Chapter 3392: Waterdog's Behavior
Gram and the others froze in place, and it was not because of the freezing energy or the Glacial Decay Runes. "What... did you just say?"
Rean looked back at them. "Go deeper into this airstream while it is passing through this location. There has to be something feeding its runes, right? It can't take form from nothing."
"No, no, no!" Gram immediately refused. "Why would you risk that much? Weren't you in a hurry? Don't you want to get past the Glacial Corridor so you can continue your journey? What if we end up being trapped again?"
Kentucky agreed with Gram there. "Although I think it would be fun, Gram here is right. We should keep going."
Rean pondered a bit and sighed in the end. "Fine... Let's resume our journey."
"One question," Farlo raised his little hand. "Do we even know which direction to go?"
Gram and Duleti quickly nodded. "That much is easy. You just need to check in which direction the wind is blowing. In the Glacial Corridor, the Glacial Overflow starts at the north and flows all the way to the south. Everything here moves in this specific direction. Freezing Energy, Wind, Divine Energy, you name it. So, since we are traveling to the west, we just need to use the wind to know where the north is. Simple, no?"
Rean had other ways of ascertaining his position, but Gram and Duleti's method also worked. "Then let's go west. Casper, go back to your real form. We will continue to fly."
"On it!" Kentucky quickly changed into his Minokawa form, and everyone jumped on his back. Finally, they resumed their journey to the west, traversing the Glacial Decay Airstream.
Kentucky flew with care, ready to dodge the deep blue freezing lights that Rean's runes couldn't prevent. His Runes could use the normal freezing energy around to feed themselves, but those lights were way, way too much for them to deal with. Once in a while, Kentucky had to move fast to avoid them, but he grew used to it with time. Since they were flying, Kentucky managed to cover over six thousand kilometers in just a little over two hours, a stark contrast to when they were tunneling underground.
"How come we still haven't left the range of the Glacial Decay Runes?" Gram asked as he looked around. Other than the deep blue clouds, those freezing rays of light, and the cold, the Glacial Decay Runes were still all around. He had experienced the Glacial Decay before and almost died due to it. He knew that it wasn't supposed to have such a huge range.
Rean looked at him. "Is this not normal?"
Duleti, who also saw it, nodded. "Yes. It is well known that although the Glacial Decay Airstream extends for hundreds of thousands of kilometers from north to south, it doesn't have the same size in width. Usually the width of the Glacial Decay Airstream is around five to eight thousand kilometers only. Casper has already flown for over six thousand at least."
Kentucky looked at them on his back. "Well, you said it could have eight thousand of width. Since I only flew six thousand, perhaps we still have two ahead."
"That's not the point," Gram seemed worried. "Even if we are inside an eight thousand width of the Airstream, we should have at least noticed a decrease of the Decay Runes in the surroundings as we get away from the center. Yet, the runes are still as abundant as they were when we started flying."
Duleti agreed with Gram. "It's as if we never left the center of the Airstream to start with."
"Casper," Rean understood and spoke to Kentucky. "Keep flying and increase the speed a little. I want to cover the next two thousand kilometers in the next thirty minutes. Use some of your Spatial Power if necessary. Let's confirm that we are truly still inside the Airstream's center."
"Very well," Kentucky nodded and immediately filled his wings with Light and Dark Element. His Spatial Powers also gathered around, and a slight bend of space happened as Kentucky flapped them. In the next moment, Kentucky shot into the distance, flying almost twice as fast as before.
Gram, Farlo, and Duleti were once again surprised. They were all in the Space Bending Realm, and they knew that space bending only happened at their level. Yet, Kentucky managed to do it in the Initial Stage of the Void tempering Realm. Just how ridiculous was that?
Of course, neither Rean nor Kentucky would talk about it. "Pay attention," he spoke to everyone. "Keep your Divine Senses spread and let the others know if you find anything strange. I'll do the same."
As curious as Gram's group might be, they knew this wasn't the time to talk about such things. They all spread their Divine Senses as far as they could and observed as Kentucky flew through the Deep Blue Clouds at a fast speed.
With that extra speed, Kentucky indeed covered the next two thousand kilometers in less than thirty minutes. However, everyone had ugly faces at this moment. Let alone see the Glacial Decay Runes reducing in numbers. They actually increased instead.
"This has to be a new record..." Gram spoke.
"Perhaps it is due to the critical point of the overflow," Kentucky commented. "Everything is supposed to be a lot more powerful during these last years, isn't that right?"
"I'm not sure," Duleti joined. "I have been here in the previous two Glacial Overflows to cultivate, and I've never heard about such an enormous width for the Glacial Decay Airstream."
Rean, who was still watching everything with his Divine Sense, finally opened his mouth. "It's not that the Airstream has a bigger width. I paid very close attention to it within my Divine Sense, and I'm pretty sure. The Airstream isn't moving in a single direction from north to south like you guys mentioned. It seems to be something else..."
Rean analyzed what he had seen so far and had an idea in his mind. Yet, before he could speak...
'Rean,' suddenly, Zangeshu called Rean from within the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. 'This Waterdog Seal has been acting strange for a while.'
