Chapter 3499: Who Are They?

*Bang!*

Two of the new SANS Units moved as fast as Yun, much to his surprise. His Domain and power gave him quite a high defense, and he was quite fast due to his race. Yet, he couldn’t stop both of those SANS Units. He managed to block the attack of one of them, but the second one landed a hit right after.

Yun crashed against the ground like a meteor, breaking the buildings below and creating quite a big crater. Fortunately, he was within Celis’s Domain, so all attacks that happened inside the Domain’s range that came from the enemies had part of the power absorbed by Celis.

’Sect Master,’ Yun immediately contacted Abi on the back. ’They are indeed as strong as Space-Time Realm experts, and it is hard to read their movements as their bodies circulate Divine Energy differently. I can hold these two, but I probably won’t last more than a few minutes on my own.’

Abi heard that and looked at the other two Space-Time Realm experts she sent early, Silveria and Romulo. Silveria was fighting another two of those new SANS Units, and she was just slightly better than Yun, but that’s because she was at the Peak Stage of the Space-Time Realm. Nonetheless, it was obvious those two SANS Units had the advantage.

As for Romulo, because he only had to deal with one of the Units, the two of them were quite even. It was hard to tell which one of them would win in the end... if not for Celis’s Domain. Even those new SANS Units couldn’t resist Celis’s Domain, and their Core Energies kept being taken away the longer they stayed inside. In a battle of attrition, Romulo would definitely win in the end.

However, Abi felt something wasn’t right. Those new SANS Units were strong, no doubt, but it also looked like they didn’t know how to control their own power. They were adapting and growing stronger as time passed, even though Celis kept taking more and more Divine Energy from them.

Suddenly, one of the Units fighting Yun circulated its Divine Energy, and a huge projection of a firebird appeared. It came down with immense power, scorching everything around, including SANS and CAU Units nearby.

"What?!" Yun saw that and was shocked, immediately controlling his Space and Time Powers to charge out of the way.

However, he was fighting two of those robots, and the second one was ready when Yun reacted to that attack.

Wind Element accumulated, and three thin wind needles appeared. They then shot forward, aiming exactly where Yun was about to land. One couldn’t underestimate those wind needles, as they carried a power no lower than a normal Space-Time Realm expert’s all-out attack!

Yun gritted his teeth, his Divine Sense catching those needles as he made his way out of the firebird. Earth Element and Laws immediately gathered in an instant, creating a stone skin right where the needles were about to hit him.

*Boom!*

*Puft, puft, puft!*

While the firebird exploded behind, all three needles passed right through the stone skin, piercing deep inside Yun’s hide. As soon as that happened, their elemental power began to wreak havoc inside Yun’s organs, forcing him to redirect a lot of his energy to counter those wind needles.

The Stone Skin earlier wasn’t meaningless, though. Using the shockwave of the explosion caused by the firebird projection, Yun moved away from both those robots while the Stone Skin did indeed reduce the damage by a huge margin. Yun’s thousands of years of experience just saved him in that situation.

One would expect Abi and Grant, who were still waiting behind, to immediately charge into the fight and help Yun. However, both of them looked shocked by what they had just witnessed. "Those attacks..."

CAU03 was even more amazed. "Just what was that?! I’ve never seen any robot controlling Time Power before. None of the designs of the various types of units had this kind of ability included!"

Roan glanced at him, "But you also didn’t know those Units existed in the first place. Perhaps their designs are different from the rest of the robots. I’ll just call them Space-Time Units for now." He then looked at Abi and Grant. "As for the two of you, what are you still waiting for? Aren’t you going to help Yun?"

Abi woke up from her stupor and quickly nodded. "Grant, go help Yun. I’ll stay back in case those two Space-Time Units near the Zoshia Enterprise decide to make a move."

Grant nodded and immediately charged forward. They were all inside Celis’s Domain, and those attacks used against Yun definitely cost those robots a lot.

"Morty," Abi talked to him while observing the situation. "The attacks used by those Space-Time SANS Units..."

"I know," Roan nodded, already aware of what she was about to say. "They were attacks that were previously used by the Core Elders who died during the first attack, right?"

Abi nodded. If she noticed that, the other Core Elders fighting there definitely noticed it, too. "I don’t know if they are copying our elders’ abilities or if those Space-Time Robots are actually..." She didn’t finish her words.

Roan narrowed his eyes. He noticed that the attacks were indeed similar to when living beings used them, although there were huge differences as well. However, he was certain those robots were not truly the elders that died before. ’Celis, can you pay attention to their cores?’

Celis, who kept his Domain running all the time, followed Roan’s orders. ’They are completely different from the cores of the other robots.’

’I know,’ Roan nodded. ’What I want you to tell me is if their cores feel more like Dantians and Demon Beast Cores instead.’

Celis didn’t take long to give an answer. ’Now that you said it, their cores truly are a lot more similar to Dantians and Demon Cores than the robotic cores from the other robots. They aren’t the same, though.’

’As I thought...’ Roan turned back to Abi. "They aren’t your elders. However, those are definitely your elders’ attacks. To be more precise, their Dantians and Cores were modified to fit those new Space-Time Units. That’s why they can use similar types of attacks and power, as well as control Space and Time. Yet, they can’t control the laws your elders once did, as one’s comprehension of laws is individual, and simply moving a Dantian/Demon Core won’t give you that capability."

Abi took a deep breath. "So Lotan, Hudiander, and the other Core Elders’ cores and dantians were removed..." Abi felt bad about that. Even if those elders were still alive somehow, the fact their dantians and cores were removed simply meant their lives were over. It was a fate worse than death to them. "I will tear those scraps of metal apart!"

Roan would very much like to see it happen. "I hope so, but it is not your time to move yet. By the way, how many Core Elders did you lose during that first attack?"

Abi was taken aback for a moment, and then she remembered. She only lost five elders who were in the Space-Time Realm. Yet, there were seven of these new robots... She quickly looked at the other three robots fighting inside Celis’s Domain, and she could recognize their powers and patterns. No doubt those five were using her elders’ cores and dantians. "If that’s the case... who are the other two Space-Time Units near the Zoshia Enterprise Building?"
