Li Hao had already noticed earlier that his panel attributes were still effective even against Supreme Saints.
The Ancient Demons before him didn’t seem as terrifying as the one fighting the middle-aged warrior; these ones were merely at the Saint level.
Kill!
Li Hao crouched on the bronze chariot’s platform and fully controlled the Remnant Blade to slash at several Ancient Demons.
The Remnant Blade remained as razor-sharp as ever, easily piercing through the Ancient Demons’ bodies. However, due to lacking additional power, the torn wounds quickly healed. Aside from causing them pain, it didn’t deal significant damage.
For beings capable of Blood Rebirth, such healable injuries could hardly even be called wounds.
They no longer dodged Li Hao’s Remnant Blade but instead used their Saint Domains to relentlessly ram the bronze chariot, attempting to drain the power of the light array.
Li Hao, meanwhile, continued slicing their bodies with the Remnant Blade. These Ancient Demons didn’t notice that the areas Li Hao targeted kept changing—from their skulls, eyeballs, and chest cavities to their wings, tails, and various other parts.
At times, the Remnant Blade grazed their flesh, sliding and cutting within their insides.
Other than feeling pain, the Ancient Demons’ injuries healed in the blink of an eye. They paid it no serious mind, focusing only on shattering the light array and dragging Li Hao out to consume him.
Without the interference of their Saint Domains, Li Hao wielded the Remnant Blade faster and faster. His gaze grew increasingly focused, like that of an exceptionally skilled master chef intently observing his ingredients on the cutting board.
The blade in hand, his eyes fixed on the ingredients. Though the blade had yet to strike, his palm seemed to gently sense the texture, bone structure, and veins of the material.
With each cut, Li Hao lost track of how many times the Remnant Blade had pierced their bodies. Yet in his mind, a virtual image of an Ancient Demon’s body was gradually taking shape.
Every bone, piece of flesh, and vein became vividly clear in his mind.
When the complete form of the Ancient Demon materialized in his thoughts, Li Hao’s eyes suddenly gleamed with an exceptionally bright and sharp light.
The Ancient Demons, relentlessly attacking the light array, suddenly seemed to sense something, an inexplicable unease creeping over them.
“Debone!”
Li Hao murmured.
The Remnant Blade in his hand abruptly spun at an incredible speed, like a skipping stone gliding over water. It traced agile and smooth arcs, skimming one Ancient Demon’s skull. In an instant, it separated bone from flesh, as smoothly as silk.
In the blink of an eye, no more than a heartbeat, this Ancient Demon’s body was reduced to a lifeless corpse.
Its body had fallen into death!
In just an instant, all its organs were destroyed; bones and flesh were severed.
But for an Ancient Demon, this did not signify true death. Its Primordial Spirit endured, merely now detached from its body upon the physical death.
Just as its Primordial Spirit was about to reattach to the body and initiate regeneration, Li Hao’s Primordial Spirit transformed into a blade, slicing viciously while his other hand captured the now-corpse-like form.
“Roar!”
The Ancient Demon unleashed a piercing screech, realizing the threat of death. The remaining Ancient Demons also detected the shift and hurriedly used their Saint Domains to shield the corpse, preventing Li Hao from taking it. If it were to be fully destroyed, the body would be rendered irrecoverable.
Although capable of Blood Rebirth, if not even a drop of blood remained, rebirth would be impossible, leaving only the Primordial Spirit intact.
Li Hao’s Object Control power was blocked by several layers of Saint Domains. His Primordial Spirit, transformed into a blade, aimed to slay the Ancient Demon’s Primordial Spirit.
But the opponent’s Primordial Spirit suddenly radiated a burst of dark light. As soon as Li Hao’s Primordial Spirit touched the darkness, he felt agonizing pain. A corrosive force surged toward him, as if melting his Primordial Spirit!
“What kind of attack is this?”
Li Hao’s expression changed sharply. He quickly withdrew his Primordial Spirit, but in just a fraction of a moment, its vitality had plummeted significantly, leaving it injured.
“Be careful, these Ancient Demons specialize in devouring souls. They’re extremely damaging to Primordial Spirits.”
The voice of the middle-aged warrior echoed in Li Hao’s mind. It carried hints of both surprise and approval as he said:
“Just hold them off; I’ll finish my fight soon!”
Hearing this, Li Hao glanced over at the warrior, noticing the Great Demon he was battling was already fleeing, with the warrior in close pursuit.
Li Hao inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. He didn’t dare send out his Primordial Spirit again. Instead, he resumed controlling the Remnant Blade, slashing at the other Ancient Demons’ bodies.
The earlier Ancient Demon, taking advantage of the reprieve, swiftly reattached its Primordial Spirit to its body, which then healed rapidly, restoring life to what had been a corpse.
Meanwhile, Li Hao directed the Remnant Blade toward another Ancient Demon. In an instant, the blade, as smooth as a surgical scalpel, severed the life from its body, turning it into a corpse just as quickly.
Another Ancient Demon’s Primordial Spirit was forced to detach, while the rest hurriedly used their Saint Domains to guard its body, allowing its Primordial Spirit to return.
Seeing this, Li Hao could only continually use the Remnant Blade to slaughter their bodies, forcing them into a defensive posture instead of attacking.
These Ancient Demons possessed Supreme Saint-level power and coordinated seamlessly to protect one another. Killing them outright was nearly impossible for Li Hao.
In a one-on-one fight, there might have been a chance, but Li Hao wasn’t in a rush. He only needed to hold them off until the middle-aged warrior returned.
As the Remnant Blade continued cutting with relentless speed, the Ancient Demons’ bodies were repeatedly slain by Li Hao. The blade was so swift they began sensing its terrifying power. Though they tried to resist and evade, it was already too late.
In just a heartbeat, the Remnant Blade could strike them down. Only now did they realize that the attacks from this Human were not random strikes but careful explorations of their bodies.
But it was already too late for regret. Forced to evade and cover for one another, they no longer had the opportunity to attack the bronze chariot.
