Chapter 681: Stir [Bonus]

Chapter 681: Stir [Bonus]

Sylas felt a pain and heaviness coming from his throat. He had only been speaking for an hour or so, and he didn’t believe that could be the cause. There must be a certain price to pay when he was speaking Ancient Ithkuil.

However, it was all too easy to push this to the back of his mind because one of the biggest worries he had been carrying around with him all along had just been cleared.

But more than that, he saw a path for the future.

As far as he had seen until now, beasts didn’t have Comprehensions. But that might be because they didn’t have the blessings of the system necessary to trigger them.

Nosphaleen might know of a method that allowed non-overlord Races to grasp Comprehensions, and if Sylas could give his contracts such Comprehensions, he would have a path both to make them and their bloodlines stronger.

Nosphaleen slowly awoke from her stupor, looking around in a daze.

She subconsciously flared out her wings and the harsh winds whipping by nearly sent her flying off the peacock’s back. Luckily for her, Sylas quickly caught her wrist before she could.

“You can go now.” Sylas nodded.

Nosphaleen looked toward Sylas with a grateful look as her confidence shot through the roof. Quite honestly, she had very much expected to die after entering, but she had planned to do so nonetheless.

Nosphaleen felt like she was carrying a lot of burdens on her shoulders, all of which were related to her Race and what remained of her family still stuck in captivity under the rule of the Sylphs…

She was willing to do any and everything under Sylas’ charge, so long as he gave her the chance for revenge. Even taking in that cancer Gene wasn’t even remotely her bottom line.

But now… what once was a faint hope actually shone quite bright.

Nosphaleen couldn’t help herself as she hugged Sylas tightly. She had already noticed that her clothing had been ripped apart, but the Clypsians had never been a prudish Race to begin with. She simply didn’t care.

Sylas let her do as she pleased until she composed herself.

“I’ll definitely come back.” She said firmly.

After that, her eyes glazed over and her body went limp. Sylas had to hurriedly catch her ability before his eyes sparkled with realization.

‘If I put her in the Hibernation Realm… would she gain time?’

Sylas shook his head. The Hibernation Realm could speed up recovery, but it wasn’t a time dilation as far as he knew. It was unlikely that things would work like that. ℞Ã𐌽ŎᛒĘŞ

‘Wait… that doesn’t mean that it won’t be helpful. Nosphaleen sent her Will into the Lineal Inheritance. I’ve experienced that before and fatigue will be inevitable.

‘But if her main body is in the Hibernation Realm, could it mean that she would have infinite stamina?’

The only thing Sylas was worried about was whether being in the Hibernation Realm might impact Nosphaleen’s trial. After all, the body of his contracts entered a state of limbo. If that impacted Nosphaleen’s mind, he could just end up wasting her time.

‘Let’s try it.’

Sylas pulled Nosphaleen into his Hibernation Realm and observed for a while. A light sparked in his eyes as he nodded in satisfaction.

As expected, there was no time dilation. But… his plan to give Nosphaleen infinite stamina seemed to be working. The Lineal Inheritance also hadn’t rejected his efforts.

So long as Nosphaleen didn’t use more Will than the Hibernation Realm could replenish, she would never run out.

However, the Hibernation Realm now had a recovery increase of +1,638,400%. Even Sylas couldn’t burn through that much of his Mental stats so quickly.

Sylas looked off into the distance as harsh icy winds whipped around as he locked eyes with a familiar land.

The Grimblades were in the Appalachians, a chain of mountains near the northeast of Terranova. As such, it was actually quite convenient to find an exit portal that was near them. The best one was locked away in the basement of Cassarae’s City Lord Mansion.

Sylas had long returned to Earth and was soaring at altitude. Snow-capped mountain ranges passed beneath him as he breathed in the cool air.

Cardio was something that Sylas had always liked to do, and runs on hiking paths were most definitely a guilty pleasure of his.

Now it seemed that everything he did pretty much fit into that mold, so he hadn’t thought that he would miss it very much. But oddly enough, he felt the urge to have the peacock set him down so he could race across these icy hills.

He wondered… how far could he push this current body of his? How much did he have in the tank if he emptied it completely?

As he was lost in thought, the peacock suddenly flared out its wings, swinging up and flapping hard.

Sylas managed to stay on its back with an adjustment to his feet, looking out to see what the problem might be.

‘A barrier…’

Had the peacock kept going at this speed, it would have crashed headfirst and maybe even broken its neck. Sylas was surprised by its sharp instincts, even he had missed this barrier.

A part of that was because he was distracted and didn’t expect to find such a thing, but another reason was because it was so well hidden.

Also, logically, there shouldn’t be such a thing here. After all, this was Earth, there was no Aether to rely on for the most part.

Although that was changing as the Aether Plane and Earth integrated more and more, there was still a large gap in Aether concentration between the two worlds. Certainly Earth didn’t have enough to form such a large-scale formation.

As the peacock settled down, Sylas was able to walk forward from its back and across its neck to reach out and touch the barrier.

A ripple passed through and Sylas felt a slight spark.

‘It seems they’ve detected me.’

Down below, still over a hundred kilometers away, the Grimblades began to stir.
