Roan didn’t seem very interested in that. "The robots can choose someone willing to give it a try anytime they want. It won’t go anywhere, so leave it aside for the moment. In the end, the Revolution Project was something for the robots and only the robots can make any use of it."

Still, Rean found it strange. "If that was the case, why did Qwerty redirect that message to us? ’To Rick and Morty’ was what it was called."

Roan pondered a bit and understood. "Right, the code he added later. He made us the new leaders of the robots, so the decision to select who would use that Fifth Generation EVO Unit was ultimately in our hands."

"Oh..." Rean had to admit it made sense. "Well, we already gave the robots their freedom anyway, so they can select what they will do with it and who will use it."

All the robots in that place have sentience codes, but they have been in this place for countless years. There were even a few that were similar to CAU03, being part of the very first units to gain sentience.

As they did that, CAU03 spoke to Roan and the others about what he knew. "As far as we are aware, the Evernight World has always been like this. The Zoshia Enterprise fuels the dark energy being aimed at the skies, and everything continues out of the sunlight’s reach. We truly don’t know why it happens, though. We can search the database and see if there is an answer there."

The twins nodded. The first sight they got when they entered the city for the first time was that dark laser or whatever it was that was being aimed upwards. (Chapter 3475)

"As for the creators, it goes without saying that they were long gone before the first Unit gained sentience," CAU03 continued. "From the few records that I had access to, something happened, and that caused all the creators to leave in a hurry, leaving us here to take care of whatever was left behind."

"I’m taking a look at the Database right now," SANS-G02 spoke. He, too, was curious about the same things. "Here! There are quite a few logs from the last years of the creators here in the Evernight World. Oh! That is quite interesting. Even SANS-G01, or Ronk, couldn’t access them before. He didn’t have the authority. We do have now, though, thanks to HAF100." He quickly put it on the screens for everyone there to see.

-The City is an uproar. The start of the anomaly has affected everyone, and even the strongest between us can’t revert the situation. We can only blame ourselves for trying to touch what should be left alone. Now, the only choice is to run and get as far as possible from this place. We created a barrier, a barrier that should contain the anomaly. We modified the robots so they would keep the city running when we were away. Let’s hope it isn’t too late.-

"So..." CAU03 looked around. "Does that mean we were left behind to keep the anomaly in check?"

We have a ton of data to go through, though. Another try is scheduled to take place in 20 days. Let’s see if we can bring it out and keep it.-

"The very essence of laws?" Regardless of the robots or the living beings, everyone in the room was shocked to hear that. For the Space-Time Realm experts and above, laws were something you could comprehend and manipulate depending on your cultivation level. However, none of them ever thought it was possible to reach inside the laws themselves and pull their essence out. First of all, they didn’t even know the laws had essence.

Celis asked Rean, who was further into the facility but still hearing everything. "Rick, those types of essence you used in the past, are they the same thing?"

Indeed, Rean worked with essences before. World Essence, Solar Essence, Yin and Yang Essence, the system even gave the twins a tiny bit of Universe Essence in the past as a reward. At that time, they used it to reinforce their dantians shells to increase their defenses. Nonetheless, it was exactly because of that that Rean shook his head as he took down another woman’s corpse. "It’s not the same thing. The essences I used in the past were still bound by the laws of the Universe."

"They were not the essence of laws at all, and I didn’t even know laws had essence until a minute ago. The creators, however, said they found this essence inside the laws. I can guarantee that the essences I worked with in the past and this essence they talked about are not the same thing. Simply put, the name essence was used for both cases, but we are talking about different types of energy. Well, the normal essences I used were definitely a type of energy, but what about the laws’ essence? Is it an energy? I have no idea."

Abi and the elders of the sect got more and more intrigued by the twins’ group origin. They knew about the existence of essence, but none of them had ever touched it. And yet, Rean said he worked with them before, and more than one type at that.

Thus, to prevent further mistakes, we are labeling this new discovery as Laws Heart. Some suggested using Laws Energy, but since we weren’t sure if what we found was a type of energy, it seemed wrong to take that name. At the very least, no one will mistake Laws Heart for a type of essence again.-

"Well, there you have it," Rean shrugged. "One thing is certain. Whatever this anomaly they talked about was, it most likely was related to the discovery of the Laws Heart."
