Chapter 889: Luck: SSS+
It was quiet.
Peaceful.
And so incredibly comfortable.
Kyle shifted slightly, trying to find a better position to sleep. His body felt heavy and languid—strangely pleasant, yet drowsy, as if he were exhausted to his very core.
He had been asleep for a long time.
That much he could tell.
What had happened to his body… his soul… his consciousness—he couldn’t remember. It was all a blur. Whatever occurred before he drifted off had completely slipped from his memory. But when Kyle finally opened his eyes, they were no longer dark.
They glowed with a brilliant, familiar green—clear and sharp, like crystals catching light in the darkness. Long silver strands of hair cascaded over his bare body, smooth and flawless, untouched by even a single scar.
He emitted a familiar Celestial aura.
Kyle rubbed the back of his neck.
The teardrop-shaped symbol engraved on the back of his neck… was gone, its power no longer enough to conceal his true form.
He sat up, strands of hair clinging to his shoulders like threads of light. There was no pain. No chaos. No pressure crushing him from all sides. Just stillness. Beneath him floated a cold platform, shaped like an ethereal and pretty snowflake—its intricate edges shimmering with numerous colors as it effortlessly supported his weight.
His hand flexed on instinct. The strength flowing through his veins was unfamiliar—raw, refined, and terrifyingly vast.
Something had changed.
He could feel it in every fiber of his being.
He shifted a bit, and the darkness around him seemed to bend in response—pausing, almost reverently, as if acknowledging his presence. There wasn’t even a trace of the chaotic energy he suddenly remembered—energy that had once made him scream in agony before he lost all sense of self.
Where was he?
How had he survived?
He had truly believed he would die or lose his mind entirely to the chaotic energy.
After all, the pain was maddening.
Now, he found himself gazing at his reflection in the smooth surface of the snowflake beneath him. The eyes were unmistakably his—familiar in shape and color—but the immense, terrifying power flickering within them felt utterly foreign.
The body reflected back at him was his.
However, it was vastly unfamiliar.
He remembered: whenever his essence created a new body for him, all his scars and injuries would vanish completely.
Had his essence forged a new vessel for his soul after he lost consciousness?
If so, then the ethereal change of his current form made sense. Still, the only thing he felt deep within was a whisper—
Not of fear.
Not of confusion.
But of calm… and quiet joy.
He blinked. But just as he reached for his natural laws to form comfortable clothing around himself, he paused—surprised.
The countless colors shimmering at the intricate edges of the snowflake beneath him suddenly surged outward like glowing particles, weaving themselves into a white sweater and trousers around his body.
“Oh?”
Kyle stood up, and the moment he did, the ethereal snowflake beneath him shattered into countless luminous cold particles. Its delicate, prismatic edges fragmented into a cascade of colors that swirled around him like a living aura, dancing across his skin.
Then, one by one, the tiny particles flowed into his body—silently and seamlessly, as if they had always been a part of him.
He blinked, then tugged at the front of his sweater. There, between his collarbones, a glowing image of the snowflake shimmered briefly—elegant and pulsing—before slowly fading into his skin, as though marking him with something ancient and sacred.
He felt thrilled to see it.
Excited.
A sudden, unfamiliar warmth spread through him—not from heat, but from a euphoric surge he couldn’t quite name.
“Just how powerful have I become?”
He placed a hand over his chest, silently feeling his heart thudding beneath his palm.
“Haha! Finally! I’ve gotten stronger!”
Kyle’s eyes sparkled brightly.
The anger, helplessness, and pain from before were already forgotten. He turned his head, pure anticipation buzzing in his chest, ready to see the image showing his stats.
And he laughed again when he saw it.
The sound was loud and unrestrained—joyful, echoing with pure exhilaration.

________
Kyle’s gaze scrolled down—then further down. The more he read the information showing, the more thrilled he became. His race had evolved into a full Celestial!
Unlimited mana, divine energy, and also spiritual energy—just like Azazeal!
Even though he couldn’t determine exactly which Celestial stage he’d reached due to all the question marks, he could feel it. He was just as powerful as Azazeal had been the last time they faced off in their universe!
He had even awakened a new skill! And to top it off, all his skills lower than Celestial rank had ascended to Celestial rank!
Of course, he didn’t breathe a word about his luck stat skyrocketing from (S+)-Rank to (SSS+)—let alone the fact that he had gone from Nature’s Favorite to Nature’s Chosen.
What if he jinxed it?
He wasn’t about to take that risk.
Not now.
Not ever.
Kyle ran a hand through his hair, willing the long silver strands to shorten with a blink.
Instantly, they obeyed, trimming down to reveal his entire face without obstruction.
As a Celestial, shaping even the smallest aspects of his form was effortless.
“Amazing!”
He grinned to himself. Raw power pulsed under his glowing skin, and he was already wondering where he could go to check his new strength… and finally figure out which stage of the Celestial rank he’d reached!
“This stat image useless now.”
He muttered, nodding thoughtfully.
“I need something stronger… something that can give me a clear read without all those damn question marks. But does anything like that even exist out there?”
Kyle’s self-talk came to an abrupt end, and he jumped in surprise when a very familiar voice echoed from behind him.
“Damn. So, you were hiding your true appearance? Wow. I didn’t even notice.”
He slowly turned around—only to meet a familiar pair of crimson eyes, though for some reason, they now had dark circles beneath them.
Cassian was watching him. No… he had been watching him since the moment he woke up. Cassian’s brow twitched.
“I can’t believe we both went through the same hell. I almost died… and you? You’re glowing and somehow got even stronger.”
