Death... and me

Chapter 3625: He’s Dead

Chapter 3625: He’s Dead

Rifindio jolted awake after saying those words. ’Celestial Laws of Blood?!’

He didn’t have time to think about that, though. That’s because his Core, which had just recently reached the Elemental Space Realm Peak Stage, was now full and ready. It was time to enter the Space-Time Realm.

Roan definitely wouldn’t recommend such a thing. This kind of extremely fast and unpredictable cultivation was usually very harmful to both one’s cultivation and foundation. Yet, such a thing didn’t seem to be happening right now. Rifindio was feeling the pain of his own bloodline evolving and his cultivation being pushed to the limits. Yet, they weren’t causing any damage. If anything, they were improving fast and getting sturdier.

Outside, Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky’s eyes suddenly changed. For a moment, they felt a shift in the Celestial Laws of the surroundings. They looked at each other and then back at the Cocoon.

’Just now...’ Kentucky commented.

Roan knew what he meant. ’Yes, it felt just like when we received our Celestial Laws back in the Lisan Universe.’

Rean had his doubts, though. ’But Rifindio is far from the Divinity Realm. Back then, the tribulation caught us during that breakthrough. At most, he would be reaching the Space-Time Realm now. Can he receive the Celestial Laws at the Space-Time Realm?’

Celis had another opinion. ’First of all, who said you could receive the Celestial Laws only at the Divinity Realm? Besides, do you see any tribulations going on here? I certainly can’t see or feel the Tribulation Clouds. The only thing we can feel is that the Celestial Laws are shifting like they did back then, that’s all.’

Rean had to admit Celis was right. ’Indeed... it must be this Dark Green Co-’

Rean was just about to finish his words when suddenly, several rays of light appeared in the skies.

"What are those?" Rean couldn’t help but ask.

Kentucky immediately took flight and tried to look into the distance. He couldn’t see the sources of those lights since they were too far away. However, because they had come from one of such directions before, he understood and spoke. "It’s the Dark Green Cocoons we saw on the way here."

Grititi, Elsie, and Royer, who weren’t part of the internal conversation between the twins’ group, could at least guess something. "Is it related to what is happening to Rifindio?"

It made sense. Why? Because if Kentucky was right, then one thing was different here in this place. Rifindio’s Dark Green Cocoon was not giving any light at all!

*Dludlulduldu...*

At that moment, they began to see the roots connected to Rifindio’s Cocoon moving. No, they weren’t moving. Well, they were, but they weren’t leaving their positions. The movements were internal!

"Are they pumping something?" Elsie pointed out the obvious.

Yes, it looked like the roots connected to Rifindio’s Cocoon were serving as pumps, bringing energy from somewhere else. Looking at the sky and the many lights, each coming from a different Dark Green Cocoon, it was obvious where all the energy was coming from.

"Should we do something?" Kentucky asked as he landed again. "If it is just the roots, I’m pretty sure we can cut them, or at least a few of them. It might be enough to stop whatever is happening."

They wondered if they should intervene...

Inside the Cocoon, Rifindio’s breakthrough happened seamlessly. He reached the Space-Time Realm Initial Stage, and because of his connection with the Celestial Laws of Blood, he could see the normal Blood Laws with perfect clarity. If he had one of Roan’s Laws Pill at the moment, just how good would it be?

However, seeing the laws was one thing; comprehending them was another completely different. Thus, his cultivation didn’t advance anymore. It reached the limit of energy necessary to enter the Middle Stage of the Space-Time Realm, but without the laws, it couldn’t enter that stage.

Instead, all that energy was being absorbed by his body. His bloodline, which was mutated because of Kentucky, seemed to transform into something different. It wasn’t a Camazotz Bat, but it wasn’t going towards Kentucky’s Minokawa Bloodline, either.

Rifindio wasn’t sure what was happening, but he was certain it wasn’t something bad. He just let his bloodline do its own job, not fighting it.

The roots around Rifindio’s body got loose, although they still delivered all that energy to him. With that, Rifindio changed back into his Camazotz Bat form. However, it was changing, and this time, it had nothing to do with Roan’s pills. It was a natural change, a change into something new.

A red plumage appeared on the edges of his bat wings, and several black patterns materialized over his body. Even his structure changed, becoming more nimble than before. But if one had to really point out the thing that received the biggest transformation, it was his teeth. To be more specific, his incisor teeth.

Looking from the outside, one wouldn’t really notice anything different from what they were before. However, Rifindio could tell it. The Celestial Laws of Blood were present in his incisor teeth. For Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and Celis, their Celestial Laws lodged at the soul, but Rifindio was the teeth, showing the difference between their type of interactions.

Outside, hours passed, but the twins’ group had nothing to worry so far. Their previous team didn’t come back to check on them, which made sense. Their Dark Green Cocoon was the only one that wasn’t shooting the rays of light into the sky, so their early group went after those lights.

They didn’t try to intervene with Rifindio’s momentum either. They weren’t sure about what was happening, but they could feel through their Natural Spatial Perceptions that the black dot in space increased in size, a clear sign of a breakthrough. Rifindio’s cultivation now affected the space much more than before.

*Crack, crack, crack...*

Suddenly, the Cocoon began to break apart, and a half-transparent liquid oozed out. It had a terrible smell, making the twins’ group take some distance.

Then, the Dark Green Cocoon turned brown, as if it had died or dried out, collapsing in the next instant. All that was left was a being that looked like a bat but was different from any bat Grititi had seen before. ’Definitely not a Camazotz Bat,’ that was Grititi’s first thought.

Rean jumped into the area, using his Light Element to keep the liquid away from his body before checking Rifindio’s condition. Then, a sad expression appeared on his face. "Sigh... he’s dead. Let’s cremate."

"I’ll cremate your ass!" Rifindio’s cursed out loud. He went through all that shit, and now they wanted to cremate him? Ridiculous!
