus was mainly the alchemical technology used in it. The value of those materials used in it still accounted for a relatively small portion of the overall value. Of course, those materials were still extremely expensive. However, they could at least still be found, unlike the technology used for the Alchemy Colossus, which was monopolized by the Rotterdam Kingdom.
However, even then, the materials used for creating the Alchemy Colossus were not something that just anyone could get their hands on. Moreover, everyone was there to explore the Sky Castle, and no one would bring those items for no reason. Clearly, even if the compensation conditions were reduced, he was obviously still trying to make things difficult for them.
Archbishop Martin frowned slightly, and immediately wanted to stand out to speak up for Lin Li. However, Prince Jeremiah had been thinking about how he could regain his pride. He naturally didn’t want to miss that opportunity, so he held Archbishop Martin back.
Seeing that Archbishop Martin glared at him, Jeremiah hurriedly whispered into his ear, “Wouldn’t it be better for us if their relationship becomes even more hostile!?”
Archbishop Martin was of course aware that that was not what Jeremiah really thought, but considering the relationship between the royal family of the Ledin Kingdom and the Brilliance Shrine, he had no choice but to bear with it for the time being.
Jeremiah was secretly happy about having convinced Archbishop Martin with one word of his. The materials of the Alchemy Colossuses were extremely expensive, and now that they were in the Sky Castle, he wanted to see what Felic would use to pay for it. He didn’t believe that Lin Li would bring those random materials with him to the Sky Castle.
However, what Jeremiah didn’t expect was that this time, Lin Li was very straightforward, and he directly said to Donald, “Sure, give me the list.”
The list of materials needed for repairs could be processed later. Actually, when they were speaking, the people of the Rotterdam had already calculated the damage done to the seven Alchemy Colossuses. After all, even if there was no compensation, they would still have to repair the Alchemy Colossuses themselves. It would be impossible to give up that combat power.
Donald waved to the person who was performing the calculations not too far away. Soon, that metallurgist from the Rotterdam scurried over, and handed over the list of repairs and materials to Lin Li. Donald did not take it at all. Instead, he pointed at Lin Li and arrogantly said, “Give it to him, he’ll be responsible for compensating for the repairs.”
Lin Li took a glance at the list and shoved it right back into the metallurgist’s hands. “No need for that trouble, I’ll send someone to fix them for you.”
“You’ll send someone to fix them?” Hearing Lin Li’s words, Donald and the metallurgist who had just arrived behaved as if they had heard a ridiculous story. Someone actually dared to say that they could repair the Alchemy Colossuses in front of the metallurgist from Rotterdam! That was the greatest joke they had ever heard so far.
Even Archbishop Martin and Jeremiah couldn’t believe their ears, let alone Donald. Although the Rotterdam had closed its borders, they were the strongest in alchemy in the entire Anril. It could be said that the Rotterdam Kingdom had alchemy as its foundation, and developed as civilization because of it. They had obtained the knowledge in alchemy passed down by the goblins, and after thousands of years of in-depth research, the Rotterdam Kingdom’s development of alchemy could be said to have reached the pinnacle of the world.
Yet, someone was nonchalantly saying that he could send someone over to repair those damaged Alchemy Colossuses. How could that be possible!? An Alchemy Colossus was not a child’s toy. It was the condensation of the entire alchemical civilization and the greatest manifestation of peak alchemy. Although the entire Rotterdam Kingdom had been developing alchemical civilization, those who could grasp the mysteriousness and amazing qualities of the Alchemy Colossuses were definitely few and far between, let alone those outside the kingdom.
However, Lin Li didn’t care about what they were thinking. Instead, he said to Angelano who was behind him, “Angelano, go settle the damaged Alchemy Colossuses.”
Although they did not believe that Lin Li could find someone who had the power to repair the Alchemy Colossuses, they were still a little curious as to whom Lin Li would call to do it. However, when they saw Angelano, they were instantly astonished.
He seemed to be the same height as dwarves, and he was clad in armor which also resembled the style of dwarves. However, no dwarf would dye their armor in such bright and fancy colors which made him look like he had spilled all the cans of different colors of paint. To be honest, the colorful look made others who looked at him feel dizzy, especially when he was moving.
A freak like that can fix the Alchemy Colossus? Donald felt like he had been fooled. However, he didn’t go out of his way to stop it, and instead watched how Lin Li was going to clear up the mess.
However, what made them vomit blood was that the shorty who was clad in a fancy suit was still complaining as he walked away. “What the hell? Is this an insult to me!? This is garbage that can’t even be considered a toy. The mere sight of it makes me want to vomit, yet you want me to fiddle with it?”
His words were unacceptable to the people of Rotterdam Kingdom, as the Alchemy Colossus was the manifestation of their essence of alchemy, yet it was insulted and being called trash that was incomparable to magic! That was a huge insult to the entire Rotterdam!
Donald restrained his displeasure, and questioned Lin Li, “Is this the person who can repair the Alchemy Colossuses? I don’t think that someone who disrespects alchemical civilization can master true alchemy.”
In fact, he was not wrong. Those who did not respect knowledge would never be able to grasp true knowledge.
However, Lin Li shook his head in denial, and indifferently said, “I think you’ve misunderstood. He’s not talking about alchemical civilization, but about your so-called alchemical civilization.”
“You!! Well, I’d like to see what rights you have to question our noble alchemical civilization!” After all, Donald still had some concerns, and did not really want to start a war with the Tower of Dusk. Although it was important to maintain his creed, the Sky Castle was his top priority at this moment.
At this time, Angelano had already arrived close to an Alchemy Colossus. A metallurgist from the Rotterdam Kingdom was standing beside it with folded arms, and watching Angelano coldly. He refused to believe that a clown like him would be able to repair the Alchemy Colossus.
Indeed, instead of carefully understanding the structure of the Alchemy Colossus and carefully analyzing the damaged parts as those metallurgists had imagined, Angelano took out some tools from nowhere, which gave the metallurgist a huge shock.
There was a crowbar that seemed like a short spear and a hammer that looked like one that was usually used by blacksmiths. Holding the two seemingly ridiculous tools, Angelano walked towards the destroyed Alchemy Colossus. Without looking too much at it, he started waving the tools in his hands.
Damn it, is this clown really a dwarf!? The metallurgists, who were initially looking at him coldly, immediately panicked when they saw that situation. They rushed forward and wanted to pull Angelano away from the Alchemy Colossus.
However, Angelano’s movements were not slow, and he directly swung the hammer in his hand, striking the Alchemy Colossus twice. Next, he held the crowbar with one hand, and thrust it into the Alchemy Colossus before prodding it. Some parts then fell off the Alchemy Colossus.
Seeing that, the metallurgists from the Rotterdam Kingdom were about to go crazy. They rushed forward in a bid to stop him while yelling, “Stop, stop, are you going to completely destroy this Alchemy Colossus!?”
What a joke. Although Angelano’s armor was a little ugly, it was still extremely powerful, and the metallurgists could not stop him at all. He waved his hand and flung the metallurgists far, far away. Without stopping, he smashed the hammer into the Alchemy Colossus.
“Stop!” A metallurgist was lying on the ground with his arms stretched out high, looking at Angelano who was behaving violently. Whenever the hammer fell, it was as if it had landed on his own body.
“The drive shaft on the leg doesn’t even have a positioning device, no wonder it was destroyed so easily. You guys actually treat such garbage like treasure!” Angelano ignored the metallurgist and took out a normal hammer, after which he knocked it twice on the Alchemy Colossus. He then shoved it hard inside the body of the Alchemy Colossus, and sauntered towards another Alchemy Colossus.
“Stop, don’t you come near!” The owner of the other Alchemy Colossus stretched his hands out and stopped Angelano nervously, refusing to move away.
“Do you think Lord Angelano cares about trash like you? Scram!” Ever since Angelano got that armor, he became much braver. He reached out to push the metallurgist out of the way, and went forward to wield his hammer.
At this moment, the other metallurgists were surrounding them, and they could already tell that humans would be no match for that tyrannical dwarf.
“Is this what you call an alchemical civilization? You couldn’t even manage the mana circuit at the waist well. The 13 mana circuits are actually mixed together. I really take my hat off to you. How dare you control this garbage during battles? Don’t you know the consequences of mixing mana circuits? Or is this a suicide Alchemy Colossus you’ve developed after research?” While Angelano swung the hammer, there were two metallurgists attached to him. The pitiful thing was that they could not stop him at all.
The metallurgists could also see that no amount of people could stop him with their physical strength alone. A few metallurgists who were also mages even took out their staffs and started chanting incantations, trying to cast magic to stop Angelano’s rampage.
However, Angelano didn’t bother looking at them at all. With the armor on his body, even the full force of a Legendary-mage would not be able to shake him, let alone a few Archmages. After repairing an Alchemy Colossus, he walked towards another one with two of them hanging from his body.
Donald thought, They’re really shameless. They actually sent a dwarf who only knows to wield a hammer. He’s not repairing them, he’s destroying them!
Donald’s lips twitched when he looked at the chaotic scene. He wanted to stop him, but could not bring himself to do so. Since he had agreed to let Lin Li’s people repair his Alchemy Colossuses, he would not get any compensation if he stopped them from repairing.
Jeremiah was watching in awe as well, forgetting his original intention of waiting to see Lin Li make a fool of himself. Damn it, this is ridiculous. Felic doesn’t care about the rules at all. How dares he destroy Rotterdam’s Alchemy Colossuses just like that!
However, Angelano’s rampage wasn’t over yet. After striking an Alchemy Colossus with his hammer again and again, he looked inside and snorted with laughter. Shaking his head, he said, “If you can’t learn the Array Circulation Pathway well, don’t use it indiscriminately. You can’t even get the start and end right, yet you want to rely on this to increase your magic efficiency. What a joke.”
Originally, the metallurgists were ready to cast magic spells, but after hearing Angelano’s words, they were all shocked. They could take his previous words as nonsense, but hearing him mention the technique of the Array Circulation Pathway, which was an absolute Master-level alchemical technique, was different. Even if those who were not in the field of alchemy had only heard of its name, they would not be able to tell what technique it was without enough knowledge.
