Chapter 2128 – A Slap

A slash flew through the air.

Di E blocked it, but he’d underestimated its terrifying power. An explosion of sword qi rang out, and he was forced backward.

A shallow gash appeared on his fair palm, which gushed pearls of blood.

Di E frowned, then exclaimed, “How could someone like you exist in the Path of the Ancient Gods?”

“You’re the frog in the well. There’s a lot in this world you don’t know about,” said Su Yi’s third incarnation.

Su Yi was still undergoing tribulation, but he found it a bit difficult to stay calm. To the best of his knowledge, Di E was a mysterious and terrifying existence, a powerhouse who’d touched the threshold of the River of Destiny!

But now, his third incarnation had attacked from across the barriers of the Path of the Ancient Gods and a seemingly endless distance of time and space, forcing Di E back in a single strike!

This combat strength was far too terrifying.

“Hah! Then this lofty one will just have to show you his true power!” Di E chortled, then raised his right hand.

Whoosh!

The Laws of Darkness condensed into a talisman marking, which Di E flung through the air.

Boom!

Time and space collapsed. The talisman marking effortlessly cleaved through the Path of the Ancient God’s spacetime barrier, then transformed into an unearthly black lotus. Its petals danced about, and the center of the flower transformed into a black hole!

Darkness suddenly enveloped the skies of the Ancient God Domain. A black hole-like vortex appeared, shattering the sky and descending upon the Nine Great Celestial Trials.

It was just too terrifying! Every inhabitant of the Ancient God Domain felt their hair stand on end. It felt as if the entire world had been badly damaged!

And all of this was the fallout of just one of Di E’s attacks!

“Don’t boast about such a paltry cultivation base. You’ll only make a fool of yourself!” Su Yi’s third incarnation didn’t even look at this attack. He just waved his sleeve.

Boom!!

A streak of sword qi took to the skies, like a mystical arc of light. It struck with unstoppable force, shattering the black hole as if cleaving through rotten wood.

Then, it continued ahead, its power undiminished. It pierced the barriers of the Path of the Ancient Gods and shot across endless time and space.

Clang!

That sword qi was just too sharp, and its hums swept out in waves, sending ripple after ripple through time and space.

When this slash descended upon him, Di E’s expression shifted, and he retreated explosively.

But to his astonishment, the sword qi seemed almost aware; its speed shot up, and it shot directly toward him.

“Break!” Di E bellowed and attacked with all his might.

Even so, the sword qi dealt him heavy wounds, and he flew backward, a chunk of flesh missing from his shoulder. His expression darkened, his gaze utterly cold.

Su Yi’s third incarnation put his hands behind his back with domineering pride, as if he looked down on everything beneath the heavens. “If not for the interference of the barrier of the Path of the Ancient Gods, someone like you wouldn’t even be worth drawing my sword for.”

“But you alone cannot stop us all,” said the man in golden warrior’s robes at the corner of the River of Destiny.

His voice had only just rang out when he suddenly threw a punch.

Boom!

Across endless time and space, everything shook.

It was just one punch, but it instantly crossed endless time and space and descended upon Su Yi’s third incarnation.

Su Yi’s third incarnation’s sleeves billowed and his eyes narrowed as he swung his sword and defended himself.

Boom!!

Heaven and earth swayed, and the entire Ancient God Domain shook violently. Countless ancient buildings toppled and collapsed.

Throughout the Path of the Ancient Gods, countless lifeforms were overcome with panic.

This was no mere clash of the Grand Dao. This was a world-destroying battle. The mere aftershock dealt a heavy blow to the entire Ancient God Domain!

Even Su Yi was unwittingly solemn. He hadn’t anticipated that his Divine Tribulation would lead to such terrifying developments.

More than ten experts suspected to have reached the River of Destiny had gone so far as to attack him personally!

“Do you really think you can stop us by yourself if we all attack together?” the tall, powerful man in golden warrior’s robes said from across endless time and space.

“Don’t bring disaster upon yourself. If you do, you’ll drag every living creature in the Path of the Ancient Gods to the grave with you!” the fair-skinned Daoist in the lotus crown said icily.

“Care to test that?” Su Yi’s third incarnation said calmly. “This will work out perfectly. I can borrow your hands to shatter the barrier between the Path of the Ancient Gods and the outside world!”

“Is that so? Go ahead and try it, then!” The ten-plus grand figures standing before the River of Destiny brimmed with murderous intent.

Time and space quivered.

The entire skies over the Ancient God Domain were completely covered in terrifying, calamitous power. It was like the descent of the apocalypse!

Su Yi’s heart sank. He’d already reached the last step of his journey. The transformation of his body and soul had reached a critical juncture.

If something ruined it now, all of his hard work would go to waste!

Boom!

His third incarnation suddenly stepped into the air and arrived beneath the dome of heaven, right at the boundary of the Path of the Ancient Gods.

Then, he gazed across endless time and space and said, “Come on and fight me!”

A forceful, imposing aura erupted from his thin frame.

“We cannot afford to delay. Suppress him first!”

“Got it!”

Di E and the other grand figures all attacked at once.

Boom!!

Time and space were thrown into disarray. All manner of endlessly terrifying powers slammed into the Path of the Ancient Gods.

No one could see anything clearly anymore. Their ears stung, and their hearts and minds were overcome with endless terror.

Everyone in the Ancient God Domain, including Master Gods like the Seven Great Celestial Venerates, was unwittingly stunned. They felt as if they were witnessing the descent of a world-annihilating cataclysm!

Crunch! Crack!

Throughout the Path of the Ancient Gods, the Laws of the natural order and the barrier between worlds were under attack. Rifts appeared all over the place.

It was immediately obvious how terrifying those mysterious experts’ attacks were, but Su Yi’s third incarnation didn’t retreat.

He single-handedly stood beneath the dome of heaven, fighting a group of powerful enemies alone, like a valiant, solitary warrior defending a pass against far superior numbers.

But…

That was the best he could manage. Although he blocked the vast majority of the attacks, it was hard for him to fight back.

Worst of all, when the aftershock of the battle spread, it continuously damaged the Ancient God Domain!

“This really is a bit troublesome.” Su Yi’s third incarnation frowned.

He couldn’t leave the Path of the Ancient Gods, so it was like he was fighting from inside a cage. He couldn’t display the full extent of his power. All he could do was defend himself!

But everything had its advantages and disadvantages. He was trapped, yes, but the barrier between worlds also served as protection. It prevented his enemies from charging straight in.

I just have to hold out until that kid becomes a god. Once the tribulation dissipates, those shameless bastards will have a hard time finding the Path of the Ancient Gods again, and the problem will resolve itself, thought Su Yi’s third incarnation.

This catastrophe had been triggered by Su Yi’s Divine Tribulation. It was far too strange and taboo, so much so that it let the experts who’d stepped onto the River of Epochs find the Path of the Ancient Gods from across an endless expanse of time and space.

When the Divine Tribulation dissipated, it wouldn’t be so easy to find this place again!

Su Yi’s third incarnation set those thoughts aside and attacked with all his might. It was just as he’d said earlier. If Su Yi died, he had to die by his hand! No one else could intervene!!

Meanwhile, in the Abyssal Ruin.

The Dark Skeletal God Emperor, the Glazed Illusion Hell Queen, the Dragon-Headed Daoist, and the other terrifying existences sensed the terrifying battle underway.

“His Eminence has encountered powerful foes!”

“I suspect that those people are Eternals!”

“I hope that their battle does enough damage to break the barrier between worlds. If it does, we’ll be able to escape!!”

“Wait, where are you going, Ol’ Dragon?”

As they conversed, they suddenly realized that the Dragon-Headed Daoist was shooting out of the Abyssal Ruin!

“His Eminence is in danger. How could I possibly just stay here and do nothing?” said the Dragon-Headed Daoist. He took enormous strides through the air, and before long, he’d vanished completely.

The other terrifying existences looked on with uncertainty.

“I wouldn’t have guessed it, but Ol’ Dragon hid himself quite deeply. He’s actually managed to slough off the restrictions of the Abyssal Ruin!”

“Before His Eminence left, he warned us not to act without permission, and he said that anyone who tried would be punished sincerely. Ol’ Dragon is breaking the rules!”

The crowd conversed, but none of them dared imitate the Dragon-Headed Daoist.

For one thing, many of them still weren’t capable of it.

For another, they dared not go against their orders and leave this place without permission.

The Nine Great Celestial Trials.

Atop the sixth divine tower.

Almost there! Just one more step! As his third incarnation faced off against those powerful foes, Su Yi was nearing the end of his tribulation.

His body and soul had been rebuilt amidst that seemingly endless tribulation light, and every last inch of his skin scattered a rain of chaos light. It was a mysterious, heart-palpitating scene.

Inside his body, there was a boundless Sea of Chaos. The Epoch Spark hovered over it, illuminating the sea of chaos fog.

When he breathed, his vital energy rumbled like thunder, making his essence, qi, and spirit resonate with his Sea of Chaos.

His foundations in the Grand Dao were enormous beyond imagination!

And within his soul, his Divine Dao Avatar towered like a mountain interwoven with a rain of the light of the Grand Dao. It was holy and grand.

All Su Yi needed to do now was refine the last of the tribulation light. That would be enough to fully stabilize his cultivation base. From that moment forth, he’d be a true god!!

But then, Su Yi suddenly sensed an impending lethal threat, and all of his hair stood on end. He whipped his head around and saw a figure shooting toward him from not far away.

He had a dragon’s head, a man’s body, and a Dao Sword on his back. This was the Dragon-Headed Daoist!

By the time Su Yi turned his head to look, the Dragon-Headed Daoist was almost upon him. His gaze was utterly cold and cruel.

“Teng Shan! How dare you!?

Practically simultaneously, Su Yi’s third incarnation sensed this heart-palpitating, soul-stirring assassination attempt. He whipped his head around, his eyes erupting with murderous intent and obvious fury.

But he was still locked in combat with powerful foes. He wouldn’t be able to stop it in time.

Clang!!

Practically simultaneously, the Sword of the Nine Hells rumbled and boomed, then silently fell into Su Yi’s hand. Its blade emanated mysterious, inscrutable energy fluctuations.

But then, something entirely unexpected happened.

The Dragon-Headed Daoist was still mid-charge when someone appeared out of nowhere and sent him flying backward with a slap.
