Chapter 812: 407, internal response_2Chapter 812: 407, internal response_2
Alicia Linder heard this, lifted her head, and glared fiercely at Oscar, her look as if it could devour him. She scolded, “Shut up! I don’t need your guidance to do my job!” Though she spoke toughly, Alicia Linder knew in her heart that if she couldn’t find the key, just studying these locks would be a hopeless endeavor to open them.
Thinking of this, Alicia Linder released the iron ring she was holding, as if she had touched something dirty, and shook off the hand that had touched Oscar’s body, as if she was trying to shed bad luck. Then, she took a deep breath and turned to start rummaging through the room.
Jack stood aside, watching Alicia Linder, who was busy and constantly bending to search in the room through the semi-transparent light screen, and gently shook his head. He asked, “Oscar has killed countless people, have you really decided to save this bastard?”
Alicia Linder didn’t lift her head, replying resolutely, “I’m a police officer. Whether it’s saving people or catching them, it’s my duty.” As she spoke, she found a key under the chair she had just sat on. She picked it up happily and examined it closely, only to find that the bottom of the cylindrical key was completely flat and didn’t match the indentations of the five locks. In an instant, her hope was dashed, and a hint of disappointment flashed across her eyes.
At this moment, Jack’s voice sounded again: “There are a total of thirty keys in this room, and twenty-five of them are fake. You better think it over. Continuing to search might just be a waste of effort.” Alicia Linder seemed not to hear him, still concentrating on searching every corner of the room.
“Officer Linder is truly kind-hearted and a good officer who upholds justice!” A bullet comment quickly floated across the live stream.
“Exactly, exactly. To maintain the dignity of the police, and to put aside personal grudges, Officer Linder is truly remarkable!” Another bullet comment followed closely.
“Officer Linder, we will always support you! As a police officer, you should put aside personal feelings and save every life!”
“Honestly, I feel sorry for Officer Linder. On the surface, she looks calm, but I bet she’s tormented inside. After all, Oscar, that bastard, not only killed her brother but also did such crazy things…”
“I agree. If Officer Linder’s parents found out, they probably wouldn’t forgive her for wanting to save the enemy who killed their son. Officer Linder is risking estrangement from her parents to save this scumbag.”
The live stream audience sent bullet comments one after another, with most expressing support and admiration for Alicia Linder’s actions.
The seconds ticked by, and before they knew it, two minutes had passed. Only the last two minutes remained for Alicia Linder and Oscar.
Beads of sweat appeared on Alicia Linder’s forehead as her hands quickly moved among the clutter, getting faster and faster. In these minutes, she found a total of ten keys, but upon checking each one, none matched the locks. She couldn’t help but wonder: did the Dark Law Enforcer really put the real key in this room?
Meanwhile, Oscar had long been tormented by the ticking of the timer. Each “tick” seemed like a death sentence, reminding him that his life was slipping away and bringing him one step closer to death. Yet he was also terrified that in the next second, the ticking would stop abruptly, signifying death’s arrival. Under such extreme torment, Oscar became restless, his fear of death growing like a snowball.
“What the hell are you dawdling for? Hurry up and find it! I’m about to die!” Finally, Oscar couldn’t bear the mental torture any longer and hysterically yelled at Alicia Linder, who was desperately searching.
“Damn! Officer Linder is trying so hard to find it, and this scumbag still dares to yell at her!”
“Such a person deserves to die. Officer Linder, just leave him be!”
“Shit, if I were there, I would’ve gone up and beaten him already, not bothered looking for any key!”
“Exactly, people like this are always cocky, they need to be taught a lesson!”
The live streaming audience was infuriated at seeing Oscar dare to yell at Alicia Linder, sending bullet comments instantly, advising her to ignore Oscar’s life and death.
As if feeling the audience’s anger, Alicia Linder seemed to make a sudden decision, stopped searching for the key, and turned to face Oscar. At this moment, there was only one minute left. Alicia Linder thought, rather than wasting time searching for a possibly nonexistent key, it’s better to try another method.
She lowered her head and carefully examined the iron rings piercing through Oscar’s body. The iron rings on his arms pierced through the biceps, while those on his legs pierced the thigh muscles. Compared to the ring that pierced through his jaw, these four seemed somewhat easier to remove.
“Hold on!” Alicia Linder said without lifting her head to Oscar. Then she grabbed the iron ring on Oscar’s right arm tightly, intending to try and see if she could directly pull the ring out of his flesh.
“W-What are you doing?!” Oscar felt excruciating pain in his arm and asked in fear, gritting his teeth. Alicia Linder ignored him, gripped the iron ring tightly with both hands, and with all her might, yanked it outward.
“Ah!!!” In an instant, a piercing scream resounded through the tense, oppressive air of the room.
In that dim, oppressive room, Alicia Linder held an iron ring oozing red liquid. The red liquid dripped ceaselessly from the ring like a broken string of beads, gathering into a small puddle on the ground. In front of her, Oscar screamed continuously, his body writhing violently from unbearable pain. A finger-thick wound appeared on Oscar’s right arm, a piece of flesh hanging limply outside, the red liquid spurting uncontrollably from the wound like a fountain.
The live stream audience was momentarily stunned by this scene, then bullet comments flooded in like a tidal wave, full of surprise and shock.
“Whoa! What’s Officer Linder up to? Did she change her mind and plan to take revenge instead?”
“Can’t be, right? From what I know of Officer Linder, she’s not like that.”
“Look at that countdown, there’s less than a minute left, searching for a key to unlock it in time is impossible. Officer Linder is left with no choice but to use this most direct, violent way to save Oscar.”
“Exactly, after searching for four minutes, no usable key was found. Who knows if the broadcaster really hid the real key in this room. Officer Linder just made the most correct decision for now.”
“Yes, Officer Linder did the right thing. I fully support her!”
“Actually, Officer Linder should have done this sooner. It’s a way to save Oscar while venting some rage.”
While the live stream audience sent bullet comments in support of Alicia Linder, Oscar in the live stream was engulfed in rage. His body trembled slightly, his eyes bloodshot, glaring viciously at Alicia Linder, he opened his mouth and roared hoarsely, “What the hell are you doing?! You are a cop! Go find the damn key! Or I’ll kill you!”
Upon hearing this, Alicia Linder merely glanced coldly at him without saying a word, casually tossing the iron ring in her hand. Then she swiftly grabbed the iron ring on Oscar’s left arm, gritted her teeth, and with all her strength, yanked it outward again.
