Heavenly Mountain.

The main hall of Bu Tian Jiao.

A streak of light descended and transformed into Sun Changsheng, who waved his hand to set down the altar and the divine portal.

“Younger brother, here is the item you requested.”

“Is this the portal that can open the domain boundary?”

Zhou Yi waved his hand to pull it over, his Divine Sense scanning the altar. Inside were many mysterious patterns, dissimilar to both the paths of immortals and witches. Instead, it bore some resemblance to the Incense Flame Deification Technique.

“Divine cultivation technique, through Formation and Prohibition, opens a gateway between two worlds.”

“According to the Witch God, in the vast sea of realms, infinitely distant and yet infinitely close worlds exist. Even Golden Immortals cannot break through the realm barriers, but the divine realm can open them through the altar, certainly containing some profound mysteries!”

Zhou Yi further probed the divine portal, a gateway forged from incense, mana, and inscriptions. It made the intangible tangible, and within it lay more profound mysteries.

“This divine realm has deeper waters than the Immortal Realm. I hope there will be no lingering troubles from grasping this hot potato!”

The Immortal Realm plundered the essence of this world through the Heavenly Leak in the realm barrier, without which the method of ascension would be utterly unfeasible. Any human immortal who even entertained the thought of escaping this realm would face the five declines of heaven and man in an instant.

The method of plunder employed by the divine realm was much more exquisite than that of the Immortal Realm, actually capable of constructing gateways artificially.

Heaven’s mandate did not send down divine punishment for this, indicating that it conformed to the rules. Even the Lord of Heaven could only watch helplessly as the essence flowed through the divine portal.

“Thoroughly understanding this method, we could imitate the divine realm and open gateways to other worlds, continually replenishing the essence of our world…”

“As for how to search for other worlds, we can rely on the method of reincarnation!”

Zhou Yi pulled out the “Sutra of Reincarnation” from his sleeve, the supreme secret scripture of Buddhism, allowing one to split a wisp of divine soul and reincarnate.

If the reincarnated individual could break through the fog of confusion in the womb and awaken memories of past lives, they could Return to the Origin, integrating all their cultivation and insights with their original being to enhance their Cultivation Realm.

This scripture was profound, touching upon the cycle of reincarnation.

Alas, very few in Buddhism actually practiced it, one reason being that they could not control their reincarnated identity, and another being the difficulty in breaking through the confusion in the womb.

After reincarnation, there’s no guarantee of being human, and being human doesn’t ensure a Spirit Root. Even with a Spirit Root, one might not gain entry to the path of cultivation. And even upon entry, awakening innate wisdom can be elusive…

The cumulative effect of these numerous conditions meant that out of hundreds or thousands of attempts at the method, only a rare few would return, leading to the needless loss of divine souls.

“However, I differ, with endless life spans, theoretically endless reincarnations … and more so, if the split soul is Changsheng, as long as it does not die prematurely, it will eventually awaken its innate wisdom!”

“According to the Sutra of Reincarnation, after ten reincarnations one could attain the status of an Arhat, and upon a hundred, achieve the fruit of Bodhisattva!”

Zhou Yi still had doubts about this method and had not truly practiced it in over four thousand years.

The secret scriptures of Buddhism are often strange and guaranteed to contain Buddhist principles and texts. Once applied too frequently, one might inadvertently become a disciple of Buddhism.

“This matter requires careful consideration over time…”

Zhou Yi’s eyes sparkled subtly as he contemplated containment measures, though the specific execution would need further refinement.

In the hall.

Sun Changsheng circled the Jian Mu tree a few times, eyes wide with wonder: “As expected of the Heavenly Pillar, Spiritual Energy is generated from nothing, involving the world’s essence. I must humble myself before it!”

Zhou Yi said, “Such treasures, by nature, belong to no one. After mending the Heavenly Leak, they become the foundation of heaven and earth.”

“Younger brother, how much longer until the Heavenly Leak is mended?”

Sun Changsheng scratched his head, “Before that, I, Old Sun, will ascend to the Immortal Realm to seek out my master.”

“Then let me wish my second brother a smooth journey in advance.”

Zhou Yi’s eyes held a smile, “I’ll need at least another five thousand years to mature this Jian Mu. Second brother has a long lifespan, so there’s no rush. There’s actually a favour I’d like to ask of you.”

Sun Changsheng responded, “Just say the word, younger brother.”

“In some years to come, I will visit a place of old.”

Zhou Yi nodded slightly, “There resides a great Demon Head. After thousands of years, it has at least become a human immortal. By then, I will need second brother’s help to lend a hand!”

A battle between human immortals could destroy entire continents.

When returning to the old lands of the Nine Continents, several human immortals could launch a surprise attack and obliterate the Demon Head.

Sun Changsheng’s eyes lit up, “There are other human immortals in this world?”

“Naturally.”

Zhou Yi continued, “Dongsheng Divine Continent is only one continent. Other lands also have immortal cultivation inheritances, each with their own magnificent histories and legends unfolding.”

Excited, Sun Changsheng scratched his head and sat down cross-legged, “Quick, tell me more, I am so eager to hear!”

“That place is called the Nine Continents.”

Zhou Yi spoke somberly, “Let’s start from a little Marketplace on the Small Dan Mountain. There was a lad named Xiao Tiezhu who, by luck, got a scroll of Cultivation Technique and entered the Marketplace to cultivate…”

Sun Changsheng, puzzled, asked, “Why enter the Marketplace? Would it not be safer to simply find a mountain elsewhere?”

“…”

Zhou Yi reluctantly explained that sects had encircled Spirit Veins within the mundane world, leaving the outside world’s Spiritual Energy extremely thin.

Grinning from ear to ear, Sun Changsheng said, “How preposterous for sects to exist in the world like that. If Old Sun knew, I’d turn them to ashes with a swing of my staff!”

Reflecting on his own hardships in pursuit of the path to immortality, had he lived in the Nine Continents, he might have perished before embarking on the immortal path.

“In this world, where is the fairness? The Heavenly Court also controls Spirit Veins and Spiritual Objects, forbidding random immortality cultivation against the cosmic laws. Their control is no less strict than in the Nine Continents!”

Zhou Yi shook his head slightly; no matter the distance, wherever people rule, the outcomes are the same.

“Back to Xiao Tiezhu, with no significant income from farming in the Marketplace, he was gifted Five Dou of Spiritual Rice by a neighbor, just to be conned out of it later. So, he went up the mountain to mine…”

Zhou Yi recounted his personal experiences, which differed completely from fictional tales told in the streets. His story carried an air of authenticity,

Sun Changsheng, seeing the legends of the Cultivation World and the grand scale of its events, couldn’t help but sigh, “Such a character, born in the Nine Continents, truly a pity!”
