Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict
Chapter 1177: 1176 to draw lotsChapter 1177: 1176 to draw lots
Seeing Bai Yiyi’s smug look, Wen Ran forgot that Gu Kai was her biological brother and couldn’t help but laugh impolitely.
She turned her gaze and spotted Tongtong playing joyfully not far away, the image of her brother carrying Tongtong through the doorway with Bai Yiyi following behind them flashing before her eyes.
If the two of them got together, Tongtong would truly have a complete family. That wouldn’t be so bad.
With this thought, Wen Ran’s smile took on a hint of mystery.
“Ranran, your smile looks like you’re plotting something,” Bai Yiyi teased as she noticed Wen Ran’s expression.
“It’s not a plot, it’s just a little realization.”
Wen Ran winked at Bai Yiyi, who became even more curious. An Lin came over while chasing after Tiantian and asked with a laugh, “What plot?”
“There’s no plot. An Lin, you should keep playing with these little ones so you can stay forever eighteen,” Wen Ran pushed An Lin gently, and she really continued to frolic with the children, entirely lacking the demeanor of a twenty-eight-year-old woman, and certainly nothing like the powerhouse businesswoman she was in the marketplace.
“Ranran, tell me, what did you realize?” Bai Yiyi kept asking Wen Ran.
Wen Ran said with a smile, “If I tell you, you can’t scold me or get angry, then I’ll tell you.”
“Mhm,” Bai Yiyi nodded vigorously. The more Wen Ran held back, the more Bai Yiyi wanted to know.
Wen Ran beckoned Bai Yiyi with a hooked finger, and she leaned in.
“I just think that if you and my brother were together, Tongtong would have a complete family, which would be much happier than if you both married separately.”
“Get lost.”
Bai Yiyi cursed lightly and gently pushed Wen Ran.
Wen Ran laughed heartily, “You said no scolding. Yiyi, I’m not joking; I’m serious. You should really consider it.”
“To be with your brother, I’d definitely shave off decades of my life, and I don’t want to die young,” Bai Yiyi stated firmly, even pulling a dramatic face.
She and Gu Kai would start arguing after just a few words; how could they possibly be together? Impossible, absolutely impossible, completely impossible.
As Wen Ran spoke to Bai Yiyi about how happy Tongtong would be if Bai Yiyi and Gu Kai were together, Gu Kai had finished breakfast and settled onto the couch in the living room.
Fang Zhiwei sat down on the couch opposite him.
“Ah Kai, how have you been doing abroad for the past half year?” From the moment she walked into the living room, Fang Zhiwei’s gaze had not left Gu Kai.
Gu Kai had handsome brows and an elegant demeanor; after not seeing him for half a year, Fang Zhiwei thought he looked even more handsome and mature, with sharp, striking features.
Every movement he made exuded an air of noble elegance.
She stared at him, unable to divert her gaze.
“I’ve been very well, spending all my time in the lab. What about you?”
Fang Zhiwei smiled and said, “I’ve been the same. Just whenever I have free time, I really miss you. A few times, I thought about going abroad to find you, but then I worried that showing up would annoy you.”
Gu Kai lifted his hand and gently pinched the temple of his forehead; truly, no matter the topic, it always came back to this.
He pursed his lips, speaking gently, “Zhi Wei, you’re a very good, very talented girl. At first, I really wanted to like you, wanted to marry you. But no matter how hard I tried, I still found that I just don’t feel that way about you.”
These were the same words Gu Kai had said when they broke up before the Chinese New Year.
A hurt look crossed Fang Zhiwei’s eyes, and the color in her gaze dimmed. The hands in front of her also clenched tightly together.
“Ah Kai, can we still be friends?”
After a long silence, she raised her eyes to look at Gu Kai.
If she had harbored hopes last night, this morning, or even just before entering the living room to find Gu Kai, those hopes had now turned to fear upon hearing Gu Kai’s words.
Not that she didn’t want to fight for it.
But she was afraid that if she persisted, Gu Kai would come to dislike her.
Gu Kai was slightly taken aback, seemingly not expecting Fang Zhiwei to ask this; he smiled gently, “Of course, we’re still friends.”
Fang Zhiwei also smiled, her smile graceful and generous, a stark contrast to the cautious and uneasy manner in which she had asked the question, “Then I am relieved.”
She stood up, cheerfully said, “Let’s go out, everyone is outside, they will be looking for you soon.”
Gu Kai also stood, and Fang Zhiwei made conversation, chatting with him as they walked out of the living room.
In the yard, everyone saw Gu Kai and Fang Zhiwei coming out laughing and talking; those who knew the situation couldn’t help but feel surprised. Bai Yiyi’s gaze swept over Gu Kai and Fang Zhiwei, then with a smile, she walked over to Tongtong and pulled her up from the lawn.

Before lunch, Mo Xiuchen brought out many items and arranged them on a table.
He let Xinxin, Momo, and Ziyi, the three little ones, draw lots. Zhou Lin’s daughter and Li Qian’s son each quickly took one item, but their mothers pulled them into their arms and put the items back on the table.
Seeing Tongtong heading to draw, Bai Yiyi called out to Gu Kai, who was standing beside her, “Gu Kai, don’t let Tongtong make trouble.”
Gu Kai smiled casually, “Let her draw. It won’t matter if we’re missing one.”
Bai Yiyi’s lips twitched, realizing she couldn’t rely on him, she quickly walked over just as Tongtong was about to grab a stethoscope from the table, and scooped Tongtong up.
“Stethoscope, mommy, Tongtong wants.”
Tongtong was crying and jumping, kicking her legs and reaching out her hands towards the table, trying to grab that stethoscope.
Bai Yiyi walked a few steps away with Tongtong in her arms, gently explaining, “Tongtong, you can have it later. Wait until your little brother and sister have chosen, it will all be yours.”
“No, stethoscope.”
Tongtong cried out, worried that Ziyi, who was standing next to the stethoscope, would take hers and then she wouldn’t be able to become a doctor.
“Tongtong, come to grandpa, this afternoon you can go to the hospital with grandpa. Grandpa has everything there.” Gu Yan, who had arrived near noon, seeing Tongtong hopping and making a fuss in Bai Yiyi’s arms, hurried forward, smiling and reaching out.
“Grandpa, Tongtong, hospital.”
When Tongtong heard that she could go to the hospital, she immediately reached out both arms towards Gu Yan, wanting him to carry her.
Bai Yiyi had no choice but to let Gu Yan take Tongtong away, thinking to herself once again, feeling gloomy, why Tongtong was so keen on being a doctor.
Wen Ran was holding Momo with one hand and Xinxin with the other, while Mo Xiuchen was standing by Ziyi’s side.
“Ranran, let Momo and Xinxin choose first.” Mo Xiuchen spoke gently to Wen Ran beside him; the variety of items on the large table dazzled the three little cherubs.
Wen Jin stepped forward, lifted Momo, and smiled, “Momo, let’s start picking gifts. You can take anything you like. Now that uncle is holding you, we can choose whatever we want, okay?”
“Xinxin, which one do you want?” Wen Ran bent down and asked Xinxin beside him, to avoid any fighting over items, they had prepared three of each.
That was also why Gu Kai had said, missing one wouldn’t matter.
