Chapter 879: The missions IV
Just as Kyle stepped into the Dawnfeather Clan, he was greeted with a different scene from the Golden Guardian clan. There were no mountains inside the gate, no city, but only towering old structures scattered in a vast terrain filled with all kinds of flowers.
“Hmmm?”
He glanced around the place, oblivious to the shocked gazes of Gvette and the other Celestials trailing behind him. It took them a moment, but they understood what he did in front of the clan gate! He had learned the natural law of that golden-eyed Celestial!
The question was, how?
That Celestial didn’t even explain his law properly, just showing him a wisp of energy, and Kyle grasped his law?? A law that man would have probably spent years to learn?!
The Celestials drew in sharp breaths.
Inwardly, they vowed to never reveal their natural laws in front of Kyle again.
This person was simply a monster!
A monster who could learn others’ natural laws as easily as taking a stroll in a park!
Kyle turned his gaze to Gvette, and the Celestial visibly flinched, which amused him. He didn’t press the matter, instead cutting straight to the point.
“Where do we need to go for the battle?”
Gvette wiped his sweaty forehead. He and the others had come with Kyle to watch him fail, but after what they had just witnessed, the Celestials weren’t so sure anymore.
“Wait here. I will go speak with the clan.”
He vanished. Kyle watched his receding figure and stepped forward. Some of the clan members took notice of him.
Given his attire, tall stature, and striking features, it was difficult not to notice him. However, they kept their distance because of the many Celestials surrounding him.
Kyle felt a sudden tingling warmth brush his leg as he took a few steps inside the clan. He looked down and saw a dark crimson flower unlike any other around. Casually picking it up, he turned to the Celestials near him.
“This is?”
Their jaws dropped as they looked at him and then at the flower. They were shocked once more that the man had just casually found a treasure—not just any treasure, but one holding the power of the fire element!
One of the Celestials jumped forward. His main natural element was fire, the element his Celestial lake held. Rubbing his hands together, he smiled nervously at Kyle.
“It’s a good natural treasure. How about you sell it to me? I will pay with natural crystals.”
Kyle’s lips curved upward. Of course, he knew it was a natural treasure. However, it was useless to him since he already knew the natural law of fire. Also, he would never consume it, considering how many people had likely stepped on it. Luckily, someone took the bait and wanted to buy it.
“Okay. Pay me, and it’s yours.”
The Celestial gave him a hundred natural crystals, and the crimson flower was his.
The other Celestials could only watch in stunned silence as a powerful fire treasure, valued at thousands of natural crystals, was bought by someone for a mere 100 natural crystals. They all felt regretful, wishing they had been the ones to offer to buy it.
But it was too late; the deal was done.
Someone had already bought it!
Meanwhile, the numerous Celestials of the Dawnfeather Clan, who had just witnessed Kyle casually finding a treasure in their land—the very land they walked on—and selling it right before their very eyes: “…”
Kyle strolled into the clan, surveying the ancient structures scattered around him. The flowers brushed against his legs, yet, strangely, they remained unharmed even when stepped upon, as if protected by an unseen natural power. Only when he bent down to pluck them did they yield.
The other Celestials from the Golden Guardian clan followed him.
Gvette had instructed Kyle to remain put, but they couldn’t, for some reason, ask him not to roam around. It was as if there was an unapproachable aura around him that made them seem small in his presence.
Kyle didn’t walk for long before Gvette returned, his expression grave. The man looked as though he had suffered as he looked directly at him with a sigh.
“The Dawnfeather Clan leader told me that they are ready for the fight but are sending a 3rd stage Celestial for the battle. Are you sure you can take him? The outcome of this battle will determine which of our clans will claim the dungeon for this month. If you aren’t confident, I or anyone can fight—”
He was cut off mid-sentence by Kyle.
“I wil handle it. It’s my mission.”
Gvette wanted to say more, but seeing the nonchalant look on his face, he swallowed his words, shaking his head solemnly.
“Alright, then, come with me. The battle stage is ready. We just need to go there.”
He began to float. Kyle and the others from the Golden Guardian clan followed suit.
But this time, several Celestials from the Dawnfeather Clan, who had been observing the handsome Celestial, also trailed behind them upon learning the group was from the Golden Guardian clan, here for the monthly battle. Generally, they avoided these fights, as their clan usually won, but this time, the arrival of a new face had lit their interest.
So why would not they place bets on whether he would win or lose badly?
Kyle noticed the growing crowd following them. Ignoring them, he increased his pace. In no time, they all landed in the center of a clearing where there were no structures but only elevated platforms for battle covered in silver barriers, surrounded by flowers.
His opponent was already present. A tall, handsome man enveloped in golden light that shimmered like molten gold. The man sat cross-legged on one of the platforms, eyes tightly closed, in concentration.
Behind him stood a few elderly figures in robes with expressions of boredom, likely the representatives of the man’s clan, who, like Gvette and the others, would oversee the battle to ensure no one cheats.
Kyle stepped onto the platform, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt. He hadn’t extended his senses, knowing many strong Celestials were around. Now, however, he spread his senses to gauge his opponent’s power.
He nodded to himself. His opponent was indeed a third stage Celestial because he couldn’t sense his true strength at all.
“I can defeat him.”
The closed eyes finally snapped open.
Deep, mesmerizing eyes, one shimmering gold and one blue, stared at him amusedly as the owner chuckled and rose to his feet.
“Can you really?”
He smirked, his gaze sweeping over Kyle’s form as a pair of brass knuckles appeared on his fingers. He cracked them together, a sigh escaping him as he sensed his power.
“A 2nd stage Celestial versus a 3rd stage Celestial? Does the Golden Guardian clan not want the dungeon this month…? If so, they should have said so. Why waste our time on this meaningless fight?”
Kyle raised a brow. The man was indeed stronger than him. It was true, but he could tell that he could easily defeat him. Why? Because the natural aura around the man was way weaker compared to him.
He tilted his head with a smirk.
“I would like to say the same.”
His opponent, visibly angered, grunted in response, then turned to his clan members.
“Elders, commence the battle. I want this over quickly. I don’t have time to waste. I’d rather use it to learn more natural laws!”
Kyle let out a mirthless chuckle, a brilliant gleam of green flashing in his dark gaze.
This man was now pissing him off.
He suddenly raised his hand as one of the Dawnfeather clan representatives started floating to commence the battle.
“Half a minute. No, ten seconds. I will end this battle in ten seconds, so as not to waste your precious time.”
His opponent’s eyes trembled with rage.
“You! How dare you? Can’t you see the power difference between us? Know your place! It will be me who throws you out of this stage in seconds and ends this fight!”
The people of his clans rallied behind him, throwing disdainful looks at Kyle, who had no idea about the vastness of the world.
Gvette and the other Celestials who had come with Kyle simply wiped their brows, hoping he wouldn’t be too badly beaten.
Why? Because unlike him, they knew his opponent wasn’t just any ordinary 3rd stage Celestial with no foundation. He was one of the disciples of Dawnfeather clan leader!
Kyle just shrugged his shoulders.
The elder floating above the platform shook his head with a sigh at the arrogant Celestial and, without a word, initiated the battle.
“First, state your names, then begin!”
Kyle met the dual-colored eyes.
“Myself, Kyle.”
His opponent let out a snicker.
“Rion Wales.”
Then, with a burst of speed, they charged at each other, harnessing the power of natural laws. Two streaks of light, one blue and one golden, blazed across the small platform.
But what happened next silenced everyone. Their lips fell open in utter shock. Kyle used the strength of the natural laws of wind and thunder, and Rion was flung off the stage.
And it didn’t even take ten seconds!
