Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict
Chapter 1065: 1064 The Only LoveChapter 1065: 1064 The Only Love
“You and Wen Ran seem really close,” Eudora remarked, a hint of emotion surfacing in her expression, softened perhaps by the late hour. Her voice lost a bit of its usual iciness and gained a tinge of melancholy.
At least that’s how Bai Xiaoxiao felt.
She turned to look at Eudora and blinked, saying, “Eudora, when I go back to our country, why don’t you come with me?”
Eudora’s face flickered slightly, and the sadness in her tone deepened. “When my mother took me abroad, I never thought about returning. I thought she could find that man.”
Bai Xiaoxiao was moved by her sadness, feeling a faint stir of emotion, “Eudora, now that your mother has passed away, and you’re alone in D Country, why not come back with me? Ranran and I look alike, which means you two are destined to meet. Over time, I’m sure you can become good friends.”
“Really? She’s so happy; she probably doesn’t need friends.”
Eudora’s eyes flashed with a hint of scorn and coldness, but Bai Xiaoxiao was looking ahead and did not see the fleeting emotion in Eudora’s eyes.
“How could that be? Ranran used to be a wild girl; she’s actually very easy to get along with. But now, Mo Xiuchen watches her all the time. Even I, her close sister, find it hard to spend time alone with her.” Bai Xiaoxiao’s tone carried a hint of complaint by the end.
Mo Xiuchen, that guy, is just too overbearing.
Upon hearing Mo Xiuchen’s name, Eudora’s eyes flickered, her hand by her side clenched into a fist subconsciously, yet her face wore a faint smile. “That Mo Xiuchen, what kind of man is he? Last time Wen Ran was here, I heard you mention him all day long.”
“He might be the best husband in the world, haha, I should add, Wen Ran’s husband. Oh, I have their wedding video at home; I’ll show you in a bit.”
“Sure.”
Eudora’s expression subtly changed when she heard the word “wedding,” but the slight shift was concealed by the darkness. Bai Xiaoxiao, walking beside her, saw nothing.
They talked all the way back to Bai Xiaoxiao’s apartment.
Eudora sat down on the sofa while Bai Xiaoxiao fetched a USB drive from her room, opened her laptop, and set it on the coffee table.
“Eudora, would you like something to drink?” she asked with a smile.
“No thanks; I drank too much just now. Xiaoxiao, you go take a shower first.” Eudora’s eyes fixed on the LCD screen where Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran had yet to appear, and the hall was filled with guests.
“Okay, take your time. I’m going to shower.” Bai Xiaoxiao turned and went into the bedroom to get her pajamas, then into the bathroom for a shower.
After she entered the bathroom, Eudora on the sofa dropped her icy facade, and a torrent of emotions flooded her eyes.
Especially when Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran appeared on the screen together, her gaze fixed intently on the man, noble and handsome like a fallen celestial being.
There was a time when she had been so close to him.
Night after night, she had imagined countless times that one day, she would wear a wedding dress for him, walk down the aisle, and he would be waiting at the other end.
Their wedding would have been the most special century wedding…
But she never expected that all that was just her fantasy. She could never believe that a man who had lost his memory could still remember the woman he had loved before the amnesia.
Instead, he was as cold as ice toward her, his fiancée.
In the LCD screen, Wen Ran in a pure white wedding dress was breathtakingly beautiful. Still, that wasn’t why she was envious; the real reason for her envy was that, in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes, aside from Wen Ran, all the other guests were invisible.
The depths of affection in his eyes were enough to smash her heart into pieces…
During the wedding march, Wen Ran, accompanied by her father Gu Yan, walked toward the person at the other end of the red carpet. As she took steps closer to Mo Xiuchen, Eudora could no longer hide the hatred in her eyes, feeling a strong urge to smash her laptop.
If smashing the laptop could tear those two apart, she would do it without hesitation.
Yet, that wasn’t what pained her the most.
Suddenly, Mo Xiuchen’s voice rang out, low and magnetic, filled with profound love for Wen Ran. The next moment, her gaze was drawn to the big screen behind them, her eyes widening in disbelief.
She suddenly remembered the two months Mo Xiuchen had lost his memory in D Country.
Two or three times, she had seen him draw these character illustrations, and when she had asked him what they were for, he hadn’t told her.
Back then, he wasn’t drawing Wen Ran; he was drawing himself.
Once, she had wanted to take one as a keepsake but Mo Xiuchen had stopped her. He had coldly warned her not to touch his things. Later on, he even forbade her from entering his study.
Seeing the illustrations on the screen now, she finally understood; back then, Mo Xiuchen couldn’t remember Wen Ran, so he hadn’t drawn her.
During those days, Mo Xiuchen always seemed forlorn, eliciting sympathy. She was clearly by his side, yet he wasn’t happy. A faint loneliness always lingered between his brows.
Eudora watched the illustrations on the screen, each chronicling Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran’s encounters, acquaintance, and love. Her heart felt as if it was being cut repeatedly; her shattered heart pieced together by intense hatred.
All that was left in her heart was hatred for Wen Ran.
She had stolen the man she loved.
Mo Xiuchen had loved her once, but that was not enough for her. Even with his memory lost, Wen Ran, across the Pacific Ocean, still sought to seduce Mo Xiuchen. Seeing this special declaration from Mo Xiuchen made her realize.
Indeed, during those days Mo Xiuchen spent in D Country, his heart had flown across the Pacific Ocean. Even with his memory lost, his thoughts were always on Wen Ran.
She couldn’t have imagined Mo Xiuchen falling in love with Wen Ran all over again like that.
The sentence from the laptop, “Ranran, in this life and the next, you will forever be my only love,” turned Eudora’s face deathly pale. Tears welled up in her eyes as she fixated on the man she missed every single second.
Mo Xiuchen, if you love Wen Ran, I have now transformed myself to look like Wen Ran, ruined myself for your sake. One day, I will return to your side; this time, I want you to fall in love with me.
For this objective, she had traveled across the ocean, all to return to his side.
Heaven seemed to favor her; Bai Xiaoxiao’s emergence filled her with hope and a firm belief that this time, Providence would fulfill her wish.
Bai Xiaoxiao emerged from the bathroom to find Eudora on the living room sofa with tears on her face; she chuckled lightly and called out to her from a few meters away.
Eudora was jolted by her voice, came to her senses, and quickly raised her hand to wipe away her tears.
“Heavens, Mo Xiuchen even moved someone as indifferent as you. It seems his wedding gift to Ranran could really move any woman in the world.”
Bai Xiaoxiao walked up to the sofa, still holding a towel to dry her hair.
Eudora’s face flickered with embarrassment as she said faintly, “This is the first time I’ve seen such a touching wedding. Seeing Mo Xiuchen’s love for Wen Ran, and thinking about my mother, it truly feels sad.”
