Are You Crazy? You’re Telling Me This Is a Fugitive TV Show?
Chapter 177: Sacrifice with Your Body, Defend with Your Life!“Another explosion!”
The livestream viewers became uneasy. This was the second bomb, and it detonated just after Captain Dragon Hand had finished speaking.
“Talk about instant karma!”
“My goodness, how many bombs did Big Brother actually bury on this mountain?”
“Yikes, this is terrifying. I have a feeling tonight’s showdown will be extremely thrilling!”
“Of course, every duel that Big Brother is involved in is thrilling!”
“Do you guys think the Indian program inspection team will get wiped out, or will both the Chinese and Indian program inspection teams be annihilated together?”
The audience began speculating in the comments, visibly excited. Seeing the lively participation, the program team launched a poll.
Surprisingly, topping the poll was the scenario where both the Indian and Chinese program inspection teams were annihilated together. A turn of events not even the production team had anticipated.
Wang Yun watched as the program inspectors from India descended into chaos before him. A smirk formed on his lips, and a hint of bloodlust glinted in his eyes.“Time for me to act.”
Next, he raised the sniper rifle he’d grown fond of recently. With its ability for long-range, precise, and lethal shots, it had become his preferred weapon.
Bang!
A shot rang out, striking a program inspector right beside Captain Dragon Hand.
The shrill sound of an alarm bell instantly filled the air.
“We’re under attack!”
“Gunfire from four o’clock!”
Voices erupted in chaos as the team scrambled. Captain Dragon Hand reacted swiftly, ducking behind a nearby tree.
Bang!
Another shot, another hit—a testament to the sniper’s deadly accuracy.
“It’s Wang Yun! Only he could shoot with such precision,” Captain Dragon Hand said, as two of his team members fell beside him. Veins throbbed on his forehead as he strained to look in the direction of the gunfire.
He tried to roughly estimate Wang Yun’s position based on the sound. He was unable to pinpoint an exact location.
The Indian program inspectors, seeing two of their comrades dead, dared not rashly expose themselves.
“Quickly, call for helicopter support and confirm his exact coordinates,” Captain Dragon Hand communicated through his intercom to the helicopter crew hovering above.
“Received, reducing altitude!” responded the program inspectors aboard the helicopter, immediately lowering their flight height.
Two operators, half emerging from the cabin with sniper rifles, scanned the terrain below intently as two bright beams illuminated a small area of the mountain like daylight. However, unfortunately, the foliage was lush in this season. The area Captain Dragon Hand reported was completely obscured by dense trees.
“Vision is obscured, unable to take a shot,” relayed the helicopter crew through the walkie-talkie.
Captain Dragon Hand’s brows furrowed in frustration.
Bang!
Another shot rang out.
This time, the bullet struck the foot of a program inspector to his left. A portion of the foot was exposed. Although the wound was not fatal, it significantly hindered movement, effectively neutralizing the inspector’s combat capabilities.
“Don’t even try to hide,” Wang Yun muttered under his breath as he loaded his rifle.
The distant program inspectors had taken cover, but he wasn’t in a hurry. They would have to come out eventually. They were more desperate than he was.
Sure enough, after a tense five-second silence, an Indian program inspector burst out. He fired wildly toward the four o’clock direction.
His gun only fired four shots before the alarm on his body started blaring.
“Captain…”
The shot inspector fell to his knees, his eyes full of regret as he looked towards Captain Dragon Hand.
“Damn! Did anyone spot him?” Captain Dragon Hand clenched his fists, struggling to contain his inner rage.
Their only strategy now was to use their lives to lure Wang Yun into shooting, then pinpoint his precise location from the sparks of his gunfire in the darkness. Without that, no one dared to charge blindly.
Wang Yun’s marksmanship was terrifyingly accurate, adding to the tension among the trees and boulders that served as mere temporary shelters. But could anyone guarantee they wouldn’t get hit in the few seconds it took to dash forward?
It was all a gamble.
“Every time he shoots, he takes two seconds to reload. Prepare yourselves, advance when he fires,” Captain Dragon Hand commanded, his eyes burning with intensity. This strategy meant that one of them had to step forward to draw Wang Yun’s fire.
“I’ll do it! Wang Yun, your end is near!”
A second inspector dashed from behind a rock. This time, he fell faster than the first, just half a second after being exposed.
“Hmm? Using human shields? Fine,” Wang Yun coldly said. “You are two kilometers away, advancing only a few meters at a time. By the time you actually reach me, the ground will likely be littered with your bodies.”
Wang Yun had quickly grasped their desperate strategy.
It was a foolish tactic, but Captain Dragon Hand had no better option.
The third, the fourth, and then the fifth.
By this time, the Indian program inspection team managed to advance 500 meters. They had confirmed that there was only one sniper in the distance. Even with everyone moving extensively, a sniper could only take down one person within three seconds.
Using this tactic, they were barely able to cover five hundred meters. However, throughout this harrowing advance, Captain Dragon Hand was radiating intense fury. He had already sacrificed seven of his men. Still, they had not managed to pinpoint Wang Yun’s exact location, causing the overhead helicopter to continue circling aimlessly.
“Captain, let me go,” a man in front of Captain Dragon Hand said up with righteous indignation.
He wasn’t tall, but he was exceptionally agile. His leadership had significantly sped up their movements in such a short span of time.
His name was Anlu Na, one of Captain Dragon Hand’s elite program inspectors and a reliable assistant.
“Anlu, no! You’ve seen Wang Yun’s marksmanship,” Captain Dragon Hand roared.
Anlu faced him with a determined expression, “If we continue like this, even sacrificing all our men might not reveal his position. He’s hidden too well, there are likely leaves concealing his muzzle, making it impossible to see the flash.”
“Don’t forget, Captain, I’m known as ‘Eagle Eye.’ I have the best eyesight in our entire town,” Anlu insisted.
Without waiting for Captain Dragon Hand’s response, Anlu grabbed a shield nearby. He held it firmly in front of his chest and then, with a fierce look in his eyes, he dashed out from behind the tree.
His body was immediately exposed in the jungle.
Simultaneously, his fellow team members clenched their teeth and continued to press forward toward cover!
Bang! A loud crack resounded as Wang Yun’s first shot struck the shield.
