Since Elixir was what Alex wanted now, his days were filled with countless fights with many beasts, all of which had Sunhearts.
He had no lack of training opportunities for his Intent or his Sword. He also slowly improved on his blood aura and body cultivation using the blood and body of the beasts he killed.
Alex tried to use the Sunhearts less and less and tried to rely more on naturally occurring Sun Wraiths.
Killing a Sun Wraith was as easy as getting next to them and using a single Heaven’s Intent on them. The Spirit holding together the energy of the Sun Wraith immediately died, allowing Alex to cultivate with all of the energy.
Each time he killed the Sun Wraith, he made a note of making changes to the Blood Beasts so that such a thing wouldn’t happen to them. He couldn’t afford to have the Blood Beasts die to a single mental attack from a high-ranking cultivator.
That was the only thing his improvement was really lacking in these days.
Since Alex flew around constantly this time around, choosing to search for locations where the beasts would be as quickly as possible. As a result, his encounters against these beasts had increased by a lot as well.
On average, Alex had been collecting close to 80 Sunhearts a week these days. It was technically much more than that, but because when he began cultivating, he would sometimes spend over 3 days just doing that, wasting much of the days of the week.
What took him more than a decade to gather before, Alex now did it in just a year.
Since the Elixirs only came out every few years, Alex had to wait.
Alex collected thousands of Sunhearts, most of which he had to keep in separate storage bags. If he kept them all in one storage bag, the bag would draw in so much heat from the surrounding that it would immediately combust.
So now, Alex usually carried upwards of 20 different storage bags on him.
The next time there was an opportunity to purchase Elixir, he got the highest bid and immediately bought it.
Upon buying it, he left the city and went to another one, in hopes of reaching there in time for their sales as well.
Each of the sales were done on different days throughout the various cities, so Alex managed to buy 3 entire jars of Elixir before he was out of Sunhearts.
Once he got all of them, he returned to his small hut on the edge of the city and drank it all.
The itches returned, stronger than ever, like a thousand tiny worms wriggling throughout his body, each one asking to be ripped out from the inside.
It was unbearable.
When the itches finally stopped, Alex sat back up and searched for changes to his body. It was clearly noticeable.
Drinking three jars of Elixir placed Alex’s new physical strength at around Immortal Transcendent 3rd realm, perhaps a tad higher than that.
Alex was slightly disappointed that each jar hadn’t even improved his strength by an entire realm, but the difficulty in improvement did increase each time he grew, so it was understandable.
“I improved 2 whole realms in just 3 years,” he thought. At the realm he was in, this was a fantastic amount of improvement.
“I should be fine for a while longer before the improvements become too low,” Alex thought. “Maybe a decade or two more?”
Now that he had so much Elixir in his body, he needed to stay put and cultivate.
Alex ate an infected Beast Core at the same time, cultivating his Qi as well. As he cultivated, things went smoothly. From the looks of it, he would have to cultivate for at least a month, if not more, before all of his Elixir was consumed by his body.
About halfway through the cultivation, however, something happened.
Alex felt a familiar sensation from his right shoulder plate.
He immediately reached for it on instinct, a look of fear appearing on his face at that moment.
The right shoulder plate of his had a small scar on it, one in the shape of a mouse’s paw. That was the tattoo belonging to the Beast Space for Whisker.
The sudden sensation he had just felt meant that Whisker had just died and come back to his Beast Space, where he would come back to life again.
Alex feared deeply what this meant.
Why had Whisker died? Was everything alright? Did something happen to him?
If he had died, then what had happened to Pearl and everyone else?
Worries played in Alex’s mind so much that he nearly disrupted his own cultivation sessions, sending his body through Qi deviation.
‘Focus!’ Alex thought. ‘You can’t do anything without any information. No matter how much you worry, the result will be the same. So focus on what’s important right now.’
He placed his attention back on the cultivation and continued with it for the remainder of the duration. It took some time for Whisker to heal upon returning.
It usually took about 2 weeks anyway, so Alex finished absorbing as much of the Elixir as he could. When Whisker was close to being back, Alex finally stopped.
There was still some Elixir remaining in his body, but he could consume those later. Only Whisker mattered right now.
Alex waited a few more days before Whisker was fully healed. Many thoughts went through his head in those few days, but he managed to keep calm during the period.
Then, when Whisker was healed, he flashed out of the Beast Space and onto Alex’s hand.
The tiny Whisker was confused for a moment, looking around at the small hut that didn’t match any of the places he had been in. The lack of Qi in the surroundings was also severely unnerving to him.
“Whisker, what’s happened? Why have you come out?” Alex asked, his words seemingly bringing Whisker back to attention.
Whisker turned around, his eyes wide open, and finally spoke.
“Brother, it’s terrible. You have to do something soon or they will all die.”
