The Poison God didn’t do anything to stop Grimsight from leaving. As much as he felt offended at the moment, he couldn’t let his anger cloud his judgment.

Spearheaven was a man whose might was a topic among even the gods during the war. Even if he was old, he was still strong enough to wound him right then.

The Poison God did have some secret treasures of his own he could use should the two of them get into a serious battle, but doing so would only bring more problems.

The chances of victory against Spearheaven alone weren’t certain. On top of that, he was being watched all around by many gods, who no doubt wanted to see what treasures he held in his arsenal.

Revealing anything was making himself weaker before the others, and the Poison God didn’t want to do that. Not to mention, while he could justify anything within the courtyard as being his dominion, the battle would likely spill out of the courtyard, which would cause him issues with the Alchemy God.

If enough complaints were made, he could even lose his spot in the court of gods. They could not remove his title of a god, but they could certainly reduce his influence in future events, and he would be able to do nothing at all.

Thus, he swallowed his anger and did not lash out. Still, not all of it needed to be swallowed.

"Bonedust, tell the Alchemy God that I wish to speak to him," he said.

Bonedust took a moment to realize that she was being spoken to. She was so thoroughly shocked by the whole event that she could barely react to his words.

"R-right away, master!"

Alex walked behind the Archery God, who walked side by side with Grimsight. The woman said nothing, simply walking casually with her hands clasped behind her back.

Grimsight seemed to not want to focus on her either, so he walked silently.

The Archery God was dressed so simply that she drew no eyes at all. No one knew she was even a god. People walked right past her, only sometimes turning to look in their direction. And the only reason they even did that was because of the alchemists instead of anyone else.

Momo walked beside him, holding onto his arm tightly. She was still quite shaken by the entire ordeal.

Alex leaned toward Silvermist and asked, "Master, were you aware of senior Grimsight being asked to become a god?"

Silvermist shook his head. "I knew he was once a Spear Sage, but I simply thought he never got the chance to become a god."

Alex raised an eyebrow. So Grimsight had lied to Silvermist? Based on their relationship now, he could have never imagined. He looked back at Grimsight, wondering how things could have changed for the old man had he become a god.

’He would’ve become a Spear God, wouldn’t he?’ Alex thought.

Would the man still have gotten old had he become a god? Would he have all these wounds? All these scars? Would he be able to heal?

Would he even then be, by his own words, mortal?

Alex could only wonder. He didn’t have the answers to any of his questions and most likely wouldn’t. Grimsight didn’t seem the type to share his life’s story so easily.

Alex was lost in his thoughts for most of the journey back, so he didn’t even realize how much time had passed when he finally arrived back at the courtyard.

The Archery God followed them all the way, so Silvermist quickly moved to invite her into the courtyard. The woman accepted.

Pearl and Whisker were confused to see someone new come in, but Alex quickly told them her identity and got them to stay out of her way if possible.

The Archery God sat in the porch and looked all around. Her eyes landed on Alex, and she asked, "Are you the alchemist taking part in the tournament?"

"Yes, I am, Your Greatness," Alex said quickly.

"I see. Good luck," the woman said, not looking at him any further. She turned toward Silvermist next, asking another simple question. She moved on to Momo next and then even to Pearl and Whisker.

Her questions were simple. She seemed to want to know as little about them as possible while keeping up the conversation. It was a weird thing to be part of, as none of what they talked about was particularly interesting.

Her eyes raised only once when she talked to Pearl. She seemed to get curious at that point, digging further in.

"Have you always wanted to learn to use the spear, or did he influence you?" she asked, pointing to Grimsight.

"Not always, but a good few years before we met," Pearl said. "He taught me, but I wouldn’t say he influenced me in anything."

The Archery God seemed to be getting actually curious now. "And he actually taught you the spear? It is not every day that it happens," she said with a slight laugh. "If he took in disciples, you would have to call me senior sister right now."

Pearl didn’t know how to respond to that. He wasn’t the only one who felt that way either.

Alex couldn’t help but feel a greater sense of mystery from the old man, considering he seemed to have trained a god into existence. Just who was Spearheaven?

The Archery God was about to say something when her face changed into a serious look. "Finally, they’re gone," she said.

Grimsight slowly nodded. "Who was that? I couldn’t even recognize."

"There are only two with senses stronger than ours, so I would say one of those two," the Archery God said. "It’s either the Winter God or the Storm God."

"Those two are here as well?" Grimsight asked.

The Archery God nodded in return.

Alex hadn’t heard the name Storm God before, but he had heard of Winter God. He had even seen her, back in Eclipsing Heaven. He had been stunned by her beauty then, feeling an emotional attraction toward her that he never felt for anyone.

Remembering that time, he frowned right then.

He hadn’t had the reason to think about it yet, but now that he did, things were weird. The reason he believed he was attracted to the Winter God was because of her status as a god.

However, the Archery God was right before him, and he felt no such feeling at all. The Archery God might not dress herself in a feminine way, but that by no means meant she was unattractive. She was prettier than most women he had seen.

And yet, he felt nothing toward her.

So… what was that all about? Why did he feel such a thing toward the Winter God?

"All right, I’ve wasted enough time," the Archery God said then. "They aren’t focusing on us now, so we need to talk as quickly as we can. Brother Spearheaven, we need a private place to talk."

"Talk? Regarding what?" Grimsight asked.

"I can’t say," the Archery God said, looking around at the others that were present. She didn’t give them a second glance and looked right back at Grimsight, waiting for him to hurry.

Grimsight took only a moment to think before sighing. "In here," he pointed to one of the rooms. "We can talk privately without anyone eavesdropping."

"Great!" the Archery God said. "Let’s go in."
