In fact, the Stealing Abilities divine ability can steal and use more than one divine ability at the same time. So not only can one rank 4 divine ability turn into a rank 9 divine ability, it can turn into many rank 9 divine abilities too.
The number of divine abilities that can be stolen and used at once is dependent on the mastery of divine ability. Thieves gain one slot at 1%, 10%, 20%, 50%, and 100% mastery. So they can use a maximum of 5 stolen divine abilities with their single rank 4 divine ability.
Since Thieving Hammer just became a rank 4 godclad, the mastery of his divine ability is at 1%. So he can only use one divine ability currently.
He used this one slot for his rank 4 divine ability to steal the rank 1 divine ability of a rank 1 assassin. The rank 1 assassin became unable to use Cloak, while Thieving Hammer became able to use Cloak as well as any assassin.
This way, it didn’t look like two different godclads were infiltrating the base of the Bright Coin gang. The two of them were like two assassins.
The only difference was that Black Hammer was more experienced at sneaking than Thieving Hammer. After all, she has had the Cloak divine ability for many years now.
Thieving Hammer just got the Cloak divine ability, and his mastery of it is at 1%. His mastery will remain stuck at that point until he improves the mastery of the original Stealing Abilities divine ability.
So Thieving Hammer was less experienced and less stealthy than Black Hammer. If there were a lot of guards, this weakness might have been discovered, and the plan of the two of them to sneak into the base might have been foiled.
Fortunately, their target was a money grubber. There is also the benefit of the implicit understanding between the two slaves.
Because the two of them share the same master, they can coordinate well with each other. Even without talking to each other, their actions will work well with each other’s.
When they snuck into the base, Mirlo was checking the account books. As a gang leader, it is his job to make sure that the finances of his gang and territory are in order. As a merchant, it is his favorite pastime to check the account books.
Mirlo is either checking records, counting his money, or running his business. He is never sleeping. He rarely eats and doesn’t do anything to enjoy himself that will cost him money.
So Mirlo was sitting at a table checking the records. This situation meant that they couldn’t sneak up to Mirlo from his front.
It is common sense that nothing can sneak past the scrutinizing gaze of merchants. This is both figurative and literal.
Merchants like money and valuable things. To be able to find and keep those valuable things, they have two different observation divine abilities to help them.
They have the rank 1 divine ability called Evaluation and the rank 2 divine ability called Identification. Evaluation determines the value of an object or person, while identification helps a merchant determine the functions and identity of an object or person.
These two abilities ensure that a merchant can’t be cheated. They will be able to determine real from fake and will be able to see something or someone trying to sneak past them.
The two hammers were about to enter the room that Mirlo was in. But seeing as he was facing the only door to the room, they retreated and decided to take the roof and the window.
The more experienced Black Hammer took the window while Thieving Hammer circled back to climb into the ceiling.
The window was high up on the wall and was tricky to climb. It was also close to Mirlo, so any noise during the process of climbing it would alert Mirlo.
Legion determined that Black Hammer should take the window since he was better at sneaking. Meanwhile, Thieving Hammer took to the roof and positioned himself right above Mirlo.
Thieving Hammer’s position was just right since he would be the first to make a move on Mirlo. He needed to steal Mirlo’s rank 4 divine ability called the Power of Wealth, or this mission would fail.
The Power of Wealth is a divine ability that can give a rank 4 merchant enough raw physical power to match a rank 9 godclad. It is not an understatement to call it one of the most powerful divine abilities.
The most powerful divine ability is Sever. It can cut anything. But the Power of Wealth is a close contender.
Of course, a rank 4 merchant will require an astronomical amount of money to match a rank 9 godclad. But it is more feasible for a rank 4 merchant to match a rank 6 godclad. E
This is especially possible if that rank 4 merchant is a gang leader in charge of a wealthy district. The power of a rank 4 merchant with a lot of wealth cannot be underestimated. It can only be overestimated.
This is why merchants rarely attack people. It is so that no one will get an accurate grasp of their power, which will keep their enemies afraid.
This strategy has worked on Legion, which is why they are taking this mission seriously. They are so serious about it that they don’t plan to keep Mirlo alive as a slave. They want to go all out trying to kill him so that nothing will go wrong and Mirlo will escape.
Thieving Hammer fell to the ground on top of Mirlo. As he was falling down, he stretched out his hand and activated his Stealing Abilities divine ability while activating both Sever and the Blood Limbs divine abilities from the pathway of killing. He was going all out in his mission to kill.
Despite using abilities from the pathway of the slave, he didn’t show a second pupil because the pathway of the slave has fused with him.
