Alex empowered the one strike with all he had, and more so than most with True Fire Dao.
His sword burned with a heat never before seen in hell. It was a heat he himself had never encountered before. With all the might of his Intent poured into his Dao, condensed to a line no thicker than a strand of hair, Alex slashed at the sect leader.
True Immolation Strike.
His sword cut the sect leader through the shoulders, cutting diagonally. Fire spawned from the line where the sect leader was cut as he screamed from the pain. He patted himself to put out the flames, even as he was burned.
As he did, he watched in horror as his body slowly slid down diagonally and fell to the ground.
Even as he died, his eyes were wide in both shock and confusion as he could not tell what had just happened.
The world around Alex went silent as not even the wind made a noise. Each eye in the surroundings was focused on him as he turned around and looked at the others that were attacking him.
They froze where they were, incapable of conjuring any thoughts at the moment. All those who were still using their array on him had stopped at this point.
Alex lifted his sword and lay it on his shoulder as he looked at the remaining elders and asked, “Do you still want to fight?”
The answer came in the form of a panic as those that were actively fighting Alex ran away immediately. There were others in the surroundings who had fallen to the ground, their legs constricted by their own fear.
They watched Alex with wide eyes, unable to do anything.
Alex glared at them for just a few seconds, remembering that these were the ones that had decided to keep attacking him when he had questioned them before. He would not feel much if he were to kill them here.
But, they were weak. They were only following orders for the most part.
Alex saw no need for the loss of any more lives than those he had already taken. With nothing else to do, he stepped through the river of blood and walked away.
The Hell Warrior sect was left with the aftermath of the battle with a majority of their upper echelon dead, including their sect leader and grand elder. Their future was bleak at this point, the survival of their sect now hanging on a thread.
Alex cared for none of that as he made his way back away from the sect.
Whisker met up with Alex once he was far enough away. He had seen the whole thing and was surprised at how badly Alex had hurt them. He had killed so many even.
“What… what happened, brother?” he asked. “Why did you kill so many?”
“They wanted to capture me and keep me hostage,” Alex said. “I’m done being a hostage. I’m done being imprisoned.”
Alex looked back once toward the sect, the pool of blood glistening from even this far. He wondered if he went overboard with his action there, but he found himself feeling justified for what he had done.
“Let us leave.”
Alex decided to take an early break from the training and spent the next two weeks cultivating. He steadily progressed his cultivation base, moving closer and closer to the next realm.
It would take some time yet, but the actual speed of his cultivation base still surprised him. The final path of the Five Yang Divine Path technique improved his cultivation speed by a lot.
Alex’s Intent had also grown enough around this time that he could make larger holes in his Soul Space. From being able to add tiny pebbles, he could now feed in decently large Sunhearts.
The bigger Sunhearts were as large as a pigeon’s egg, which he began sending to the Demon Realm. He was worried about the effect of the Sunheart in the realm at first, mostly worried about how the Nine Yang Divine Tree would react.
Thankfully, it seemed to dislike the Sunhearts as they were. He didn’t dare feed them the ones that were decaying.
The Sunhearts helped lower the heat and temperature around the 3rd mountain, helping remove the discomfort the trees had caused the residents of his inner world recently.
The older Alex and Emily had also come out of the Timeless Palace these days and were cultivating. They were lacking in talent when it came to cultivation, but they still did it steadily and slowly.
Besides, the purpose of their cultivation was not to improve their cultivation but to absorb the Elixir Alex had been sending in. So long as they could absorb it all, they were fine.
Alex and Emily had no intention of being strong enough to fight anyone. They just wanted to live long enough to see the rest of their family again. They had decidedly said their goodbyes back then when Hannah had ascended and taken everyone away, but now they wished to see them again.
Pearl was steadily speeding through his cultivation base as well, since he could cultivate 30 times faster than Alex could thanks to his access to the chambers.
Alex was a little saddened about those chambers though, since most of them were going to waste. There was so much slowed time being wasted there and worst of all, he could never use them himself.
Not unless he somehow copied those scripts out into something else. But not even his mother knew as much about scripts to do that. That just made him wonder more just how talented the 8th Undying God had to have been to do so many things.
Had he not been killed as a mere Saint, how far would he have risen?
After cultivating for enough days, Alex left the desert and headed to the next city. He was ready to start his training again.
What he had not expected was, however, that during his small break, the news of his actions at the Hell Warrior Sect had spread like wildfire.
