105 A Hit to The Shoulder
“Dodghe sighdeways!” The greenish demon quickly shouted as it saw the two sets of runes flash in front of its eyes.
The greenish demon’s reflex to tell the bulky demon to dodge was instant. However, both the greenish demon’s and the bulky demon’s reflexes couldn’t simply outrun two darkness bullets shot from only about a dozen meters away.
But of course, the bulky humanoid demon still tried its best to not be hit by the two attacks that were coming its way.
Instead of jumping backward, the bulky humanoid demon this time jumped sideways and almost practically threw its body to the side so that its whole body would move faster from its current place.
Blake aimed his two darkness bullets respectively at the bulky demon’s face and the bulky demon’s chest.
He had purposely focused his attacks solely on the bulky humanoid demon as he was confident if he was to fight one on one against the demon mage, the better demon mage would win, and that would be him.
By removing the bulky annoying humanoid demon out of the picture, the fight was essentially over as Blake could shower the greenish demon with at least three spells with the time that the greenish demon took to draw the runes to cast a single spell.
However, Blake certainly didn’t expect the bulky demon’s reflex to be so fast that it could somehow dodge one of the darkness bullets completely while minimizing the damage that the other had done by moving its chest out of the way.
The darkness bullet that was supposed to hit the bulky humanoid demon’s face only grazed its forehead while the other one that was aimed toward its chest hit its shoulder instead.
.....
A hit to the shoulder might not be what Blake wanted and it didn’t do fatal damage to the bulky humanoid demon either.
However, a hit to the shoulder couldn’t be regarded as useless either as the darkness bullet had completely destroyed the bulky humanoid demon’s shoulder muscles, essentially incapacitating the bulky humanoid demon’s left arm.
The darkness bullet shot at that range was strong enough to destroy a humanoid demon’s muscle with a relatively strong physique, but alas it wasn’t enough to destroy the bones and thus the bulky humanoid still had its left arm intact despite it having become useless.
Blake was quite disappointed that his sneaky attack didn’t work as he wanted it to.
But seeing the damage that it had done, Blake quickly recognized the chance and opportunity his ‘failed’ attack had brought him and quickly started drawing another set of runes.
The greenish demon, who had almost fallen off the bulky humanoid demon’s back due to how sudden and powerful the bulky humanoid demon had jerked its body sideways, quickly regained its composure after a split second and noticed what Blake was currently doing.
So even before Blake had finished drawing his runes, the greenish demon quickly urged the bulky humanoid demon to move while repeatedly hitting the bulky humanoid demon’s back.
“Rughn! Moghve! Dghon’t staghnd stghill!!”
The bulky humanoid demon was trained beforehand to literally be a walking tank that charged straight into the humanoid demons’ enemies without a shred of hesitation in its heart.
But despite that, being a humanoid demon instead of a demonic beast, the bulky humanoid demon was still capable of its own thought.
Just from knowing the fact that it was currently faced against a variant type demon that had killed four other humanoid demons without receiving a single scar on its body, added with the fact that it was completely blind to the attacks that it had just received without the greenish demon’s instructions, even the bulky humanoid demon’s trained heart and discipline began to waver.
The bulky humanoid demon took almost a whole second to stomach the severe pain it was currently feeling with one of its shoulder muscles being completely destroyed before it finally registered the greenish demon’s command to run away.
With the massive hesitation and wariness, the bulky humanoid demon had after receiving a large wound on its shoulder without even knowing how it had happened, the command to run away was the very first thing that it wanted to hear.
So when the bulky humanoid demon’s ears registered the command, it quickly transferred the strength from all over its body to its legs to try and run away as fast as it could.
However, despite having used more energy and effort than before, the split second that the bulky humanoid used to shelve the pain it felt on its shoulder was all that Blake needed to complete another two sets of the darkness bullet spell with each hand.
And another split second that the bulky humanoid demon took to register the command was also the time that the darkness bullet spells to manifest themselves and shot themselves forward.
The result might have been the same as before if the bulky humanoid demon jumped sideways again, and Blake’s darkness bullet spell might have missed its marks again.
However, with simple commands such as “run”, “move”, and “don’t stand still”, and the inability to actually recognize what spell its enemy had cast, the bulky humanoid demon chose to run in a straight direction.
And the smallest gap available between the darkness bullet traveling through the air before reaching the bulky humanoid demon’s body was wasted by the bulky humanoid demon not moving sideways.
The end result then was just what Blake wanted.
Instead of aiming toward the bulky humanoid demon’s head or chest again as he was afraid of it dodging his attacks again, Blake chose other targets instead and aimed at the bulky humanoid demon’s legs.
With the bulky humanoid demon running straight, the darkness bullets then continued to fly straight and crashed themselves against the bulky humanoid demon’s legs, once again destroying the thigh muscles on both legs.
No matter how light its body was from the wings’ effect, without the ability to move its legs, the bulky humanoid demon soon found itself crashing head-first onto the ground.
And right before it happened, the greenish demon already decided to leave the bulky humanoid demon alone as it jumped from the bulky humanoid demon’s back and ran away alone.
Blake saw what the greenish demon was doing, but he knew his priorities and quickly drew another two sets of runes.
It was the same two sets of runes as the first one that he had prepared for the bulky humanoid demon and it had also dodged thanks to the greenish demon’s warning.
But now without the greenish demon nor the ability to walk, the two spells quickly manifested themselves and successfully hit their targets.
Dozens of darkness tendrils soon locked the bulky humanoid demon’s body onto the ground before a huge earth spike popped out from the ground right below the bulky humanoid demon’s skull, cracking the skull open and splattering the brain matter inside.
