A dark sword slash cut through the sky, making its way to the Sword God.
The Sword God was not just angered because of Godslayer’s presence alone but also because of what he was trying to do.
He swung his own purple sword, releasing a strong attack that tore through Godslayer’s own attack. He had rather easily done it.
Godslayer was slightly taken aback. He had absolutely known that he would be the weaker one here, but wasn’t the difference a little too big? The man had to at least struggle a little, right?
“You dare bring a sword to fight the Sword God?” Purplerain shouted as he pointed his sword directly at Godslayer.
A storm of purple sword Qi appeared all around Godslayer, striking at his flesh. The Sword Domain had formed away from the Sword God, an application that was only possible for someone who had found their Sword Heart.
It was understandable that the Sword God would have it. However, even as those Sword Qi damaged his flesh, they came back right away.
Alex had eaten many pills at once but had chosen to not use the effects of all of them. Some, he had simply turned into Qi so he could fuel the Undying physique.
That was, Alex would constantly regenerate his body from any wounds he ended up taking. So long as that remained, he would not die.
“Is this all you can do, Sword God?” Godslayer mocked. “Is this all a god is worth these days?”
The Sword God was offended enough that he tried even harder. The world around him fell into a lull for a moment as something settled on it.
His axiom.
The Sword God wasn’t in the Celestial realm yet, so he had to use his Intent to force it to settle around him instead of having it simply be present around him.
Godslayer felt the Axiom settle too, and when he sensed it, he couldn’t help but laugh out loud. He simply gripped Midnight harder and let out another attack.
The Sword God was a little taken aback by the attack, but he managed to grab a hold of himself and fought back. He destroyed that attack easily as well.
Godslayer once again noticed this but chose to ignore it.
“Let me guess, your Sword Truth is quite generic, isn’t it?” Godslayer asked. “Is it something like ‘Swords should only be used to kill’? It should be obvious, Purplerain. I always swing to kill.”
He let out another attack.
The attack was stronger.
The Sword God felt a sense of embarrassment at that moment. He had always been self-conscious about what his Sword Truth was, the one he used to become One with the Sword.
Having it be mocked like this made him angrier.
He screamed as he destroyed the attack.
“Tell me, Slayer. Who was the other man that was there? Who is the man I can’t remember?” Godslayer asked. “You must remember him! Tell me, so I can kill him too.”
The Sword God stopped holding back any further. Whatever happened now, he would thoroughly kill this being in front of him.
He let go of his Sword Domain. He let go of his Axiom.
“You think you can kill me? You?” he asked. He stepped closer. “I will show you why I am who I am.”
The Sword God arrived before Godslayer in an instant.
Alex instantly slowed down time for Godslayer as quickly as he could. With time slowed, the Sword God’s movements were easier to discern for Godslayer, and even then, the Sword God looked like he was moving at a normal speed.
Godslayer parried the attack and went for the Sword God’s throat, but the Sword God seemed to have expected that attack. He had let his sword get parried in that moment so he could set up the next attack.
Alex had seen it happening and would have blocked the attack had he been in control, but Godslayer wasn’t a swordsman. He only wanted to kill, so he didn’t realize what was happening.
The purple sword went through Alex’s head, followed by a strong force that ripped through his head, exploding it in its entirety.
It wasn’t just the head that was destroyed but the entire body. His body turned into mist with that one attack—that was how strong the Sword God was.
And yet, he still couldn’t kill Alex.
Alex’s body formed back from the mist, coalescing into the same position he was a moment ago. As he came back, Godslayer swung his sword at the Sword God’s neck.
The Sword God reacted immediately, swinging to the side. He blocked the sword with the flat side of his blade and pushed it back with a hint of difficulty to his movement.
He hadn’t imagined the young man before him could come back to life that quickly after having been exploded to smithereens. But then, there was a reason why they referred to the Undying Gods as cockroaches.
No matter how many times they were killed, they kept coming back.
At the stage Alex had reached with his Undying God’s physique, he could return as long as there was still a speck of blood left in this world. In fact, he didn’t even need that blood.
If only his soul survived, his body would still come back to life.
To kill him, one needed to destroy both the body and the soul with so much power that they were both obliterated at the same time. It was either that or kill him long enough that he ran out of Qi entirely.
The Sword God wasn’t certain he could kill Alex all at once while Godslayer was in his body. So, he had to go for the other option.
He had to wound Alex and Godslayer so long that they lost their Qi entirely.
He could do that.
The domain formed around Godslayer once again, with a thousand different swords flying around him this time instead of Sword Qi.
This was not the Sword Domain. It was the domain that one could manifest after reaching a certain realm as a Divinity.
The Divine Domain realm.
