I Can Infinitely Synthesize Transcendent Genes

Chapter 473: 【368】Demon King, I've long admired your great name! The might of a single sword!

“Most of the people here have already been brainwashed; it’s really not easy for someone like Yin Niansheng, a strong practicioner of Sword Dao, to appear.”

He paused.

Lou Hai suddenly turned his head, his expression one of surprise.

“Demon King, where are you going?”

“I’m going back to sleep,” Pei Jinye replied without turning back.

Lou Hai’s face was full of astonishment: “Going back?”

He had thought that the Demon King would take action tonight, only to realize that he had thought too much.

“What else to do if not go back? Stand here in front of all these people and tell them I’m the Demon King of the Old Gods Association, and invite them to come kill me?” Pei Jinye said irritably. “You see the Elders know how to keep a low profile, but you don’t even have that sense…”

As he spoke, he raised his eyebrows.

“Lou Hai.”

“Ah? What is it, Demon King?” Lou Hai looked utterly confused.

Pei Jinye shook his head: “You’re done for. You didn’t even notice someone was tailing you. Better send a signal to the Elder fast and hope his home hasn’t been tampered with.”

When he heard this, Lou Hai’s face turned deathly pale in an instant.

“No, that can’t be, right?”

His words had barely left his mouth.

When he saw three masked figures holding sharp long knives appear at the other end of the forest path.

Lou Hai’s face lost all its color as he fumbled to retrieve his communicator.

The three masked assassins disappeared from where they were.

Pei Jinye calmly raised his hand.

A sword materialized out of thin air in his hand.

“Clang clang clang!”

Sparks flew.

Mutation.

In an instant, from Pei Jinye’s hand, the Sword Light Burst. Countless crimson flame streams traced beautiful arcs in front of him, enveloping the three figures.

“Bang bang bang!”

The three masked assassins were sent flying on the spot.

Pei Jinye quickly thrust his sword towards the throat of one.

He charged forward.

The assassin who had burrowed into the ground was forcibly yanked out by him.

“Since you’re already here, have a seat before you go.”

“Pfft!”

Legs pierced, blood gushed like a fountain.

Just as the masked assassin couldn’t help but let out a scream, his head was pushed directly into the ground by Pei Jinye.

Pei Jinye paid him no attention.

He looked toward the last assassin who was fleeing into the distance.

His figure flashed.

“Crack!”

The man’s back was hit as though struck by a high-speed train.

Blood sprayed wildly.

He plunged headfirst into the forest.

Subsequently, the forest fell into complete silence.

After more than ten seconds had passed.

Pei Jinye finally walked out slowly.

He grabbed the Earth Element Master who was buried headfirst in the ground and pressed his hand against his frightened face.

“Sand Flame Association, quite the nerve to try something like this.”

He pressed down hard.

Without a sound, darkness devoured the other’s spiritual world.

“Demon King, it’s over, I can’t contact the Elder now…” Lou Hai stammered.

Just as he moved, wanting to walk over, he tripped over a body on the ground and stumbled getting up.

Pei Jinye threw aside the body in his hand and looked at Lou Hai.

“I even thought for a moment you were a traitor.”

Lou Hai, his hands sticky, didn’t dare to move because of Pei Jinye’s words. He struggled to force a smile: “Demon King, I swear by the sun and moon…”

Pei Jinye turned his head to look over, “Stop talking and get up. If you don’t want to be wrapped up like a dumpling, move quickly.”

If he hadn’t devoured the assassin’s memory, he would have really killed Lou Hai just now.

Lou Hai had no idea he had just narrowly escaped death.

Picking himself up, he patted down his clothes in a hurry: “So what do we do now? Go back? I don’t know when a magnetic field was set up here, my space transmission is blocked.”

“Is the household still having a falling out with the Sand Flame Association recently?” Pei Jinye casually scanned the surroundings, pulled out a mobile phone from one of the men’s pockets, and quickly searched through it.

The order to the Sand Flame Association’s killers had just been issued.

The person who issued the command was Gu Haizun.

About Gu Haizun, Pei Jinye got basically all the information from memory…

Among the 72 Flaming Envoys of the Sand Flame Association, Gu Haizun’s father was one of them.

“Yes, after a few Elders went out temporarily, our house got messed with by the Sand Flame Association. When the Elders returned, they directly eliminated two of their strongholds, afterward, both parties settled it with words…

Then, it was because of the Western Fire League. After we killed the leader of the Western Fire League, the Sand Flame Association got involved, preventing us from absorbing the Western Fire League’s power. Since then, there have been several frictions.”

“It wasn’t until we completely wiped out the Western Fire League last time that the Sand Flame Association finally settled down.”

Pei Jinye silently retracted his gaze.

Leading Lou Hai out of the mountain woods.

“Demon King, I finally have a signal.” Lou Hai almost cried with excitement, to which Pei Jinye nodded in acknowledgment.

After waiting for a moment, Lou Hai managed to connect with the Elder and cautiously reported the recent events.

Then, he handed the phone to Pei Jinye, “The Elder wants to speak with you personally.”

Pei Jinye took the phone.

Elder Wuji laughed lightly on the other end, “You rascal, you don’t appreciate the sealing objects from the North Continent, do you?”

“The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak,” Pei Jinye sighed softly.

Elder Wuji was startled, then seriously said, “Is the backlash from the Demon Bone worsening? Perhaps I did not consider it thoroughly. How about this, I’ll arrange for you to stay in the ancient village for a while, to properly take care of your health.”

“You are too kind, Elder, but let it be,” Pei Jinye was about to continue his charade when an uninvited guest arrived.

“Old Gods Association Demon King, I’ve long heard of your reputation.”

Kun Sheng’s gaze scrutinized Pei Jinye, “You’ve been in the Western Continent for just one day, and I’ve already heard a lot about you. You didn’t use your full strength when you killed those three pieces of trash, did you? Spar with me; if you win, I’ll give you something good.”

On the phone, Elder Wuji seemed to understand something.

“You rascal, handle it yourself. If you can’t, someone will take you away.”

The call was disconnected.

Pei Jinye’s face turned dark.

Damn.

He was ready to feign weakness in order to deceive some resources.

But someone just happened to expose his act.

In that instant, Pei Jinye’s heart ached.

The way he looked at Kun Sheng became a few degrees more dangerous.

However, he glanced at the commotion coming from behind.

Lou Hai tugged at his sleeve, whispering, “They’re from the Federation, my abilities are restricted, and we should not linger here.”

Pei Jinye nodded and left a message.

“Not today, let’s schedule another time to fight.”

With the people from the Federation drawn here, he didn’t want to become a target for all.

Exposing himself in front of so many would make it easy for those in dark corners to deduce something.

Not to mention, he was currently accompanied by Lou Hai, who was a burden.

Just as he was about to leave with Lou Hai,

the way forward was blocked by Kun Sheng’s followers.

Kun Sheng sneered, “What are you afraid of? Isn’t the Western Continent your Old Gods Association’s stronghold? Such a grand God Son, do you really need to be afraid of these people? Fight me! If you win, you’ll be rewarded!”

“Can’t you understand human speech?” Pei Jinye’s gaze remained calm as he looked onward.

“Fight!” Kun Sheng said succinctly.

Pei Jinye looked at Lou Hai, “You go first.”

Lou Hai’s expression subtly changed, “Demon King!”

However, seeing the look in Pei Jinye’s eyes, he sighed inwardly, knowing that persuasion was futile, and nodded.

“Be careful. I’ll be ready to back you up from the outside.”

Kun Sheng did not stop Lou Hai but allowed him to leave, his eyes wholly focused on Pei Jinye.

“I heard you’ve entered the Middle Three Realm of Martial Arts. I hope you’re a bit stronger than that waste from the Heavy Equipment Association.”

Pei Jinye raised his hand and flicked it forward; Kun Sheng’s expression shifted.

What surprised him, however, was the sudden grunt from the distant woods.

He frowned as he looked over.

Pei Jinye said indifferently, “If you all want to watch, then just watch quietly. If you want to take a shot at my people, you’d better weigh your own heads first.”

The shadows in the woods immediately scattered somewhat.

Kun Sheng was surprised and looked at Pei Jinye, “I like your temper.”

Pei Jinye ignored him, focusing on the dark shadows in the nearby woods.

In the silent standoff,

the shadows chose to retreat.

Witnessing this, Kun Sheng grinned, exposing his teeth, “From the looks of it, you do seem to be a bit stronger than that waste from the Heavy Equipment Association, come on then!”

With a “hum,” a long, lingering sound of sword singing suddenly rose, hovering in front of Kun Sheng.

He still did not draw his sword.

The moment he grasped the scabbard with one hand, the wind he pulled was like the roar of a dragon and a tiger’s growl—not quite majestic, but the violent collision of the Gang Wind was chill enough to be felt clearly.

“Clang!”

Pei Jinye’s sword unsheathed.

The light and shadow in front of him split in two.

Far from being as arrogant as Kun Sheng, he struck with the Thunderbolt Sword right from the start.

The next second.

Kun Sheng’s face drastically changed.

“Pfft!”

A mouthful of blood spurted out.

Suddenly, the entire mountain forest went quiet!
