The war with the elves raged on, its chaos spreading across multiple sectors.

In the vast scale of these conflicts, even figures of the Magus realm were no more than soldiers on the frontlines. Grand Magus commanded legions, while Supreme Magus were seen as the kings of the battlefield.

Their mere presence could tip the balance of power, their abilities shaping the fate of entire sectors.

When it came to the Nixar Expanse, a sector on the verge of collapse, that delicate balance hung by a thread. The sector was under the command of a lone Supreme Magus, the highest authority overseeing its defense, with around 100 Grand Magus deployed by the Magus Alliance. Additionally, several local Grand Magus, unwilling to leave their home systems behind, had joined the defense. Yet despite their numbers, they were spread too thin across the many battlefronts, unable to hold back the overwhelming force of the elves.

The Citadel, a vital stronghold on the planet, was one of the last lines of defense. Here, fourteen Grand Magus stood guard, including four local Gradn Magus realm Valryn natives. The recent arrival of Major Kouga, along with his three Ghostblade operatives, brought a glimmer of hope.

Kouga's mission was to deliver a decisive blow to the elven command by deploying a special team of elite Grand Magus. However, they couldn't afford to spare too many of their strongest warriors—most were needed to defend the Citadel itself.

Emery arrived at the northern outpost of the Citadel, where the special unit gathered for the mission. Major Kouga and his three Ghostblade operatives stood silently, their dark uniforms blending into the shadows, exuding an air of deadly efficiency. With them were two other notable figures: Dopa, a hulking Grand Magus radiating sheer combat energy, and Helga, a calm but powerful Spirit Master with a focused aura. Two Valryn locals were also present: the Princess of Valryn, her regal presence a clear sign of her commitment to her people, and her elder advisor, Archie, a seasoned Grand Magus with a discerning and steady gaze.

Emery surveyed the group, using his VIA knowledge and divine sense to quickly assess their strength. Dopa and Archie were both two-cosmos Grand Magus, while Major Kouga was at the peak of two-cosmos. The rest of the team consisted of one-cosmos Grand Magus.

As Emery introduced himself, the group's initial indifference was palpable—most of them were seasoned warriors focused on rank and battlefield experience. But when Major Kouga mentioned Emery's spatial abilities, their attitude shifted. What had once been dismissiveness now turned into flickers of curiosity.

"Alright, everyone, listen up!" Major Kouga's voice cut through the silence, crisp and authoritative. He unfurled a detailed map, projecting the mission parameters and marking their target: one of the three elven fortresses scattered across the northern desert.

Intelligence gathered by the Magus Alliance suggested there were nine elven Grand Magus stationed in Valryn, divided across the three fortresses. If the plan went as intended, the special unit of nine would only face three elven Grand Magus.

While the numbers seemed to favor the Alliance, every Grand Magus in the group understood the formidable strength of their elven adversaries.

Their primary target was Azrazel, a powerful two-cosmos Grand Magus and the highest-ranking elven commander on the planet. Wanted by the Alliance for a litany of crimes against humanity, his elimination would strike a crippling blow to the elven forces.

"Let's move out!" Major Kouga commanded.

Without hesitation, the team launched from the Citadel, cutting across the barren northern desert under a darkening sky. Their movements were swift and practiced. They slipped through the ranks of heavily guarded elven outposts, their presence undetected. When the occasional elven scout or guard caught sight of them, the Ghostblade operatives struck with lethal precision, ensuring no one would alert the enemy.

After hours of navigating the harsh desert landscape, the team arrived at their destination: the elven fortress housing Azrazel. Its towering walls and dark spires radiated ominous energy, a stark contrast to the empty expanse surrounding it. The fortress loomed in the distance, its presence a palpable threat in the air.

Stealth was paramount. Thousands of elven soldiers patrolled the perimeter, and their vigilance was unparalleled. Helga, the Spirit Master, cast an advanced concealment spell. The spell cloaked the team in an invisible shroud, rendering them undetectable by the fortress's advanced scanning arrays and sentinels.

Moving as one, they glided past the dark elf patrols without a whisper of detection.

Finally, they reached the inner walls of the fortress. As expected, it was reinforced with a powerful barrier, shimmering faintly under the night sky. The air was thick with arcane energy, and the hum of a spatial disruptor field—a system designed to block unauthorized teleportation—vibrated through the atmosphere.

Breaking through the barrier by force wasn't an option. The resulting alarm would trigger a full-scale response from the fortress, making the mission far more difficult.

"I'll handle this," Kouga said, his voice steady and confident.

Clutching a high-grade talisman, Kouga began chanting an ancient incantation. His voice resonated with power, each syllable deep and commanding. The talisman pulsed with energy, its light flaring up before bursting into flames. In a matter of seconds, the talisman's energy surged forward, tearing a narrow gap in the barrier.

Without a moment's pause, the team slipped through the opening, regrouping inside the fortress.

Emery and Helga extended their divine senses, focusing on the dense energy signatures within the fortress. After a moment's concentration, they located Azrazel's unmistakable aura—strong and distinct—emanating from a hidden chamber deep within the mountain stronghold.

"Found him," Emery whispered.

With their target located, the team split into three groups. Major Kouga and his elite Ghostblade squad would head straight for Azrazel's chamber, ready to eliminate him at any cost. The second group would act as support for the first group, while the third group would prepare the escape path for them.

The stage was set for a decisive confrontation.
