Legendary Broken Player - VRMMORPG

Chapter 843 - 843 - A Sanctuary or a Trap?

Broken landed on Aego’s deck, his boots touching the familiar surface with a sense of relief.

One by one, the crew members followed, climbing aboard with swift efficiency.

No words were needed. They already knew what had to be done. Without hesitation, they spread out across the ship, each heading to their designated roles, ready to restore order after the chaos.

Broken, however, turned his attention to the golem panel, scanning Aego’s condition.

There were visible cracks along the ship’s hull—and that meant one thing. They couldn’t sail back into the open sea.

Not yet.

With a sigh, Broken stepped inside the ship—

And was met with pure destruction.

Tables overturned.

Chairs scattered.

Decorations shattered.

The entire interior was a wreck.

Taking a slow breath, he absorbed the sight, feeling the weight of the storm’s aftermath.

He walked up to Ronan, who stood at the center of the chaos, calmly coordinating the crew.

Despite everything, Ronan looked completely unfazed.

“Ever been through something like this before?” Broken murmured.

“King, hahaha, sure—we’ve had shipwrecks before. Twice, actually!” He grinned. “But a storm that intense? That was a first. And yes, it was absolutely brutal.”

Broken gave a slow nod. “I guess the ocean really can’t be predicted that easily.”

Then, his eyes darkened slightly.

“And the monster that attacked us… its level was insanely high for a ‘normal’ sea creature.”

At that, Ronan let out a short breath, crossing his arms.

“Well, King, that wasn’t exactly a ‘normal’ monster. That thing was practically on the level of a Raid Boss. Normally, you’d need at least twenty Level 300 players to take it down.”

He smirked. “And our crew? Most of us are barely in the 200s.”

Broken hummed in thought.

Even he himself had barely managed to withstand a single hit from that thing’s tentacle.

Fighting that kind of beast in the middle of the ocean…

That would be a nightmare.

Even Aego, a golem ship designed for durability, had been wrecked just from the kraken’s grip alone.

How the hell were they supposed to defeat something like that?

Broken summoned Zepy, the flying golem, Mizuki immediately took control, guiding it high into the air to scan the entire island.

They needed to see the full picture of where they had landed—

And Broken wasn’t leaving without exploring every inch of it first.

After a few minutes, the island’s topography appeared on their map interface—

And yes, it was big.

Far larger than he had originally expected.

If they were going to explore on foot, it would take a lot of time.

Maybe using Polly to scout from the air would help cut down their search efforts.

However—

Before he could make that call—

Something caught his attention.

A shadow moved across the sky.

A monster.

No—

Multiple monsters.

Flying creatures soaring above the island, their massive wings cutting through the clouds.

And then—

One of them stood out.

A behemoth.

It was monstrous—

A massive lizard-like bird, its jaws alone large enough to swallow a person whole.

“I don’t think this is just a normal island… There are a lot of high-level monsters here.” Mizuki said, her tone light—

And then she giggled.

Broken shot her a look. “Mizuki, your definition of fun is seriously messed up. You see a giant sky monster, and instead of worrying, you’re excited?”

Mizuki turned toward him with an innocent smile, then let out another giggle.

“King… that’s exactly why we love sea exploration.”

She stretched her arms dramatically.

“It’s always unpredictable! You never know what’s waiting for you out there.”

Then, she sighed.

“Even though, yeah… sometimes we lose a lot of money, or come back empty-handed…”

She smirked and looked back at Broken.

“But now that we’re with you? We can finally explore the ocean without limits—especially with a golem ship as cool as this.”

She chuckled.

“If we had been using a normal ship, we’d probably have lost another one by now.”

Repairing the ship was going to take time—

The damage was severe, but luckily, Broken had brought enough materials to restore Aego.

For now, they decided to stay aboard for a few days—

Not just for repairs, but also to observe the weather patterns and investigate the cause of the massive storm that had nearly wiped them out.

As Broken, Ronan, and Mizuki analyzed the map, a strange pattern emerged.

The storm’s path wasn’t random—

It had formed a barrier around the island.

A massive wall of chaos, isolating this land from the outside world.

“Hah… this storm is a complete anomaly.” Ronan finally spoke, rubbing his chin.

“If this is what it looks like, then there’s a good chance it’s preventing anyone from reaching the island… or worse, keeping people from leaving.”

Broken narrowed his eyes. “Mizuki, did you scan how long the storm lasted?”

Mizuki shook her head. “No, King. It didn’t last long. Only a few minutes, actually. But we can try leaving once the ship is repaired.”

Broken nodded slowly.

That was one concern handled—but before he could move on to the next, Ronan suddenly grinned.

“Actually… I just had a brilliant idea.”

Both Broken and Mizuki turned toward him, waiting.

“What if we build a Temple of Resurrection here? And set this as our resurrect point?”

Broken’s brows furrowed slightly.

“A Temple of Resurrection?”

“Yeah, King. You’re definitely going to want to explore this island, right? If we set our resurrection point here, we won’t have to sail all the way back if we get caught in another storm.”

Broken thought for a moment.

Building a resurrection temple would take at least a week—

But it wasn’t a bad idea.

It would allow them to explore freely, without the risk of losing progress if something happened.

“That actually makes sense,” Broken said after a pause. “While we wait for Aego to recover, we might as well take this chance to explore the island further.”

Mizuki’s eyes lit up with excitement.

“Now that sounds like a plan!”

To manage login time efficiently, the team organized shifts. For the next two days, they would rotate between logging in and out, ensuring that by the time they were ready to move, everyone would be fully present in the game.

With that settled, roles were assigned. Some would focus on repairing the golem ship. Others would begin searching for a location to build the Resurrection Temple. And the rest? They would explore the island, gathering information on what this mysterious place had to offer.

But then, something unexpected happened.

Pawpaw returned.

The demon beast cat, who had run off earlier to explore, was already back—far sooner than Broken had expected.

And what did he say? That he was too lazy to explore alone.

…Seriously?

This was the same Pawpaw who loved wandering into new places.

And now, suddenly, he wanted to wait for Broken before going deeper?

That was unusual.

At the same time, from Zepy’s aerial scans, the reason became clear.

The monsters on this island weren’t just strong.

They were brutal.

Gigantic, savage beasts.

The kind that barely classified as “normal” monsters.

They were real monsters.

And if that was the case, then this island held something far more interesting than they had initially thought.

For now, the plan was simple.

Explore carefully. Avoid combat.

At least until they knew what they were dealing with.
