Chapter 3381: A Tiny Bit
"Are you serious?" Rean asked. "Didn't you just say it was risky even for you? It should be even more so if you step out of the barrier and have to fight the freezing energy entirely."
"Yes, that is correct," Gram didn't deny it. "But it is also a great place for those who cultivate Water-related techniques or have skills that need such type of energy. During the critical point of the Glacial Overflow, provided that you manage to survive it, you can gain a lot from taking it head-on."
"Oh!" Rean looked around and nodded. "So that's why we have so many cultivators, demon beasts, and spirits here, uh? Not all of them are crossing the corridor."
"That is indeed correct," Gram confirmed. "You better not try something that crazy, though. Even if you do have water-related skills or techniques, your cultivation is still way too low. That won't save you. After all, once we disembark, the next ship won't pass by for the next week at least. I doubt you would last a single day, and no one will help you in there."
Rean shook his head. "Don't worry. We are truly just crossing the corridor to save time. We have no interest in the corridor's advantages. Well, we don't cultivate any water element techniques or use any skills of that type to start with."
Roan heard that conversation inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, but he showed no interest. Roan can make use of such an environment, and he can even use some water-related skills, but he is primarily a Dark Element cultivator.
"Gram!" It was then that a voice echoed from behind as a woman came to the deck from inside the ship.
Gram turned back, nodding at her. "Hey, if it isn't Duleti. I see you are still alive."
"Don't come at me with that bullshit!" Duleti reached Gram and pulled him closer. "How the hell are you still alive? I'm sure I saw you being hit by the Glacial Decay Runes before everyone fled the last time."
Gram laughed in response. "I did, didn't I? Hahaha!"
Rean and Kentucky were completely lost. "Weren't those runes supposed to be a death sentence?"
"Oh, but they are," Gram pushed Duleti's hand away and tied up his robe. "It's just that I wasn't really hit by them. Duleti, back when we were taken by surprise by the Glacial Decay Stream, what you saw was me using a replacement technique to escape. That's why it looked like you say me being hit instead. It was quite a dangerous moment, you know? I almost didn't escape since that technique uses a lot of energy, which I already didn't have much when that event happened."
Still, Gram stuffed his chest in pride. "But hey, look at how it turned out! That moment of life and death served as a catalyst for me."
Duleti checked him with her Divine Sense. "So you managed to breakthrough into the late stage..."
"Yeap!" Gram was happy she saw it. "That breakthrough was the main reason I managed to survive and escape in the end. Now, with more experience, I'm going back in to cultivate again. So, how is it? Wanna join me again? We can make another group to work together. I should be of more use this time."
"Sigh..." Duleti pondered a bit. "You could have contacted me and the other guys. You have our numbers."
"I do...?" Gram seemed confused, closing his eyes and checking his VS Device. "Oh... I forgot. My bad, my bad..."
Duleti didn't know what to say, but she knew Gram was an airhead like that, so she didn't take it to heart. Duleti then looked at Rean and Kentucky, also checking their cultivations. "You better not be thinking about leaving the ship. You will be dead in less than a day."
Rean and Kentucky found it funny. Gram mentioned the same thing. "Don't worry. We have no interest in cultivating there. We are just passing by. From what we heard, we might not make it through even if we don't leave the Warm Boat, so we won't risk such a thing."
"That's also true." Duleti only mentioned that in the passing. Whether Rean and Kentucky tried it or not didn't matter to her. "Gram, since you had your breakthrough, we can go out together. Let's check the others on the ship. Quite a few groups have been made, and we might as well join one that is ready."
"We may do that indeed," Gram joined Duleti and turned to Rean and Kentucky. "In any case, good luck on your travel, friends. Oh, right! I mentioned you seemed to know a little about formations, and there was a reason for that. The runes in the Warm Boat protection formation can be used to heat yourself if you know how to control them well enough. Just be careful so you won't affect the protection of the ship itself. If you mess up, the captain will probably kill you."
Rean had already noticed that a long time ago. "Thank you for the warning. I will give it a check and see if I can use the runes."
Duleti and Gram then walked to a small group not far away and began to talk to them.
Rean and Kentucky, on the other hand, just enjoyed the show outside while talking. They even brought some food from inside the Dimensional Realm to help pass the time.
The Warm Boat Rean and Kentucky were inside wasn't the only one. It was part of a convoy of Warm Boats, all of those Kentucky mentioned earlier. By staying close to each other, they seemed to be able to use the nearby Warm Boats' Formations to reinforce themselves, creating a stronger shield against the cold and the rays of blue light.
Finally, a day later, the ships reached the border of the corridor. It was actually very easy to notice as the blue clouds changed at that point. The blue color from before changed into deeper blue, and so did the light that traveled through them before hitting the airships' barriers.
The moment the first ray of deep blue light hit Rean and Kentucky's Warm Boat, most of its freezing energy was kept at bay, but some of it still seeped inside.
The deck immediately cooled down, tiny icicles formed on every edge, and a layer of frost covered the deck. That was just a tiny bit of the deep blue light's power...
Rean and Kentucky looked at that, still entertained. "Quite cold indeed..."
