Petros shook his head at the chaos that having all these random Fae and Demons along with the fifteen people from the Pentacles in the room was causing. "Why don't I bring over the candidates, and you can get input on whether they are suitable or not? They have all been tested as having high potential for magic, but none of them have awakened their powers yet.

Yes, that means they are fairly young by your standards, but that just gives them time to train for their future positions as their power grows." He suggested.

Cassie shook her head. "We don't have years to train them, though. We can't be sending some fourteen-year-old Rank Eight negotiator to other worlds, no matter how cute she is."

King Petros frowned. "How long does it take the Pentacles to raise their Ranks? The books seemed to imply that it was a guaranteed thing, but they didn't really get into details."

Cassie and Ella looked at each other and shrugged. "Well we don't know how long it takes to get to Rank Eight, but the newest members, who started at Rank One, have risen to the power balance at Rank Six in roughly three months."

Most of the room went silent. They didn't realize that any of the Demons had been Rank One when they started out. They had just assumed that Wolfe had picked a bunch of Rank Five Demons and helped them advance to Rank Six in the next few months.

"Wait, who was Rank One?" Someone in the back asked.

"Nimue, the half Dryad, and Carmine, whose mana system was damaged in a failed assassination attempt before Wolfe cured the damage." Risa explained.

"Princess Carmine is here? I was just talking to her father in Nephrite a few months ago, and he didn't say anything about sending her off. I thought that she was still posing as a servant to her brother." One of the others replied, shocked at the news.

"I am standing right here, Norman." Carmine called, then raised her hand so he could see her.

Wolfe and King Petros took advantage of the chaos to open another portal back to the Palace. Petros called for a servant, who ran to get the candidates, and the backup candidates, as Petros had foreseen that there might be issues with the first batch.

There were fifteen of them in total. The first string, who were all much younger than Petros assumed Cassie and Ella would approve of, especially now that he knew they would reach full power in a year or less, and then another ten who were progressively older.

"Ladies and... well, the Pentacles are all ladies, aren't they? May I present you the candidates for your consideration." King Petros announced over the noise of the crowd.

A few of them were overwhelmed with horror, especially with the Demons in the room, but a few of them had managed to keep their poise, and one of them seemed transfixed with Rail's tail, as the Succubus was facing away from her and talking to Risa.

"Oh Em Gee! They are adorable!" The Faerie shouted, then flew around to circle the confused and terrified girls.

They had been told that they had an audience with the King and a foreign dignitary, but they hadn't been expecting a whole room full of random women, Demons and Fae creatures. It was frightening, overwhelming, and a complete shock to their sensibilities, which is what Wolfe had been hoping for. How they handled this situation gave a good idea of their character, and how much training they would need before they could do any sort of meaningful work as an ambassador, which was an essential part of their job as Advisors.

A few of them were overwhelmed with horror, especially with the Demons in the room, but a few of them had managed to keep their poise, and one of them seemed transfixed with Rail's tail, as the Succubus was facing away from her and talking to Risa.

Wolfe was going to warn her as she drew closer, but King Petros stepped in to intervene.

"I should give you a crash course in interspecies relations. Unless you're planning to flirt with the Succubus, you should keep your hands off the tail. The same rules as apply for the beastkin." He warned the girl, who Wolfe assumed wasn't more than twelve.

The girl blushed, and Rail turned around to see what the commotion was. A succubus tail had a mind of its own, or rather, their instincts directed it when they weren't paying attention to it. So, when someone showed interest in her tail, it not only began to wave alluringly back and forth, but it also emitted a little more pheromone scent to draw them in.

The people of King Petros' Kingdom had never seen or been exposed to it, and from what Wolfe could tell, they had very little resistance to the charms of a Succubus.

When Rail gave the girl a welcoming hug, the candidate blushed and became a bit weak in the knees, nearly fainting. To Wolfe and Petros, it all looked very chaste and formal, even for Rail, who was already quite businesslike. ŘÁNỗ𐌱ЕŠ

"It looks like there will be an acclimation period, but perhaps we could keep them all here for a week or two while the ladies make a decision? One day clearly isn't going to be enough, and there are only a few who I can see are going to have troubles with the local population." Wolfe suggested.

King Petros nodded. "I was quite certain that we did a good job in vetting the candidates, so it might not be easy, but the spaces are limited. Would it be possible to keep them close to you so that they have a chance to properly interact with the Pentacles and get to know everyone so that they aren't judged on only a few vague impressions?"

Wolfe nodded. "Of course. I will make certain that everyone has a chance to mingle, even if we have to cancel some of the planned events, or have the candidates tag along with different people every day for the next couple of weeks."

That actually seemed like a lot of fun. Like a 'take your daughter to work' day, to see what they were interested in, and what they were already good at.
