193 Explosion

Never in his lifetime that Blake thought the current event happening right in front of his eyes would enter his eyesight. It didn’t even enter his mind that such a possibility would happen, let alone him thinking that he would see such a sight one day.

Seeing hundreds of humanoid demons in a relatively close space was not a sight that he hadn’t seen before, in fact, he had seen it when he first went into the first humanoid demon’s base, seeing hundreds of humanoid demons walking around everywhere inside or outside the base, doing whatever their minds were set to do.

However, the current circumstances differ from that scene. In Blake’s eyes, past the buildings of the forest base, the tall walls that were still intact, there were hundreds of demons of all kinds, not just humanoid demons, rushing in the base direction, or more precisely, his direction.

And not like when Blake saw the humanoid demons back then where they were all somewhat disorganized, split into groups that went into doing their own thing, the horde that entered Blake’s vision all did nothing other than doing their best to run forward, seemingly didn’t have any other goal than moving forward.

The distance between Blake and the horde was still quite far away for Blake to see the details of members of the horde’s appearance. However, it was close enough for Blake to tell that the horde really consists of different kinds of demons bundled up together.

Humanoid demons and Demonic beasts were just lumped into a single giant horde, each of them running side by side at a relatively similar speed, moving their limbs tirelessly as they got closer and closer to the forest base.

After knowing slightly about the cultures of the demons in the first demon realms and their behavior, Blake also knew that such a sight was rare, rather impossible, compared to when hundreds of humanoid demons gathered together in a single place to create a tiny city-like base.

Not only the question about how the humanoid demons could even walk side by side with the demonic beasts without being attacked but the fact that hundreds of the two species of demons were literally muddled up with each other, the question of how to control that much demonic beasts in the first place was already an impossible question to answer in Blake’s mind.

With his curiosity completely being called upon from the depths of his mind, Blake decided to use the flame explosions and his wings to move and glide closer to the horde of demons.

.....

And when he was finally close enough to the horde, Blake could finally see clearly the appearance of those demons that had curiously formed a large group together without biting and tearing each other apart.

Upon his eyes laying on the details of the sight, his earlier questions about how two different species of demons, so many of them could work with each other and move as if they all had one mind had all disappeared into the back of his mind as a new question, bigger than his earlier questions appeared.

‘What the heck had happened to them…?’ This exact question appeared in Blake’s mind when he saw the horde.

The bodies of the demons that were marching in his direction could be said to be nothing but normal. Not only their skin colors were all pale in general, but there were open wounds plastered onto their bodies while they were still seemingly forcing their body to run forward.

Some had a part of their face torn, some had missing limbs, and some also had holes in their torso or abdomen.

No matter how Blake thought about it using numerous perspectives, it didn’t register in his mind about how those demons were still able to move so ferociously, running forward with almost all their might as if they were in their top condition.

The horde stretched upon the horizon and even though Blake now had the capability to see the details of the demons running at the front of the horde, he still was not capable of seeing the ends of the horde left.

Which means, ‘There might even be thousands of them…’

Blake took an audible gulp as he thought about the sheer number of demons in the horde and what would happen if he decided to fight them.

‘It might be possible with Cyra’s flame and mine, but if a lot of them were as strong as a demonic beast that was worth 7 souls and had a strong bloodline power, then…’

His flame’s and Cyra’s were definitely a force to be reckoned with, especially when their targets were a mass of weaker creatures that couldn’t defend themselves properly. In a massive horde where the demons were close to each other in position, the dark flame would even be more potent as the dark flame could spread easier, burning more and more demons as time passes.

However, if there were strong demons that had the ability to snuff out his and Cyra’s flame, then the matter would be far more difficult. If those entities existed in large numbers, then he or Cyra would have to spend a significant amount of their nether and attention in dealing with those existences that could threaten them with their powers.

In the end, Blake did not get any answers to any of his questions yet, but he decided to leave the scene nonetheless as he was certain about what he should do first.

Changing the angle of his wings and his body down toward where his two friends were, Blake even used the flame explosions to push his body down faster. He still had an unfinished business down there and he would like to finish it first before thinking about dealing with another.

His feet landed on the ground with a loud dull sound, but his body was protected nonetheless despite the rough landing because of the dark earth armor covering his body.

“Robus, we’ll be going into the forest very soon, can you go there first to observe the situation? Come back here as soon as you spot a humanoid demon. Stay there and wait for me and Cyra if you see none.”

Blake’s command entered Robus’ ear before the huge gorilla turned his body towards the destroyed front gate and kicked his feet against the ground, leaping far forward.

“Cyra, let’s finish this quick!” Blake called over as he spread his two hands to the front, waiting for Cyra to do the same as they prepared to create and launch their strongest combination spell with the most amount of dark flame condensed into a dark flame fireball.

The tremble he felt in his feet had become even stronger now, only someone who was floating would not feel the shaking that both Blake and Cyra felt.

The two demons then repeated the same action of holding their hands close to each other, but not close enough to touch, before they started pouring their nether into the space in between their hands.

This time, right after finishing a darkness bullet spell and holding the rune right in the middle of the condensed dark flame that began to take a toll on Cyra’s and Blake’s minds to control and prevent it from berserking, Blake helped Cyra to fully focus on controlling the dark flame elements from flaring out instead of also pouring in his fiery nether.

Cyra had huge enough output to send an abundant amount of fiery nether to supply the dark flame fireball with more flames, the thing that she needed help with was the control of the dark flames, preventing the abundant amount of dark flames from getting out of her control.

Of course, Blake was still inferior in this regard compared to Cyra. However, with him focusing on holding one spell with one hand while his other hand also focused on keeping the dark flames from seeping out, it became easier for him instead of one hand holding his spell from activating and the other sending out his nether constantly.

It also eased Cyra’s burden albeit a little, but it was more than enough for Cyra to be able to put in even more dark flame compared to when the two of them blew up the front gate of the humanoid demon’s base.

“Brother! I can’t hold in much more!” Cyra slowed down her input of nether, shifting most of her attention and focus on keeping the dark flame fireball only as big as Blake’s head.

Blake heard Cyra’s words and nodded his head. “Release them when I give you the sign!”

Blake made sure the floating runes in front of his palm were now placed right in the middle of the condensed dark flame.

His hand then became steadier than ever, his eyes locked onto the muscular humanoid demon’s head that popped out of the walls of dark earth, unable to move even an inch to the side due to the darkness tendrils and the dark earth walls clamping his head firmly.

“Now!”

Hearing the command that she was waiting for, Vera let go of her control over the dark flame fireball, finally freeing herself from the taxing responsibility that was even hard to do for her despite the flames feeling like an extension of her own limbs.

At the same time as his mouth opened, Blake had let go of his hold from the darkness bullet spell, letting it manifest onto the world while his left hand poured as much fiery nether as possible in the small time window before the dark flame bundle was carried by the dark flame bullet, making the already dense packed dark flame fireball filled with even more dark flame.

The dark flame bullet, the biggest one that Blake and Cyra had ever created in their entire life, finally shot out from the middle of their hands, straight onto their target in the middle of the hole.

And what happened next could be summed up to be the loudest explosion that Blake and Cyra ever felt and heard in their entire life.
