Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict
Chapter 1111: 1110 I will go back in a whileChapter 1111: 1110 I will go back in a while
“Wen Ran is willing to give Mo Xiuchen two days?” Gu Kai emphasized after Bai Yiyi finished speaking.
Bai Yiyi nodded. “That’s what Ranran said. Tell Mo Xiuchen, if he doesn’t come to see Ranran within these two days, not only will he be upset, Ranran will be too.”
A smile appeared on Gu Kai’s handsome face. “Okay, I’ll tell Mo Xiuchen in a bit.”
“I’ll head back first.” Seeing the elevator arrive, Bai Yiyi stepped in, and Gu Kai, hesitating slightly, followed her in.
“I’m going to the first floor.”
When Bai Yiyi was about to press the button for his office floor, Gu Kai spoke up to stop her.
“Oh.”
Bai Yiyi withdrew her hand and ignored Gu Kai.
Walking out of the hospital together, Gu Kai said to Bai Yiyi, “You don’t need to drive your car; I’ll take you home.”
“No need.”
Wen Ran refused Gu Kai without even thinking, for she had thought his offer the day before was out of kindness, only to be met with suspicion against Li En. His eagerness tonight made her question what scheme he had in mind.
“I’m offering because you spent hours with Ranran today. No matter what, her agreeing to give Mo Xiuchen two days is partly due to you. Leave your car at the hospital, and I’ll bring you back when I come to work tomorrow morning.”
Gu Kai was a man both proud and domineering, and after he finished speaking, he didn’t wait for Bai Yiyi’s consent, but pulled her toward his parking spot.
“Gu Kai, let go. I can walk on my own.”
Bai Yiyi disliked physical contact with this man; for some reason, every time he touched her, her heartbeat would become erratic.
Gu Kai released her and strode over to the Maybach, opened the door, and raised his eyebrow at her.
Bai Yiyi pursed her lips and reluctantly sat in the passenger seat, then reached for the seatbelt and fastened it.
Gu Kai closed the door for her, walked around the car, and sat in the driver’s seat. He didn’t immediately fasten his seatbelt but instead pulled out his phone to call Mo Xiuchen.
Bai Yiyi frowned slightly and watched him silently.
“Hello, Ah Kai.”
The call connected, and Mo Xiuchen’s voice came through, deep and oppressing in the night, creating a somber atmosphere.
“Mo Xiuchen, where are you?”
Gu Kai leaned back into his seat, phone to his ear, dark eyes fixed on the rearview mirror.
“I’m at the police station. Has Ranran rested yet?”
When it came to Wen Ran, Mo Xiuchen’s voice naturally softened, clearly not troubled by Ranran’s reprimand that afternoon.
Yet, the emotions he had shown then were so sincere that it was painful to behold.
“Ranran hasn’t rested yet. She already knows what you did this afternoon was intentional.”
Gu Kai raised an eyebrow, his voice low and calm as he spoke.
On the other end of the line, Mo Xiuchen was silent for a moment. “What did Ranran say?”
“What else could Ranran say? You took away her phone, too; she can’t receive calls from the other person.” Gu Kai glanced at Bai Yiyi beside him and added, “Ranran says, you have two days to find Momo.”
“Two days.”
Mo Xiuchen mulled over the significant message in his words.
That afternoon Ranran had only told him that the other person wanted her to leave him.
She hadn’t mentioned a deadline, but now it seemed that person must have given Ranran three days, which was why she was giving him two.
If he couldn’t find Momo within those two days, she wouldn’t hesitate any longer, and even if it meant using extreme measures, she would leave him.
Thinking about this, Mo Xiuchen’s grip on his phone suddenly tightened.
On the other end of the phone, Gu Kai furrowed his brows and said gently, “Ranran is willing to give you two days. You don’t need to keep avoiding her.”
“I’m coming back right now.”
Mo Xiuchen answered very quickly this time. He loved Wen Ran so much, how could he bear to avoid her? If it weren’t for being completely helpless, he would hate to be apart from her for even a second.
“Alright, hurry back.”
After hanging up the phone, Gu Kai turned his head and looked at Bai Yiyi, “Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something?”
Considering she had accompanied Ranran for several hours, Gu Kai’s attitude towards Bai Yiyi was fairly gentle.
“I’m not hungry. Please take me home, Tongtong will cry if she doesn’t see me tonight.”
Bai Yiyi shook her head. Based on her previous experiences with Gu Kai, she felt that the less time she spent with him, the better. The longer the time, the more they talked, and it would only lead to quarrels at the slightest disagreement.
“Alright, then I’ll take you home directly.”
Gu Kai fastened his seatbelt and started the car to get on the road.

In the hospital room, Wen Ran lay on the bed with her eyes closed, but she wasn’t asleep.
Despite the soft sound of the door opening, she still heard it and immediately opened her eyes. Seeing Mo Xiuchen enter, her heart finally settled back into her chest.
Mo Xiuchen didn’t walk over immediately. His tall figure stood at the doorway, quietly watching the woman on the bed, as if waiting for her to speak.
Sighing inwardly, Wen Ran broke the silent gaze between them. Her voice was soft and calm in the quiet night, “Mo Xiuchen.”
It was just a soft call, no more words were needed.
It was as if he had received an order. Mo Xiuchen immediately walked to her bedside, bent over, and hugged her tightly.
Wrapped in the familiar masculine scent and held by a pair of warm arms, with her little face pressed against his broad chest, Wen Ran’s heart was instantly flooded with warmth.
Her body was somewhat stiff, but she did not struggle.
She allowed Mo Xiuchen to hold her in his arms. Amidst her chaotic thoughts, a sliver of clarity emerged. If they couldn’t rescue Momo in two days, she would truly have to leave this warm embrace.
Just the thought pierced her heart as if it were being cut by a sharp tool, bringing a wrenching pain so intense she almost cried.
“Ranran, Ranran.”
Mo Xiuchen felt her stiffness and ached inside. He bowed his head and kissed her hair softly, calling her name over and over again.
Thousands of words were infused in those soft calls.
He knew, his Ranran understood. She was so smart and knew him so well.
“Haven’t you had dinner?”
Suddenly, a discordant voice rang out in the room. In the next moment, Wen Ran pulled away from Mo Xiuchen and looked up at him displeased.
Mo Xiuchen’s eyes flickered, and he said softly, “I’ll call for takeout right now. Ranran, will you join me, please?”
“Alright.”
Wen Ran ultimately couldn’t refuse him and nodded softly.
A glint of light passed through Mo Xiuchen’s eyes, and he immediately took out his phone to make a call. He had left the hospital in the afternoon to meet Lu Zhiyan and had been busy till now—it wasn’t that he didn’t want to eat, but rather he had no time for a meal.
Over dinner, Mo Xiuchen told Wen Ran that the police were racing against the clock searching for clues and that they should know Momo’s whereabouts soon.
Listening to him, Wen Ran felt worried instead. She thought about the day Momo went missing, the call she had received.
Momo was in their hands. Even if she were found, she would be threatened.
