Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

“Li En?”
Mo Xiuchen’s long, narrow eyes narrowed, his seemingly questioning tone was, in fact, full of certainty.
As they spoke, the two of them walked hand in hand into the living room, where Mo Xiuchen sat Wen Ran down on the sofa, took an apple from the fruit tray, peeled and cut it into pieces, and placed it on a plate.
He picked up a small piece and fed it to Wen Ran’s mouth.
Wen Ran bit off a mouthful, swallowed it, and then said, “It was Li En who told her. Sister Wei means that after my brother comes back, I should persuade him not to be too harsh on Bai Yiyi.”
“It seems that Fang Zhiwei isn’t without her schemes either,” Mo Xiuchen said with a slight curl of his lips after hearing Wen Ran’s words.
Wen Ran pursed her lips and spoke softly, “It’s normal for her to be worried.”
“That day, Sister Wei’s marriage proposal showed her insecurities and fears. She must have sensed the unusual relationship between my brother and Yiyi a long time ago. After seeing Li En and my brother come to blows twice, I would have thoughts too if I were in her place.”
Mo Xiuchen laughed lightly and corrected her, “Ranran, you got one thing wrong.”
“Which thing?”
Wen Ran asked, puzzled.
“The idea, if it were you, you definitely wouldn’t act like Fang Zhiwei. How did you deal with the women that appeared around me back then?”
Mo Xiuchen remembered clearly that every time Ranran saw other women interested in him, she was always indifferent as if it was none of her concern.
He had even asked her several times to have the awareness of a wife and drive away the women around him.
Being told this, Wen Ran couldn’t help but laugh, “I trusted you and knew that those women couldn’t tempt you.”
“That’s the crux of the issue.”
Mo Xiuchen suddenly steered the conversation back to the main point; Wen Ran blinked and said, “Mo Xiuchen, you’re right. Sister Wei doesn’t trust my brother enough. I’m actually worried that if they get married, I wonder if they can be happy in the future.”
Every woman gets jealous.
Wen Ran didn’t get jealous at first because she wasn’t in love with Mo Xiuchen at the time; she even thought that if he found another woman, she would leave him.
Later, when she fell in love with him and knew that he loved her too, she trusted him completely.
But the situation between Fang Zhiwei and her brother was different. At least, she was certain that Fang Zhiwei was more invested in the relationship than her brother, even assuming her brother also cared for Fang Zhiwei.
Mo Xiuchen thought for a moment and said, “The reason Gu Kai has been on a business trip for so long could partly be because he is considering his marriage to Fang Zhiwei.”
“Ah, you mean my brother doesn’t want to discuss the wedding date, so he’s deliberately not returning?”
Wen Ran’s eyes flashed with astonishment as she gazed intently at Mo Xiuchen.
“It’s just my guess.”
Mo Xiuchen smiled slightly, his large hand caressing her belly as if he could feel it. Immediately, the baby inside seemed to greet him with a flutter.
“Although Fang Zhiwei is worried and afraid that if Bai Yiyi doesn’t get married, it might affect her relationship with Gu Kai over time, this suggestion is not wrong.”
Wen Ran nodded, “I feel the same way. Let’s persuade him together when my brother comes back.”
“There’s no need for both of us. You alone will do. Your words carry more weight than anyone else’s,” Mo Xiuchen was very self-aware. Since Gu Kai and Ranran recognized each other, his ranking as a good brother had fallen back.
Just like he placed Ranran first in his priorities, Gu Kai also placed his sister Ranran first.
Perhaps, once he truly falls in love with a woman, he will change.
**
The next morning, Wen Ran got up earlier than usual.
Because Mo Xiuchen had a business trip, she had breakfast with him, saw him off, and watched his car disappear from sight. Then she touched her belly and said to the twins, “Daddy’s gone on a business trip, so you two need to be good.”
As if understanding her, the babies gently moved inside her belly, and a tender smile bloomed on Wen Ran’s lips, “While Daddy isn’t here, you two little treasures will keep Mommy company.”
Nanny Zhang approached and said softly, “Young Mistress, it’s hot outside, come inside.”
“Okay.”
Wen Ran smiled back at Nanny Zhang and responded softly.
“Young Mistress, let me assist you,” Nanny Zhang reached out to help Wen Ran, who laughed and refused, “Nanny Zhang, I’m not as delicate as Mo Xiuchen makes me out to be. I can go inside on my own; you go on with your work.”
“The Young Master instructed me this morning to take good care of you these days. If anything goes wrong, I won’t know how to explain it to him.”
Nanny Zhang insisted because the Young Mistress was the apple of the Young Master’s eye, and besides, she was pregnant with girl and boy twins, so she dared not take any chances.
Wen Ran had no choice but to let Nanny Zhang help her back to the living room, and after sitting down on the sofa, she asked casually, “Nanny Zhang, you mentioned the other day about Little Liu’s wedding arrangements. How’s that coming along?”
Nanny Zhang’s face showed a joyful smile, “Young Mistress, Little Liu has set a wedding date. After the Young Master returns from his trip, I plan to have him bring Little Juan home for a meal.”
Previously, Mo Xiuchen had said when there was time, to have Little Liu bring his current girlfriend over for a meal.
Little Liu and the girl named Little Juan had only been dating for a few months, but she was honest and decent, not like Cheng Jia and Tong Shishi from before. Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen had met her once, and at least at first glance, they thought well of her.
“Great, after Mo Xiuchen comes back, let’s have Little Liu bring her over for a meal. When’s the wedding date set?”
“It’s set for New Year’s Day. The specifics of the bride price and such are still being discussed.”
Nanny Zhang chatted with Wen Ran for a while until Wen Ran felt sleepy and went back to her room for a nap.
In the afternoon, after waking from her nap, Wen Ran received a call from Mother Bai.
“Ranran, did I wake you from your nap?” Mother Bai immediately asked apologetically after hearing her yawn.
Wen Ran said with a smile, “Aunt Qiao, you didn’t wake me.”
“Xiaoxiao called and asked me to prepare gifts for my godson and goddaughter. Ranran, do you want to come out, take a stroll and help me pick the gifts?”
“Aunt Qiao, you shouldn’t listen to Xiaoxiao, there’s no need for you to prepare any gifts…”
“This is Xiaoxiao’s order; I dare not refuse it. Ranran, why don’t you come with me? That girl Xiaoxiao says my taste isn’t as good as yours. She also said she isn’t in G City and asked me to spend more time with you…”
Hearing Mother Bai say this on the phone, Wen Ran agreed to accompany her shopping.
Qing Feng and Qing Yang dropped her off at the mall, where Mother Bai was specifically waiting for her at the entrance.
“Ranran, it hasn’t been long, but your belly has grown so much.”
As soon as Mother Bai saw Wen Ran coming, she went up to support her with delight, “If I had known, I wouldn’t have asked you to come out shopping. It’s all that girl Xiaoxiao’s fault.”
Wen Ran laughed lightly, “Aunt Qiao, do I look like I can’t walk?”
