Chapter 1277: 1276 Keep His Heart

On the second floor, footsteps echoed from the stairwell, Qin Mu lowered his voice and said: "Mom, stop meddling in my affairs. If you’re bored, I can sign you up for a travel group; you should go out on vacation, and enjoy yourself."

Mother Qin laughed and said: "Rather than going out, I’d prefer to stay home with my eldest grandson. Ah Mu, whether you and An Lin have a boy or a girl, I won’t mind."

Seeing An Lin coming down from the stairs, Qin Mu gave his mother a look, signaling her to say no more; An Lin was thin-skinned, and she would feel embarrassed.

An Lin reached the bottom of the stairs and walked towards the sofa. Qin Mu then stood up, "Mom, An Lin and I are leaving now, if there’s anything, just give us a call."

An Lin also gently called out "Mom".

Mother Qin got up, walked out from the sofa, and affectionately held An Lin’s hand, saying with reluctance: "You just came back for a day and now you’re leaving, I really can’t bear to see you go."

"Mom, we’ll come back whenever we have time."

An Lin’s smile was tender, and those same words, coming from her, made Mother Qin happier than hearing them from her son.

She affectionately patted An Lin’s hand and walked them out of the living room, then instructed: "An Lin, if Ah Mu dares to bully you, you call me. I’ll teach him a lesson for you."

An Lin glanced at Qin Mu who was carrying luggage toward the garage and said with a smile: "Mom, Ah Mu is very kind, he won’t bully me."

Mother Qin slowed down and whispered mysteriously: "An Lin, there are some things not quite suitable for me as your mother-in-law to discuss with you, but I’ve always treated you as my own daughter. After much consideration, I still decided to remind you."

"Mom, please tell me."

An Lin blinked in confusion, looking gently at Mother Qin.

Mother Qin smiled, "Ah Mu has always been chaste and has never had a girlfriend, as you know."

An Lin nodded, still not quite understanding what Mother Qin wanted to express.

The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law stopped, and Mother Qin, holding An Lin’s hand, imparted her wisdom: "Men are creatures that think with the lower half of their bodies. For someone like Ah Mu, who is in the prime of his youth and had no previous sexual experiences, it’s somewhat better. But once he has tried it, it becomes much harder to control himself."

"Mom," An Lin blushed slightly in embarrassment.

Mother Qin signaled her to not interrupt and continued: "I’m not saying this because I want to hold a grandchild, but rather to tell you that as husband and wife, you should do what husband and wife do. If a man isn’t satisfied at home, it’s very dangerous outside."

"Ah Mu isn’t that kind of person, Mom."

Although An Lin was a woman approaching thirty, she had only experienced the matters between men and women that one night.

Now discussing this issue with her mother-in-law, she truly felt that it was harder than dealing with tough customers on the market.

"Of course I know, Ah Mu has been chaste for thirty years, now that he has you, he will naturally not look for other women outside. But it doesn’t mean that other women won’t try to seduce him. So, as women, to keep a man’s heart, we must fulfill their needs."

"Mom, An Lin, what are you talking about? Hurry up."

From afar, Qin Mu had already driven the car out of the garage.

Standing at the front door, he rolled down the window and poked his head out towards them shouting.

An Lin quickly withdrew her hand from her mother-in-law’s, dropping a line: "Mom, I’m leaving first, you should go inside."

Without waiting for Mother Qin to speak, she ran off as if she was escaping.

"You’re running so fast, it’s like Mom is going to grab you and not let you go."

As soon as An Lin got into the car, Qin Mu sitting beside her teased.

An Lin stuck out her tongue, then soothed herself by patting her chest, before saying, "Maybe she really would."

"What did Mom say to you that scared you like this?"

Qin Mu stared at An Lin for a couple of seconds, a look of puzzlement forming on his face.

An Lin fastened her seatbelt and saw him gazing at her inquisitively, not starting the car, so she couldn’t help but frown, "Ah Mu, drive the car."

"Hmm."

Qin Mu finally started the car.

"Why bother driving to the airport and then having Uncle Liu take over? Isn’t it much trouble? Why not just let Uncle Zhang drive us there?"

The Uncle Zhang mentioned by An Lin was her family’s chauffeur.

"It’s not troublesome. By the way, you still haven’t told me, what did Mom say to you just now?"

As soon as Qin Mu spoke, he circled back to the earlier topic. Seeing him turn his head to look at her, An Lin felt her face warm up with a mix of amusement and embarrassment remembering what her mother-in-law had said.

"What’s the unspeakable secret?"

Qin Mu narrowed his eyes, asking with a smile.

An Lin chuckled, "Mom said, I should keep an eye on you, to prevent you from flirting around."

Qin Mu found it unbelievable, "Is that really my own mom? She actually spoke ill of her son. It seems like you’re going to completely replace me in Mom’s heart."

"Then just don’t go around flirting, and that will solve it, won’t it?" An Lin laughed softly.

"Which eye of yours saw me flirting around?"

Qin Mu glanced at her sideways, then refocused on the road condition.

Her phone rang. An Lin did not respond to his question but looked down and took it out, blinking at the caller ID.

"Hello!"

"Miss An, this is Gao Yuwen."

Upon hearing this, An Lin’s eyes changed, "What is it?"

Hearing An Lin’s voice, Qin Mu turned to look at her, asking in a low whisper, "Who is it?"

An Lin pinched her phone, flatly saying, "Gao Yuwen."

On the other end of the phone, Gao Yuwen heard Qin Mu’s voice and let out a sarcastically amused chuckle, "Miss An, I know you and Ah Mu are married now. Shouldn’t you thank me, say, over a cup of coffee?"

"What do you mean?"

An Lin’s expression carried a hint of anger. Gao Yuwen had tried to drug Qin Mu’s drink, using such despicable methods to get into his bed. If it weren’t for her, Qin Mu would have suffered badly.

And now she had the audacity to ask for coffee.

"An Lin, you can’t just abandon someone after they’ve outlived their usefulness. I’m in City C waiting for you, tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the coffee shop downstairs from your company. If you don’t come, I will tell Qin Mu the truth."

After speaking, Gao Yuwen hung up the phone.

Fuming with anger, An Lin yelled, "Gao Yuwen."

But the other party had already disconnected the call.

From the driver’s seat, Qin Mu didn’t hear what Gao Yuwen said to An Lin, and seeing how angry she was, he knitted his brows and reached out with one hand to pat hers in a comforting manner.

The voice that spilled from his lips was low and mellow, "An Lin, don’t get angry because of someone unimportant."

In Qin Mu’s eyes, An Lin must be angry about the incident that night.

An Lin took a deep breath, fighting to calm the rage inside her. She replayed Gao Yuwen’s words in her mind, pursed her lips, and said lightly, "I’m not angry."

"If it’s not anger, from the way you just acted, I would suspect you were about to strangle her if Gao Yuwen were in front of you," Qin Mu said with a teasing smile at the corner of his mouth.

An Lin raised both hands to touch her cheeks, saying in distress, "Is it that exaggerated? At most, I would’ve slapped her twice."
