<Author's Notes>

I didn't have time to write, so today's chapter is short.

I carry Kaori-san down the stairs in a princess carry. To be honest, I thought it would be tough to go all the way down the stairs like this from start to finish, but surprisingly, it turned out manageable.

Today, I somehow felt like I had more strength than usual. Maybe my Body Strengthening Magic has become quite powerful…… Just as I was thinking that…… I suddenly caught sight of Alice in a spot that was out of Kaori-san and Olivia-san’s line of sight. Alice gave me a quick thumbs-up before disappearing.

……Ah, I see. It’s not that I’ve grown stronger or anything, but rather that Alice was secretly casting some kind of Support Magic on me from a distance…… In other words, even Alice thought it would be difficult for me to carry someone all the way down the stairs, or at the very least, I would have been completely exhausted by the end…… I owe her my thanks.

[Kaori-san, we’ve arrived, so I’ll set you down now.]

[Unn, thanks. Wow, Kaito-kun, you're actually pretty well-trained. You carried me without any issues, and it felt really secure. Being carried in a princess carry was a new experience for me, it was fun! ……Well, it was also super embarrassing, so when I get home, I’m probably gonna roll around on my bed in embarrassment.]

[A- Ahaha…… Errr, so, our last stop is dinner at the restaurant, right? Olivia-san, is the restaurant close by?]

Smiling wryly at Kaori-san’s typical reaction, I check the schedule with Olivia-san. She looks a little tired, but not as exhausted as she was on the way up.

Still, there's no doubt she’s fatigued. Depending on how things go, we could take a short break before moving on…… Wait a second. I just realized something———– if I had used Αναμνήσεις, I could have buffed Olivia-san, and she could have gone up and down the stairs easily. I hadn’t thought of that until now, but seeing Alice discreetly supporting me made me realize it.

It’s too late now, but if there’s a next time, I’ll give it a try.

[Yes. I’ve booked a highly rated restaurant that’s relatively close to the park where we planned to watch the sunset, so the travel time won’t be long.]

From Olivia-san’s response, it seems like there’s no issue. I double-check the reservation time just in case, and since we have a bit of leeway, we decide to take a short break before setting off again, hand in hand.

[Olivia-sama, which restaurant did you end up choosing for dinner?]

[I chose the one Mizuhara Kaori strongly recommended.]

[Eh? That’s amazing! How did you even get a reservation? I heard it’s incredibly popular, with bookings filled up months in advance……]

[Yes, I sent them an inquiry letter, and they responded that I could reserve a table at any time, so I made the booking.]

……With those words, I remembered what happened at the restaurant during lunch. Olivia-san had probably sent a letter under her own name from the Cathedral, and she must have done the same for the dinner reservation.

In other words, from the restaurant’s perspective, the Founder herself requested to dine there…… Of course, they would prioritize securing a table for her no matter what.

[……Hey, Kaito-kun. Isn’t this going to be another VIP treatment situation like at lunch?]

[I’m pretty sure it will be. But since the restaurant already knows the Founder is coming, they’ll probably make special arrangements, so in a way, that might actually be a good thing?]

[Oh, I see. If there’s no risk of a commotion, then maybe it’s better that way…… Hmmm, but as a commoner, getting VIP treatment just makes me weirdly nervous.]

[Ahaha, I understand how you feel.]

[No, you’re also among the VIPs though……]

Smiling wryly at Kaori-san’s exasperated murmur, I followed Olivia-san’s lead as we made our way to the restaurant.

<Afterword>

Serious-senpai : [The date is almost over, huh? There don’t seem to be any big events left……]

? ? ? : [Kaori-san's still gonna have her hug, remember?]

Serious-senpai : […………………..]
