123 Preparations to Go To The Main Continent (2)

“rr?”

“No Robus, it’s not like I am necessarily searching for them or the weak wolves whenever I want to test something new.”

“R?”

“Yes, it was all a coincidence. It was as if someone is making us meet these weak creatures every time I want to test out something new. Not that I want to complain about it though, it helps to test out spells on creatures that we could defeat any time we want with a wave of our hands.”

“Rrr? rrr.”

“Yes, that is a figure of speech. You could say you could defeat them with a few swings of your arms instead if you want it to be more accurate for your case.”

“R.” Robus shrugged.

“Alright then, now let’s watch me defeat these boars without me casting a single spell with my own hands!” Blake declared as he started rummaging through his dimensional pouch.

Different from the spatial bag that had much more space with its bigger body, the dimensional pouch was the same pouch that Blake brought everywhere when he went hunting.

.....

It was the same pouch that could fit the 6-meter-tall crow. And now, it was filled with the vessel of the new rune formations that he just made after finishing his experiment.

Blake then used his wings to silently glide in the air as he got closer and closer to the group of boars.

And the moment his feet touched the ground, only some distance away from the boars, Blake knew that it was his time to act.

When Blake’s feet fell to the ground, all the boars noticed his presence and quickly turned their bodies toward him.

But even though it was quick for the boar to notice his whereabouts, Blake had already had his eyes on them longer than they noticed him.

He already thought of a few plans even before he started gliding in the air, and the moment the boars all turned towards him, Blake had already finished his first move.

“I choose you, earth sink!” Blake shouted as he threw two balls made out of wood right at the group of boars.

The two wooden balls were of course not just some ordinary wooden balls. Their surfaces were filled with rune inscriptions.

And with Blake sending his nether through them before throwing them to the boars, they were already activated and ready to manifest the spells contained inside, right at the moment when they landed on the ground in between the boars.

The boars all braced for impact when they saw the small wooden balls thrown at them, but after seeing the balls only landed on the ground near them without actually hitting them, the boars quickly put their attention back on the creature that had thrown those balls.

The boars saw Blake already had more balls in his hands, and despite them thinking that the balls didn’t actually do anything to them, they still considered the balls as a form of an attack and they were ready to return the favor to Blake.

But before they could even take a single step forward toward Blake, the ground beneath them shook before they suddenly lost their footing.

The five boars that stood relatively near each other were suddenly funneled into a three-Blake-deep hole, with little to no space that they could use to gather any momentum to jump out of.

And as if Blake wanted to absolutely prevent them from getting out of the hole, Blake threw more balls before the ground began to shake again when they were activated.

But this time, instead of creating another hole, the earth around the hole began to rise diagonally upward, almost closing off the entrance of the hole, only leaving a head-sized hole right in the middle of the diagonal earth walls.

“What do you think, Robus?” Blake asked right as he started making his way leisurely onto the cage that he made for the boars.

“Rrr.”

“Well, you’re right, it’s not too different from me using my own spells.”

“But didn’t you see that all I had to do to win this fight was to use a little bit of nether and throw some balls? I don’t even need to draw a single rune in this fight.”

“rr.”

“Ah right, they are still not dead yet, so I haven’t won the fight.”

Blake then grabbed a single rune formation from his dimensional pouch.

Different from the two initial spells that were inscribed onto a wooden ball, this time, the rune formation was inscribed onto a small triangle that was also made out of wood.

The runes on the triangle then flashed. And as if he didn’t want the rune formation to activate right beside him, Blake quickly threw the wooden triangle inside the hole.

And just a second after the wooden triangle landed on one of the boar’s backs due to how cramped the space inside was, the spell inside the triangle manifested itself.

Similar yet different to the myriad of darkness tendrils spell, the nether around the boars started to surge up to an abundant amount, making the weak boars quickly realize that they weren’t the enemy of the creature that they just faced, but in fact, they were only a prey.

The boars tried to save themselves by trying to jump up, but the distance was too far away, and the ones that were strong enough to jump slightly past the hole were obstructed by the diagonal earth walls.

And in the end, as the rune formation manifested itself and created more than a dozen earth spikes that came from all directions since the spell was cast underground, the boars could do nothing as their bodies were pierced, not by hundreds of darkness tendrils, but by tens of half a man-sized earth spikes.

Both were very painful, but the earth spikes were bigger and caused them less pain as they died sooner when an earth spike about 1 meter tall poked their skulls.

After making sure that he didn’t hear any more squeals or any sounds coming from the hole, Blake then tossed two more wooden balls inside the hole.

And when they activated, the ground that had sunk from the initial rune formation now rose back up until the chunks of the earth spikes that stabbed themselves onto the boars crashed onto the diagonal earth walls that almost closed off the hole.

Right as Blake wanted to ask for Robus’ help to crack the walls open so that they could eat the souls, Blake suddenly heard a loud voice coming from his home’s direction.

‘Vera is ready!’

“Let’s hurry and eat up these souls Robus, it’s time for us to go!” Blake said as he urged Robus to break the walls with his huge fist because his own fist was too weak to do it.

“Rrr..”

“Yes, yes, I will find a way to strengthen my physique later!”
