Chapter 3400: The Simple Method
The soul was something everyone gained some control over after reaching the Soul Transformation Realm. The higher one's cultivation after that, the better that control was. After the Transition Realm, it was even possible to bring one's soul out, although no one was crazy enough to do such a thing. You never know what side-effects could be there in such situations. Even worse, you might be targeted during such a moment.
However, before the Divinity Realm Scaled Seal destroyed their bodies, Rean contacted Gram, Duleti and Farlo. He gave them one choice. Let go of their bodies and allow him to take their souls. He possibly could save them.
Gram and the others obviously didn't like that idea at all. Giving one's soul to someone else? What kind of crazy request was that? But then again, their situation was even crazier. They had an enormous Divinity Realm Demon Beast in front obviously about to kill them. They only had a moment to decide, and seeing that they would certainly be dead in a second, they bit the bullet.
Using Zangeshu's special teleport formation, which used the energy of that projection waterdog to connect outside, Rean instantly sent the souls into the Dimensional Realm at the last moment. The Scaled Seal's attack arrived, they were all frozen, and not even their souls remained... or so it looked like.
What happened next was obvious. Now, Rean, Roan, and Kentucky had completely recovered, and they were looking at the three slumbering souls with Rifindio and Zangeshu. That was Roan's request. Since Rean sent them inside, Roan told Sister Orb to put them to sleep until Rean decided what to do with them.
"Their bodies are gone, and rebuilding them is not something even your Light Element can achieve. Are you going to put them into some puppets?" Kentucky asked curiously.
Rean had made puppets for other souls in the past, so that option was indeed available. He even managed to make a puppet that could cultivate, so why not? "Hum... might be a good idea. I mean, it is still better than having had their souls destroyed by that Scaled Seal, right?"
"I still don't see why you are wasting so much time with them," Roan commented. "You barely know any of themAs for the puppet, you made it when you had access to a lot more materials back in Lisan. Can you even make another one at the same level here? And how long would it take?"
Rean narrowed his eyes. "What are you suggesting?"
"Let them go," Roan spoke instantly. "Leaving their souls be will allow them to enter the reincarnation path. Of course, we heard there is no such thing as reincarnation in this Universe. But it would still be better if they could become Soul Energy for the next souls in line. They are almost the same as the ones we left behind back where the ships were destroyed."
[I have to admit Roan is right in this case, Rean,] Sister Orb added. [Unless you want to put them inside some more simple puppets, you simply don't have the materials necessary for it. That means you would need to keep them in this state for many, many years. I might as well tell you now. I am keeping their state at the moment, but even the system has its limitations. Their souls won't last much longer without a proper body. Even if they do, it will be with several side-effects. That would only be possible if they were at least in the Space-Time Realm, which is not the case.]
Rean sighed, nodding in the end. "Very well..."
"So you decided to let them go?" Rifindio asked.
"No," Rean shook his head. "I'm going to make some simple puppets and put them inside. You guys speak about sending them to reincarnation to become soul energy. But the important part here is their memories and sentience. I will at least ask what they want. If they decide to reincarnate, then so be it."
"Do you even have the materials to keep a soul intact inside a puppet?" Zangeshu was the one to ask now.
"I do," which Rean answered with certainty. "If I don't care about the level of the puppet or its abilities, then it will be fairly easy. Give me a few days. If you want, you can go ahead with Kentucky, Roan."
Roan nodded. He just wanted Rean to reach a decision fast. "Then we shall do it. Let's go, Kentucky."
"Eh? Oh... Okay." Kentucky accepted, and the two left.
*Zush, zush!*
Roan and Kentucky appeared in the Glacial Corridor, which still had its high concentration of freezing energy in the air.
*Zash!*
In the next second, Roan brandished his Scythe, creating a wave of Dark Element and Divine Energy. There was no need to use Sky Energy if it wasn't necessary. Starlight Energy is precious.
*Boom!*
*Zli, zli, zli, zli...*
Deep blue clouds all around, and another one of those deep blue freezing lights that traveled inside them aimed at Roan. That's what Roan reacted to. With that collision, another huge chunk of ice formed in mid-air before it fell and disappeared into those clouds.
Roan didn't even look at that, flying to Kentucky's back instead. "Let's get out of here. The last thing we need is for us to be found by that Divinity Realm Demon Beast."
Roan then exchanged elements with Rean, who was inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. Following that, he waved his hand, spreading Light Element around the two. Just like that, Roan and Kentucky disappeared from both sight and Divine Senses.
Kentucky flew for a while, getting curious as he progressed. "Where did that hurricane go?"
"Before it came after us, it was moving on its own," Roan explained. "Most likely, it was changed from the Glacial Decay Airstream shape into the hurricane shape by that Scaled Seal in the Divinity Realm. In any case, with us 'gone,' it must have continued on its way south. Whether it kept its hurricane form and returned to the original Airstream form, I don't know, nor do I care. What matters is that it is long gone after we spent over two weeks in our Dimensional Realm."
"I see..." Kentucky was very happy. "Let's hope those seals left with it."
Roan and Kentucky had to stop a several times, entering the Dimensional Realm to recover their energies before continuing. However, that was pretty much the only hindrance they got on the way. It was true that it would have been a lot faster and cheaper to go by Warm Boats. Kentucky and Roan experienced it themselves on this journey. Nonetheless, they eventually reached the west side of the Glacial Corridor.
