Chapter 2049 Another Absolute.
If they fail in what they are trying to do, their fate will be worse than that of the Supreme. The Supreme is dead, but his influence still remains. But they and everything they have ever done will disappear across time and space.
Not that it matters. Dead is dead. But at least the Supreme might be able to resurrect somehow. It is a slim chance, but it is possible.
The Supreme is gone, but his past remains for some reason. So his past can be used to resurrect.
It is a weird situation because they can tell that his influence on the past is still present despite being absent from the time stream himself.
They discovered some other interesting things too. One of them is that they didn’t notice any other ABSOLUTE through the origin.
This was understandable because they knew through the memories of the god of power that either the Supreme chased them away or they left.
Where those Absolutes went is unknown. But what is confusing is that ANNIHILATION is not connected to their origin.
Every Absolute in the cosmos should have the same origin. They don’t know where the other Absolutes are, but they know that ANNIHILATION is just outside the void universe. Yet, he is not connected to this origin.
“It is either ANNIHILATION has another origin or the Supreme cut off his connection. It should be impossible to cut off the connection of a limitless, much less that of an ABSOLUTE, but the lord of madness doesn’t have common sense.”
What’s more baffling is that now that the lord of madness is no more, ANNIHILATION shouldn’t be in prison anymore. After all, if the lord of madness doesn’t exist in the time stream anymore, he shouldn’t have been able to imprison ANNIHILATION in the first place.
In fact, no one should remember him. Everyone should have forgotten that he existed, and everything that he ever did should have disappeared.
This was what was on their mind when they finally exited the origin.
They don’t know how much time they had spent in their origin. It could have been an instant or an infinite amount of time. They didn’t know. Fortunately, it didn’t matter.
They jumped out of the origin and into the time stream. Then they fell more towards a tiny spot of light in the bright winding river that is the time stream.
Their destination was the moment they created the aspect of Independence. It wasn’t a far distance. They would reach it in less than an instant at their speed.
But while they were moving, the distance between them and their destination remained constant. They weren’t getting closer to their destination no matter what they did.
Something was blocking their entry into the past. This force or influence isn’t the Time Lock. In fact, the Time Lock didn’t appear to exist at all.
It seemed as if it was later in the future from this point that the Time Lock was set up. At this point in time, the Time Lock hadn’t been set up.
So there shouldn’t be something preventing them from changing the past. But there was, and it was powerful enough to resist them.
This resistance is not ordinary. It has to be something powerful since it was interfering in their process of becoming ABSOLUTES. There are only two things that they know that can stop them from becoming ABSOLUTES.
“Did the ABSOLUTE outside of the void universe that wanted to kill us chase us up to this place?”
They were wondering if ANNIHILATION had followed them up to this point. It should be possible, but it shouldn’t have happened so fast.
There should have been an ocean of time between them and the imprisoned ANNIHILATION. So while it is possible, they should have had more time.
When they thought about it more, they realized that it couldn’t be ANNIHILATION because if it was, their past should have been destroyed, and they shouldn’t have a destination to get to.
But they clearly have a destination, which means that their past is intact. But something is blocking their way.
While they were wondering what was going on, a message reached them from an unknown source.
The message was short. It was also audiovisual. So there were images accompanying the voice in the message.
The message said, “Good for you, little thing. It looks like an ABSOLUTE is about to appear in your cosmos. You have me to thank for that. I killed your Supreme, the Lord of Madness. If he were still alive, you would never have been born.”
In the message, they saw a massive creature that had entrenched itself in the time stream. That creature was severed from the time stream by the source of the message.
They couldn’t see what the source of the message was since it didn’t want to show itself to them. As for the massive creature that had entrenched itself in the time stream, they only got a brief look at it.
What they saw was a massive snake that stretched across the whole time stream. It had tentacles that branched off into various parts of the time stream too.
This creature was in complete control of the time stream. So even though they didn’t get a good look at it, they knew that its identity was the Supreme of the cosmos.
The Supreme was removed from the time stream by the owner of the voice. But the things the Lord of Madness had done still remained because this entity was maintaining it.
ANNIHILATION remained in prison, and the void universe still exists because the things the Lord of Madness did were maintained by a powerful entity.
They don’t know why this entity still wants the effects created by the actions of the Lord of Madness to remain, but it is right that they should thank this entity for giving them this opportunity to speak.
But then they chuckled and said, “If we succeed in becoming an ABSOLUTE, doesn’t that mean the Lord of Madness’s purpose for building the void universe is will come to pass?”
