Chapter 3798: A Quintessential Place! I
Master Shen stepped forward, his presence still as casual as ever, gourd lazily swinging at his side. He gave a slight nod to the serene figure seated before the X-shaped gateway.
"Vivana," he drawled.
The woman, clad in robes that shimmered like falling dusk, lifted her head slowly. Her voice was a calm ripple across the strings of Destiny and Kismet that coiled around them.
"You couldn’t stay away for long, could you?" Master Vivana, the Originus Venerant guardian of this place, murmured.
Shen chuckled and took a slow swig from his gourd. "You know me."
Then he turned toward Noah, who stood a few steps behind him, Sigrid still tethered to his wrist. The rope shimmered gently between them, catching the flicker of Fate that flowed through this domain.
"Young Paradox," Master Shen said, his tone now steadier, less playful. "How about doing the honors? Since none of us can seem to guess why that key just so happens to match the gateway we’ve guarded for eons."
...!
His words echoed lightly across the silent domain. All eyes turned to Noah.
Master Hannibal stood at the far edge of the circle, his gaze like a coiled blade. The other Masters and Etheopa, Primarchs like Kalysta...watched him closely, their collective presence like a mountain of stilled storms.
Noah simply nodded.
He said nothing as he began to drift forward, the tether at his wrist causing Sigrid to float behind him like a quiet balloon.
In his palm, the Living Origin Key of Existence buzzed.
It pulsed softly at first... then stronger.
Master Vivana stirred slightly, as if to speak- but Shen moved beside her, voice low and calm as he began explaining. Her eyes widened slightly as she listened, nodding slowly.
Ahead, the circle of seated Primarchs didn’t move.
But they parted.
Silently.
Twelve beings of immeasurable power- each with raw Complexity and Purity surpassing 700,000 SU- split the path, their eyes following Noah with intensity and something akin to caution.
True Power.
Noah could feel it in the air. It wasn’t just about Lattices or Quotients.
It was the fact that he, not them, was walking forward.
That he, not them, held the key.
That he, not them, had unlocked the anomaly no other being could even approach.
As Noah neared the floating X-shaped gateway, the Living Origin Key vibrated violently in his hand, the crimson-gold runes etched upon it spinning faster, interlocking with complex patterns to most eyes.
HUUM!
A beam of brilliant crimson-gold light shot forward from the key, slamming into the center of the gateway.
Light exploded.
The gateway shuddered, then began to shift.
Its limbs unfolded like blooming petals of an ancient flower garden, radiant structures spinning outward in beautiful, terrifying symmetry.
From its heart, brilliant energy surged into the surrounding fold, dragging pieces of folded space toward itself.
From it...
A tower began to form.
Crimson-gold, born of collapsed existences and shining threads of Destiny and Kismet alongside something even grander. Its surface swirled with runes and folded dimensions, its height unmeasurable, its presence undeniable!
It seemed larger than a Wheel of Existence, and as small as a World at the same time as distance was but a suggestion for it.
A tower constructed of authority.
And when it fully formed, when the last rune stitched into place and the glow reached its apex...
BOOM!
A pulse of light erupted from its summit.
It wasn’t destructive.
It wasn’t gentle.
It simply was.
A wave of crimson-gold brilliance that wrapped around every single entity present. From the lowliest Primarch to the highest Master of Existence.
Noah felt the wave roll over him like a storm of silence.
And then...
WAP!
The space was empty.
Gone were the Masters.
Gone were the Primarchs.
Gone was even Noah and Sigrid.
Only the newly awakened tower remained.
Floating in quiet reverence, humming with impossible energy...a Living Origin Tower of the Veiled Sunfolds now stood silently under the folds of existence.
—
The crimson-gold light was blinding.
Noah narrowed his eyes as it slowly began to dim, the weight of its brilliance peeling away layer by layer until his surroundings came into focus once more.
He was no longer in the domain where Master Shen had brought them.
They had been moved.
Transported- forcefully and deliberately.
The Foldspace around him was different now.
Thicker. Heavy. Distinct!
His first instinct was to reach for his tether.
Sigrid was still there, floating gently beside him, her expression caught in a blend of curiosity and wariness.
Kalysta hovered nearby as well, her gaze sharp as ever- but the numbers, Noah realized quickly, had shifted dramatically.
There were fewer of them now.
A quick scan revealed the truth. The Primarchs? Thinned out. From dozens to just over twenty.
Only the auras of some Masters of Existence remained.
Noah turned his gaze to see...
Master Hannibal, cold and stone faced, staring straight at him.
"..."
He blinked.
A heavy silence came and settled between them as they looked at each other.
It was like he had been cursing a rich bully and saying how even the bully could not make a move to beat him, and then he was locked in a small room with the bully right after.
"..."
But...
Noah’s eyes flickered and continued scanning the room for the only other Master of Existence.
Master Shen.
...!
He let out a slow, measured breath, a thin smile forming on his lips.
If Hannibal had been the only Master here, Noah knew his so-called True Power would have been little more than a ghost.
Circumstance and proximity defined that form of strength. But Shen’s presence changed everything. Balanced the scale. Introduced unpredictability into Hannibal’s precision.
Still... this was a complication. An unknown scenario.
Noah’s gaze swept the chamber.
They stood inside a perfectly square space the size of a football field. All four walls shimmered, alive with rolling sheets of crimson and gold light- constantly in motion like the folds of a dying star. The very air pulsed softly, humming with the weight of untold secrets.
And then...
PAH!
A Primarch stepped forward and took a step.
Just one step!
The floor responded with a quake, the entire chamber trembling as weavings of existence rippled outward in a ring.
Noah remained still, his expression unchanged- but his senses were alive.
The key in his hand burned hotter.
The artifact pulsed against his palm like it recognized this place, like it had been waiting for this exact moment.
Beside him, Sigrid’s bare feet touched the ground with a whisper of sound. Whatever gravity field that held her adrift had vanished. She stood now, not floating- her hair drifting lazily behind her as she glanced around with wide, intrigued eyes.
And then came the voice.
Casual. Lazy.
Yet still edged with authority.
"Let’s keep it civil, yeah? Nobody else move or do anything," said Master Shen.
The Primarch who had stepped forward gave a sharp nod and halted.
Then...
The quake resumed.
But this time it came from above.
BOOM!
Eighty-one perfect crimson-gold cubes descended from the ceiling like drops of liquid light, hovering at arm’s reach across the expanse.
They floated, unmoving, humming softly.
But they were not alone.
From the center of the square floor, fifty towering humanoid figures began to rise.
Four meters tall. Gleaming crimson-gold plating. Blank white masks hiding emotion or identity. They stood in lines like ancient statues, motionless, weapons sheathed at their backs, as if awaiting orders.
Noah’s eyes gleamed.
And at the far end of the space?
Nine colossal chests sat like majesty on thrones.
Crimson-gold.
Each one radiating such intensity of Complexity and Purity that caused even Master Shen...and even Master Hannibal to grow still with greed.
That much raw power leaked from them unchecked- authority enough to cause many wonders!
Noah tilted his head, thoughts already racing.
Then, the floor beneath them erupted in golden runes.
SHHHAAA!
Light surged upward, wrapping around each of them, pouring through skin and bone, threading into their minds like silk and lightning.
It was not painful.
It was simply... inevitable as it was waves of information!
|Welcome to the Living Origin Labyrinth.|
Noah’s pupils contracted as the words etched themselves in his mind and before his eyes.
His fingers tightened around the key.
Labyrinth?
He glanced around.
Sigrid was blinking rapidly beside him, her hand instinctively clutching the golden rope that bound her to him. Kalysta narrowed her eyes as if parsing invisible equations of destiny.
The Primarchs stood still. Masters Shen and Hannibal didn’t speak.
Because they were reading too.
All of them.
Absorbing the message now glowing in their minds as many more waves of information would follow!
