FLASH!

Jotun smiled, as she released a wave of light towards me, my mind suddenly awakened, as I felt something… no, I felt many.

“W-What is this?!”

Suddenly, within my head, I could see a map of the world, and far away, several golden dots, they were…

“That is a special ability I possess, and you as the Dragon King will now have,” she said. “It’ll help you locate my children easily around the globe.”

“Oh, it does works well… So where’s Amethyst… hm?” I raised an eyebrow, noticing something, Amethyst was deeper into the continent than I imagined. “She’s in some place known as the Dry Sea?”

“It’s a gigantic desert that was once part of the ocean,” explained Jotun. “There, powerful Divine Monsters live, she has been living there since you defeated her in the tournament. However, even when she’s hunting there every day, her growth has been mostly stagnant… she’s not doing it right.”

“I see… And that’s where I enter,” I nodded. “If I was able to make of Surtr and Emerald into powerful dragons, then you can count on me that I’ll do my best with her, right?”

“…Of course, we already know that there’s nobody better than you, Dragon King! Hohoh,” laughed Jotun, she seemed sleepy, her cheerful personality wasn’t quite there, although she did laugh as she usually did. “But she might still need my guidance or that of her siblings, hopefully, you can include us into the whole teaching part.”

“Sure thing,” I nodded. “Then I’ll be leaving for now, Aunt Jotun, I have something to-“

“Wait a second, son,” she said. “I want to ask you… what do you see in Amethyst that made you want to train her so much? Don’t tell me you’re interested in her? I mean, she’s strong so I bet she could make strong children but-“

“That’s not it!” I facepalmed. “Ugh, listen, she has incredible potential. She’s a perfect hybrid between Earth and Light Dragons, just like I am a perfect hybrid between Ice and Dark Dragons. I simply… I guess I saw her as someone similar to me.”

“…I see!” she nodded. “Hmph… indeed, the reason why she has been mostly ostracized her entire life might be what brings that brat to greatness. I’ll ask you only one thing, have patience with her, she can be quite rash, reckless, childish, and sometimes a bit snarky, but she has a kind heart.”

“I understand,” I nodded. “Leave it to me.”

“Thank you Drake… Now…” she yawned. “I should go back to sleep…”

“You sleep even after…?” I asked.

“Even after I died? Of course, my soul is gigantic and powerful, I am one of the Draconic Record’s pillars and…” she yawned again. “It sometimes puts a toll on my soul… so I like sleeping for a loooong while. I’ll be awake when you find her though.”

“I see… thank you,” I nodded.

After that, I quickly moved to the Dark Dragon Realm, where I met my grandmother.

“Oh! Dear Drake! You came to visit out of nowhere?”

Her gigantic crimson eyes greeted me amidst the eternal night of this Realm.

“Yeah grandma, I wanted to ask you if you could help me awaken my ability to detect the Dark Dragons around the globe.”

“Oh, but why? You should awaken it sooner or later…”

“Well, there’s a lot going on outside, you know right?”

“…Ah, yes, yes.”

“I am going to Svartalfheim, and I’ve heard that there’s where a lot of Dark Dragons live,” I said. “I want to find them and rally them together and help them in anything I can. There’s a lot of chaos out there, and I’m trying to fix things.”

“Oh, I see… well, there’s a certain someone that has awakened… well, powers similar to you,” she said out of nowhere.

“…A certain someone?” I asked.

“Yes, he might have been the one that harmed your friend, Emerald and took away his ability to fly,” she explained.

“Wait, what?! That’s… the dark dragon that Emerald described!” I said. “He’s… he had demonic powers, and a deadly curse…”

“Indeed, he’s, like you, a Demon King,” she said. “Be careful with him, unlike the rest of my children, he is very detached from the Draconic Records and has walked a dark path since birth… not all Dragons are good, Drake, and you may have to find that out the hard way.”

“No, I know perfectly well what you meant…” I sighed, remembering my older brother. “I’ll take care of him… and do what I must if he doesn’t cooperate at the end.”

“…Thank you, I know this is hard, it’s even harder for me to ask you this,” she sighed. “Asking you to take down one of my children… well, he’s a descendant, probably fourth or fifth generation but even then, all are my children…”

“I understand…” I nodded.

“Then,” she released a wave of darkness, awakening within me the ability I needed to find the Dark Dragons.

And indeed, among them, there was a gigantic red dot, overflowing with power.

“His name is Umbral, be careful… you may be much stronger now, but he’s still a Demon King.”

“Alright, thank you, grandma. I’ll be careful.”

With that done, I stepped out of my Draconic Records and spent the rest of the time analyzing the world around me with these newfound powers.

Amethyst, Umbral, the Zipangu and Earth “assimilation”, and Oberon, all these issues that I need to tackle down quickly will sure stress me out.

I need to be prepared, both physically and mentally.

For the next days, I continued meditating, letting my energies flow through my body, refining it, all while I farmed demonic energy inside my divine realm.

After three days of traveling through the seas, we were able to finally go past the great blue ocean, finally seeing the shores of Svartalfheim.

It sure was far away, huh? Well, each continent is planet-sized, and the seas separating them have to be equally enormous too.

“And here we are! Home sweet home… Huh?”

However, as I walked towards the deck, I heard Charlotte’s confused voice.
