Chapter 1163: Palace Lord of the Hundred Flowers Palace

Immortal Fairy Spirit Phoenix’s eyes burned with rage, and her face was grim and fierce. She was really not used to hearing obscene talk. Although the person possessing Spirit Phoenix did not come from as prestigious a background as the real Spirit Phoenix, she was still from a rich and noble family. And thus, killing intent was raging in her heart.

It wasn’t that she wanted to kill the hundred flowers. Nor did she want to kill the fox maiden. She wanted to kill… the consciousness that was possessing the fox maiden!

Fourth True Monarch had explained that, just like her, the fox maiden had been possessed by an outsider. She wasn’t sure exactly who it was. But she was determined to find out for sure after she left this place.

In response to her orders, the black-armored guards surged with killing intent and martial auras as they advanced. Instantly, a tempest screamed in all directions, with the goal of crushing everything in its path and destroying all of the hundred flowers.

However, the ladies of the Hundred Flowers Palace, though seemingly delicate, had all been selected directly by Young Lord Aurora. And all of them were extraordinary individuals. They didn’t just have good looks. They had dazzling talent, and none of them had weak cultivation bases. If they did, they couldn’t deserve to be named among the ‘hundred flowers.’

And what was even more noteworthy was that the fox maiden was in charge. Almost as soon as the black-armored guards unleashed their baleful auras, the ample-chested fox maiden sat up and crossed her legs.

Glaring, she said, “Every single one of us girls is a chosen cultivator. And every single one of us has been taken good care of by the young lord. We who live in the Hundred Flowers Palace are able to stand aloof from worldly affairs. How could a morning glory like you possibly claim that we’re filthy?

“Who cares if you’re getting married to the young lord? It’s not a real marriage, anyway! So how can you drive us away to anywhere? I’m very curious to see how you plan to get rid of us. Do you intend to just slaughter us right here and now??”

The fox maiden snorted coldly, whereupon the cultivation bases of all of the surrounding hundred flowers surged. Magical techniques and divine abilities formed in an instant. All of a sudden, Immortal Fairy Spirit Phoenix and her retinue found themselves facing stiff opposition. The proverbial swords were drawn and arrows nocked. Killing intent flared. Things looked like they were about to get violent very quickly.

Some distance away, Li Mengtu shivered as a voice spoke into his mind. It was Xu Qing. After getting his instructions, Li Mengtu rushed forward to stand in between the two parties.

“The young lord has given orders!”

All eyes shifted to stare at him.

Taking a deep breath, he said, “The young lord says the following: ‘I am too ashamed to come in person. As I think back to the years of immortal music, and the company of the hundred flowers, I sigh in my heart. But all good things come to an end…. My father’s orders cannot be disobeyed….

“‘However, the hundred flowers have done nothing wrong. All fault lies with me. No one is to cause any harm to my hundred flowers. And each of the hundred flowers will be bestowed with 100,000,000 pieces of immortal jade, 100,000 immortal pills, 100 immortal treasures, and 10 pieces of immortal destiny….

“‘I wish all hundred flowers a safe and happy future. And now, you may take your leave.’”

After Zhong Chi delivered the message in full, he was left with a racing heart. He knew what had happened in real history. The Hundred Flowers Palace had been torn down and all the women departed. In some ways, the big wedding ended up giving them a chance to survive calamity. The history books didn’t go into detail about how many actually left the immortal palace and thus escaped death.

However, Li Mengtu did know that, historically speaking, the Hundred Flowers Palace didn’t end up being torn down until four days before the wedding. But now, it was happening much earlier than that.

After the young lord’s message was delivered, the hundred flowers stood there silently. Soon, a feeling of grief filled the area.

Finally, the fox maiden sighed and looked around. “The young lord is being generous with us. Considering his sincerity, and the fact that the wedding approaches, plus the orders of the Immortal Lord, all of you… should leave his forsaken place. Now we follow through with the plan. There is no Hundred Flowers Palace here anymore, but there will be a Hundred Flowers Palace out in the Fifth Star Ring!”

Instantly, space-time began to ripple. In real history, the Hundred Flowers Palace had only existed in Young Aurora Hall in the immortal palace. It had never existed anywhere else. Considering what Starfire was capable of, and how long had spent in the Hundred Flowers Palace, there was no way was unaware of that fact. Obviously, had worked out a plan with the hundred flowers.

If the Hundred Flowers Palace ended up torn down, then they wouldn’t really just disperse in defeat. They would go into the outside world and form their own sect.

And the name of that sect would be… the Hundred Flowers Palace! There would always be a Hundred Flowers Palace that belonged to Young Lord Aurora. And in the records of the Hundred Flowers Palace, the fox maiden would be listed as the first palace lord of the place! The story would pass down through the generations!

As a result of this, waves were spreading in space-time. And though Immortal Fairy Spirit Phoenix had canon, she couldn’t detect that. But she was fully aware of the significance of these words in terms of historicity. Her expression suddenly became very serious.

Meanwhile….

Xu Qing stood in Young Aurora Hall, his hands clasped behind his back as he looked out the window, a melancholy expression on his face. Of course, inside, he was completely calm.

Although he didn’t know history as well as Spirit Phoenix or the person playing the role of Spirit Phoenix. But he could sense the waves in space-time. From the moment Spirit Phoenix arrived, space-time had been rippling, which made it obvious that history was changing. That said, the changes were minimal.

At that point, he came to realize that Fourth True Monarch was probably behind the whole thing. He could allow some minor waves in space-time if it meant he could seize the initiative. His target had obviously been the fox maiden.

But now, the space-time waves were much larger. And Xu Qing knew why; it was Starfire’s doing. Starfire obviously wasn’t going to bet everything on Sir Vilespirit.

“How interesting…”

A quiet voice drifted through the hall behind Xu Qing.

He wasn’t surprised at all to hear it. He slowly turned around.

A figure was materializing out of thin air. He had eyebrows like swords and eyes like stars. Clad in a violet-gold robe, he stood as tall and straight as a pine tree. Atop his head was a violet-gold crown inlaid with jewels and decorated with lifelike dragons and phoenixes. There was an otherworldly air to him. He was none other than Fourth True Monarch!

“What are you doing here, Elder Brother Fourth?” Xu Qing said with a wry smile. “Don’t tell me you’re here to make fun of me.”

“This is all due to Master’s orders, little Junior Brother,” Fourth True Monarch said warmly. “There was nothing I could do to stop it. I just came to keep you company. I was worried you would be upset.”

He didn’t seem to be acting aggressively in any way, and in fact, came across as very sincere.

Of course, in reality, Sir Star Ring was closely scrutinizing the young lord. That was just how he acted on instinct.

Looking depressed, Xu Qing shook his head and declined to say anything.

“That said, little Junior Brother, I have to admit that fox maiden you won from Li the Chosen was quite intriguing….” Sir Star Ring seemed to randomly look at Xu Qing’s eyes. He had known from the very beginning that many outsiders would focus their attention on the young lord, so it was no surprise that the fox maiden ended up with him. He also knew that it was impossible for the consciousness of an outsider to possess either the young lord or Immortal Lord Aurora. However, after his previous failure, he couldn’t help but start wondering if that was true.

With a stunned expression, Xu Qing looked Sir Star Ring up and down in his guise of Fourth True Monarch.

That reaction caused Sir Star Ring to similarly react with shock. He was just about to say something, but Xu Qing beat him to it.

“Elder Brother Fourth,” Xu Qing whispered, “you never paid attention to anyone in the Hundred Flowers Palace before. But now you’re talking like that…?”

Sir Star Ring’s guard instantly went up. The rumors about him were still circulating, so the last thing he wanted was people from this space-time to start suspecting him of something.

But then Xu Qing laughed. “Elder Brother Fourth, don’t tell me you’ve suddenly set your heart on mundane matters? Well, that’s fine. To tell you the truth, the hundred flowers have accompanied me for so long that I can’t bear to part with any of them. But the fox maiden just arrived. If you like her, then you can have her. Take her as a handmaiden.”

Although Xu Qing was speaking casually, there was no way Sir Star Ring could accept the offer!

First of all, it wasn’t something Fourth True Monarch would do. What was more, the fox maiden wasn’t fated to do that.

That said, even he was tempted. If he had the fox maiden as a handmaiden, then he could drive the outside consciousness from her to forestall future misfortune. However, even as such thoughts passed through his mind, he realized Young Lord Aurora was looking at him closely….

He really was Young Lord Aurora. And Fourth True Monarch was really no one else other than Fourth True Monarch!

After the young lord’s message was delivered to the Hundred Flowers Palace, the entire situation was defused. All of the gifts the young lord had said to be delivered were taken from the inner court of Young Aurora Hall. The fox maiden calmed everyone down, and they left.

Before long, the fox maiden was the only one left behind in Hundred Flowers Palace. She lounged there lazily, looking like she had no intention of leaving.

Frowning, Immortal Fairy Spirit Phoenix looked at her. “If you don’t get the hell out of the immortal palace within ten breaths of time, then I’ll have you cast out with force!”

Starfire smiled charmingly. “Oh honey, you look so cute when you’re mad! No wonder the young lord was willing to kick the rest of them out.”

Spirit Phoenix stewed in her rage for ten breaths of time. Then she turned and left. Along the way, she ordered, “Escort her out!”

The black-armored guards advanced. From the majestic pressure that emanated from them, they were obviously about to take action.

But then, a cold voice erupted like thunder outside of Young Aurora Hall.

“What do you think you’re doing to my apprentice??” All of a sudden, Gongsun Qingmu from the Scourgebolt Palace appeared in midair. Looking very angry, he continued, “That fox spirit is my apprentice! This is her identity medallion, which has already been officially registered at Scourgebolt Palace!”

The fox maiden grinned, stood, and bowed to him. “Master.”

Spirit Phoenix stopped in her tracks. The black-armored guards froze in place. None of them had the power to drive someone out of the immortal palace who was officially registered there!

Even stronger space-time waves rolled out.

Looking in the direction of Young Aurora Hall, Sir Vilespirit in the guise of Gongsun Qingmu coldly said, “I know you’re there, True Monarch. You just killed one of my apprentices. And now you’re causing trouble for another of my apprentices? Why does it seem like you’re targeting me over and over again?”

In Young Aurora Hall, Xu Qing looked surprised. He turned to Sir Star Ring.

Sir Star Ring’s expression did not change, but inside, he was uncharacteristically uneasy. He suddenly felt more loathing than ever for Sir Vilespirit.

Once this thing is over, and we’re back in the eastern planetary system, I’m going to personally track him down and kill him!
