She placed the palm of her hand on her forehead and kneaded as if she had a migraine.

Then she asked them, “Must you do that today? Must you do that so soon? Can’t you wait for three months? Even one more month will do. 20 days of being in rank 1 is too short.”

He said, “To reply to your question, I must do it today. I can’t wait anymore. I feel that I am ready, and I know that I need to be powerful if I am to be useful to this division and achieve my goals.”

His response made her sigh before saying, “You’re stressing me. But a promise is a promise. Let’s go.”

She took him to the second underground floor to meet the custodian. The custodian is in charge of the prison, so they need his acknowledgement before they can kill three prisoners.

She told him about their goal in hopes that he would disagree or dissuade Levi. But the custodian was happy to hear that Levi was ready to advance so soon.

Of course, just to be safe, they performed a series of tests to ascertain his mental stability. They used the normal temptation of the divine flesh to see if he would cave to temptation.

They also made him touch the powerful rank 2 divine flesh of another pathway and see if he shows any adverse reactions to them.

Usually, those who touch divine flesh of another pathway will begin to have an allergic reaction if they are unstable within themselves. But nothing happened to him. He was fine after 10 seconds of contact with the divine flesh.

They tried many other methods to test him, but he passed all of them with flying colors. The tests weren’t a problem for him, but he made sure to pretend that he was struggling to pass them.

The custodian couldn’t hold him back after the results of the test came out. So the three of them went to the prison to pick who he would kill to advance.

The custodian picked two killers and a warrior for him to kill. He unlocked the drawers they were in and pulled them out of the locker. The rest was up to Levi.

The three godclads were still unconscious when their seal was removed. They were just beginning to wake up. Even then, their bodies were weak and their muscles were atrophied, so there was very little they could do to resist him.

The godclads looked like starving refugees. They have been reduced to bones after years of being sealed.

They were laid out on tables in front of Legion. Legion activated Sever and used it to coat the edge of their hand. Then they shoved their hand into the godclad’s chest and crushed their hearts.

The attack was easy for them to execute, but the outcome was devastating. From activating the divine ability to pushing their hands into someone else’s chest, it was smooth.

There was no resistance at all. The red light of Sever cut through every resistance for them. The same would have been the case if the targets were wearing armor or were made of metal.

Of course, in the case of armored or metallic targets, their hands would be damaged because they can’t cover their whole hand with the effect of the dicien ability yet. But that will be resolved when they reach a mastery of 100% of the divine ability.

Still, just a mastery of 10% is very useful. They were able to use this mastery to shift the location of the effect of the divine ability from the palm of their hands and tips of their fingers to the edge of their hand to turn their hand into a blade of sorts.

With their whole hand in the chest of the godclads, they began to spasm. Their bodies shook in death throes. One of them even woke up and screamed in pain.

The three men died. When they died, their divine flesh was expelled from their corpse. Blood of various colors flowed out of the true corpses and solidified into the divine flesh.

The color of the divine flesh of the path of killing is red, while that of the path of warriors was silver. Their respective divine flesh also had the same color.

After the divine flesh appeared, they began tempting everyone around them. They also tried to crawl away to find the nearest living thing.

The custodian wore thick protective gloves, which he used to pick the divine fleshes. Then he sealed them in boxes and put them aside.

Next, he and Levi began the work of disposing of the three corpses. It was after they were done that the custodian took Levi to assimilate the rank 2 divine flesh of the pathway of killing.

First, the custodian went to make the auxiliary potion to clear his mind of distractions. Thereafter, he was taken to a room and chained down.

After he was secured, he was given the potion and the divine flesh. The rank 2 divine flesh of the pathway of killing was dropped on top of him. It drilled into his body as soon as it made contact with him.

It was as if there was something within him that was pulling the rank 2 divine flesh or something within him that the divine flesh wanted to get, so it drills into him. When it got within him, it began to merge with him.
