177 A Not-So Meticulous Plan
The moment Blake understood what was happening, Blake instantly went back to his friends the moment the coast was clear.
Blake didn’t know how many humanoid demons were left inside the humanoid demon’s base.
However, seeing dozens of humanoid demons with considerable strength left the base along with the humanoid demon that most likely came from the deeper realm and gave off an intimidating aura even to him, Blake couldn’t see any other chance, the one that was better than the current situation.
So he quickly brought the news back to his two friends.
Robus and Cyra actually didn’t have any thoughts about what kind of plan they should create or what moves they should do as strategizing wasn’t really their thing considering the both of them have a tendency to do things on their own whim before meeting Blake.
Saying the two of them were the demons that ruled over a territory and could almost do anything they wanted was essentially not wrong and that condition translates to their current mindset.
Robus had started to learn the word caution due to being with Blake for so long, but he still didn’t know how to make a plan. And that’s why in the end, Blake had to make the plan on his own.
Which was also nothing new to him.
And just like before, to make a proper plan, Blake needed to do a proper investigation. He would certainly do one as he didn’t want to make another fatal mistake.
.....
However, he wouldn’t be able to do anything for too long as he didn’t know how long the entourage of the strong humanoid demons and the muscular demon would go away.
Fortunately, he didn’t have to do it for that long as the humanoid demon’s base in the forest didn’t look anything too different from the humanoid demon base that he and his group had ransacked about a week ago.
The only thing that he would need to take note of was the black stone towers that weren’t done yet in the first humanoid demon’s base.
However, whatever the rune formations written in the rune formation were, Vera had shown Blake how to temper with a rune formation that wasn’t protected.
And yes, none of the rune formations that were drawn in the first demon realm by the humanoid demons from the deeper realm were protected. But how could they be blamed for that? They wouldn’t have known that someone from an even deeper realm exists in the realm they were infiltrating.
And the student of that demon was currently running around their base carefully, moving through the trees and using their covers to get close enough to the black stone towers, reading the runes he recognized, studying the flow of the runes carefully, memorizing it with his mind, before then finally casting the spell that Vera had taught him at the rune formation’s weakest point, essentially turning the rune formations to a scribble on the wall.
And after learning the rune formations on one black stone tower and then checking another black stone tower to see the exact same rune, with just only a slight alteration, Blake had already guessed what the other rune formations written on the other black stone towers were and he knew that disabling each one of them was unnecessary.
Rendering one of the black stone towers useless was more than enough, so he didn’t waste his precious time and quickly went back to the forest to do some more preparations first.
The quick plan that he made was quite risky, and to lessen the riskiness, Blake would have needed to spend more time, which means tightening the time window he had, which he didn’t want to happen.
Hence why if he wanted to get out of risky situations, more preparations and contingency plans were also needed to be prepared if the situations turned too sticky.
And to do that, Blake began getting branches of wood, using his claws to shape them into wooden balls and wooden cubes, before then using his claws and nether again to write demonic runes.
Blake was preparing more than just several of them. He was making a literal dozen of them, which had turned out faster than he first expected when Cyra decided to come visit him and showed him how she often drew on rocks with her flames.
Seeing how easily the flames could be used to write and draw on tough surfaces like stones and boulders, Blake instantly adopted her method and used her flames to draw on the wooden cubes and balls.
Of course, the flame was concentrated like a laser that it had actually burned off certain parts of the wooden constructs without actually burning the entire thing.
And although Blake still couldn’t do it as Cyra did, just open her palms and the flames started dancing on their own to create drawings of the runes, Blake now didn’t need to use his claws, which weren’t really developed in the first place due to him rarely using it, and he could just use his fingers to channel his fire elemental nether and use the fingers as a funnel to make sure that the flames were in his absolute control.
Without scratching wood using his claws, Blake finished the dozen rune formations in the form of wooden cubes and balls in just about 15 minutes, ready to throw them around to save him from a predicament or create a predicament for his enemies.
“Are you ready folks?” Blake turned to his two friends that had been dilly-dallying around while he was working on the wood cubes and balls.
They had actually not rested yet when they just arrived on the second humanoid demon base as they quickly infiltrated into the forest to find the humanoid demons in the base were up to something.
However, the three of them were not like some ordinary humans that needed about 7 hours of sleep every day to keep their bodies in top condition.
Not only did Robus’ physique stat was probably sky high and it took more than just a few days of tracking for him to actually feel his performance dropping, but Cyra was also a walking nether sucker that replenish her nether more than double the time of other ordinary demons. If anything, the only thing that could make her performance drop was her mental state.
And being a variant demon that had a unique case of her own, getting her to feel mental fatigue proved to be rather impossible as Blake kept on playing with her, something that she really liked and actually anticipated very much, daily, giving her little to no excuse to feel mentally exhausted.
For Blake himself, his body was good and he didn’t feel any soreness in his body due to most of the way they were traveling, he sat on Robus’ back.
But different from Cyra, who was a variant from birth and had a different thought process even from other demons, Blake was born a human, and not getting his rest that was totally suggestive of his mind rather than actual bodily needs, had affected him a little.
But the thought of wasting such a golden opportunity was deemed to be more important than his current minor mental fatigue, so Blake quickly led his two friends and told them his not-so-meticulously crafted plan. But of course, due to his last experience, Blake had essentially made a surefire way of getting out of sticky situations so he won’t be in a life-or-death situation again.
Blake then told the two about what they would do, what he would do, and what they should expect. And of course, Blake explained it simple enough that the two wouldn’t be misunderstanding him. And he even asked them several questions to make sure that they really did have the same thought as him before finally leading them to the side of the forest that was right in front of the front gate of the humanoid demon base.
The three of them then got close to the front gate. Close enough that Cyra’s fireball would still be in full power when it traveled the distance, but not too close that the humanoid demons standing guard at the front gate would notice their presence.
Blake then looked at his two friends. One was excited as she would be playing something big and exciting again with his brother while the other one was anticipating the souls he would be getting after ransacking another humanoid demon’s base.
After learning how many souls he got to eat if he were to rampage on a humanoid demon’s base, Robus would definitely be excited to have another one.
“Robus, wear your armor first.”
“Rr.” The runes on Robus’ chest then flashed before dark earth began to form on his chest, spreading to all parts of his body, leaving nothing but a slit for his eyes to peek through.
Blake had told him what he would do, and he knew that he would be going in together with Cyra.
And after spending some time with the little fiery demoness that couldn’t sit still on his back at all, Robus had known what it meant when he would be working together with the little ball of energy.
And him making his armor literally cover all parts of his body, including most parts of his face, was a result of his experience with the little demoness. He didn’t want his face to be blown with intense heat that could even melt bones if the little demoness really wanted to do it.
After seeing his best friend make a thorough preparation, Blake nodded his head in agreement as he himself knew exactly what would happen next and he would also do the same as Robus if not for his new bloodline power giving him the same fire resistance that Cyra had.
And when Robus walked a few steps to the side, just like he had told him before, Blake then finally shifted his attention to Cyra, who was more than eager to cause chaos in the whole base as her playtime of the day.
“Let’s do it, Cyra!”
“Yes, brother!”
Blake and Cyra then stood side to side, facing each other, with a nod of Blake’s head, the two then put their hands right in front of each other, leaving enough space between the two of them for an object the size of Robus’ fist to fit in.
Then with a short, “Go!” from Blake, the two then began pouring in their nether to their hands.
