Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict
Chapter 1124: 1123 You are going to betray himChapter 1124: 1123 You are going to betray him
Miqin lowered her gaze and said indifferently, “If it weren’t for certain reasons, I’d prefer to go back to D Country to complete my studies.”
“What reasons? Speak up, maybe we can help you.” Bai Xiaoxiao came back to the ward after finishing a phone call and happened to hear Miqin’s words. She immediately spoke up righteously.
Miqin turned her head and glanced at Bai Xiaoxiao who had entered, and gently refused, “No need, that’s my own private affair.”
“Okay then, if that’s the case, let me know if there’s anything you need. By the way, where are you staying, at a hotel or renting a house?”
Bai Xiaoxiao walked over and sat down by the bed, asking with concern.
“I’m not in need of anything at the moment.”
Miqin answered Bai Xiaoxiao’s question, her gaze turning to the sleeping baby in the crib, “What’s this baby’s name again? The features are so delicate. When he grows up, he’s certainly going to be another heartthrob.”
“That’s for sure.”
Bai Xiaoxiao saw Miqin stand up and walk around the head of the bed, intending to hold her godson. She immediately jumped up and ran in front, getting to the crib before Miqin, “Eudora, you better not touch him. He just cried and finally fell asleep. If you wake him up, he’ll cry again.”
“Is that so? I think you just don’t want anyone else to hold your godson and are making excuses,” Miqin said skeptically, retracting her extended hand.
Wen Ran said dispassionately, “Xiaoxiao isn’t lying this time, it’s true. Ever since Momo disappeared, Ziyi has been especially prone to crying and is difficult to soothe.”
“In that case, I won’t hold him. I really wouldn’t know how to soothe a crying baby.”
“You can hold him when he wakes up later.”
Right after Wen Ran finished speaking, Ziyi indeed woke up, crying out before opening one eye, followed promptly by the other.
“Miqin, try checking to see if Ziyi has wet himself.”
“You’ll need to pick Ziyi up and place him on the big bed to check,” Bai Xiaoxiao moved aside to give Miqin a hint.
“Alright.” Miqin hesitated, then bent down to lift Ziyi from the crib onto the hospital bed to check if he cried because he had wet himself.
Bai Yiyi, Wen Ran, and Bai Xiaoxiao just quietly watched her without speaking.
Miqin, while checking Ziyi, glanced at his delicate face resembling Mo Xiuchen’s almost as if it was a facsimile. A fleeting emotion inadvertently flashed through the depths of her eyes, and her hands paused slightly.
Wen Ran blinked and lifted a hand to lightly move a strand of hair that had fallen onto her cheek behind her ear.
“Eudora, you can actually do this? You’re much more skilled than me,” Bai Xiaoxiao laughed and complimented. Bai Yiyi turned to look at Wen Ran, who chimed in, “Xiaoxiao, you should learn from Miqin. In the future, when you have children, you won’t even know how to change a wet diaper, what will you do then?”
Miqin looked at the three of them and smiled faintly, “I have helped look after babies before, so I know a little.”

The next day, the news of Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran’s divorce occupied the front pages of all the major newspapers and magazines.
Early in the morning, Wen Ran received many phone calls, asking her if the news in the newspapers was true; reporters even blockaded both Haochen Group and Kangning Hospital.
Mo Xiuchen gave an interview to the press, saying that the relationship between him and Wen Ran had come to an end; the two were truly divorced.
“Mr. Mo, your relationship with Mrs. Mo seemed so good, how could it end just like that? Is it because of your missing baby?”
A reporter asked persistently.
Some with a more vivid imagination asked, “Mr. Mo, is it because the bad guys who kidnapped Momo threatened you to divorce, that’s why you divorced Mrs. Mo?”
“Mo General, now that you and Mrs. Mo are divorced, who will get the custody of your baby?”
“…”
A barrage of questions bombarded him.
Standing tall and proud amongst the crowd, Mo Xiuchen faced the journalists’ questions without surprise, responding with indifference. His handsome features were frosted over with ice, the tender expression that used to emerge involuntarily at the mention of Wen Ran was now cold as ice: “You’re all thinking too much. My divorce from Wen Ran is due to a breakdown in our relationship and has nothing to do with anyone else.”
“What about your baby then?”
“She will take him.”

In the ward at Kangning Hospital
Wen Ran leaned against the bedhead, watching the tall and resolute figure on the LCD TV, listening to the indifferent words he spoke. She simply pursed her red lips, a cold expression in her eyes.
Underneath the covers, her hands slowly clenched. Suddenly, the sharp ring of a phone pierced the silence.
Startled, Wen Ran picked up the phone from the bedside table and whispered to the special nursing assistant beside her, “You can step out. I’ll call you when Ziyi wakes up.”
“Okay.” The nursing assistant gave a small smile, laid down the items in hand, and left the ward.
Wen Ran took a breath and answered the call, her voice chillingly clear: “Hello!”
“Wen Ran, just divorcing Mo Xiuchen isn’t enough. You must make him give up hope completely.”
Angrily, Wen Ran retorted, “Cheng Jia, my divorce from him is real, it’s truly over, you crazy woman. Give me back my daughter immediately.”
“Do you think I’d believe that? Unless you really betray him. Wasn’t it him who caused your daughter’s injury? Wen Ran, if you get involved with one of his brothers, then I’ll believe you. Remember, I want to see the news of your betrayal on the front page headlines tomorrow. Otherwise, what you’ll receive will be another part of your daughter’s body.”
“Cheng Jia, you’re going to end up in a bad way,” Wen Ran’s voice was sharp and furious, as if she intended to tear Cheng Jia into pieces.
Sadly, what answered her were the beeps of a dead line.
She hung up the phone and within less than ten minutes, Bai Yiyi arrived at the hospital, followed by Gu Kai who arrived at the ward twenty minutes later.
“Ranran, the results are out. The courier received yesterday wasn’t Momo’s.”
Gu Kai came to the ward to deliver the news to Wen Ran.
Leaning on the hospital bed, amusing Ziyi who was held by Bai Yiyi, Wen Ran felt somewhat relieved upon hearing Gu Kai’s words. She pursed her lips and said softly, “Brother, I want to be discharged.”
“Discharged, why?”
Gu Kai looked at her perplexed.
“I can’t stay in the hospital forever.”
“Ranran, just stay in the hospital. Stay for a few more days. After all, Ziyi is still young. Once we rescue Momo, she’ll also need a comprehensive check-up. You can be discharged after that.”
As Gu Kai spoke, his gaze turned towards Bai Yiyi.
Bai Yiyi felt his stare, looked up at him, and caught the message in his eyes. Hesitating for a moment, she still spoke up, “Ranran, I also think it’s better for you to stay in the hospital a few more days. Not because of Ziyi, but because your wound had opened up again a few days ago. Wait until the wound heals better before leaving.”
“Mhm, exactly.” Gu Kai gave Bai Yiyi a look that read ‘you’re not so dumb after all,’ and chimed in with agreement.
