Broken was dragged violently through the deep ocean currents, the sheer force making it impossible to control his movement.
His vision was blurred, the churning water around him making it difficult to see. But as his eyes adjusted, he realized something strange—
It wasn’t completely dark.
Instead of the pitch-black abyss he expected, the underwater tunnel was illuminated by the soft glow of marine life. Strange, bioluminescent creatures floated around him, pulsing with soft blue and green lights. Even more fascinating, crystals embedded in the cave walls emitted a faint glow, reflecting against the water currents in a mesmerizing way.
Despite being pulled relentlessly through the tunnel, Broken remained surprisingly calm.
Good thing he had no problem staying underwater indefinitely.
If someone else had fallen in here, they would have drowned long ago.
Instead, he just let the current take him, almost enjoying the ride like a chaotic water slide. His body was spun, thrown, and twisted, yet he didn’t panic—he simply let it happen, waiting for the pull to end.
Still, he had no idea how long he had been tumbling through this underwater tunnel.
He checked his map—but the area was unregistered. No data. No location details. No depth readings.
Where the hell was he?
Then—
A brighter light appeared ahead.
Was this the exit?
Before he could react, the current suddenly intensified—and in the next second, he was launched out of the tunnel with insane force.
His body flipped through open water, and when he finally stabilized, his eyes widened at the breathtaking yet terrifying sight before him.
This place was wild.
Massive sea creatures roamed the vast underwater expanse, their enormous forms moving slowly through the deep. Some were serpentine, their glowing eyes scanning their surroundings as they slithered through the water. Others resembled colossal armored whales, their bodies covered in thick plating that gleamed under the faint light of floating crystals.
Strange fish-like creatures with transparent bodies swam in groups, their organs visible through their glass-like skin. Some had luminous tendrils trailing behind them, while others had multiple sets of eyes, shifting and blinking as they moved.
It was an alien world, hidden deep beneath the ocean.
As Broken was still taking it all in, he suddenly noticed something moving fast—
A shark-like monster, its sleek body cutting through the water at incredible speed, heading straight for him.
Instinctively, he shifted into a defensive position, preparing to dodge—
But at the last second, the creature simply swerved around him and kept swimming.
It didn’t attack.
Broken blinked. “…Okay.”
Apparently, not everything down here wanted to kill him.
At least not yet.
Broken stayed in place for a while, simply observing his surroundings.
The sheer vastness of this deep-sea world left him in awe.
The towering sea creatures, the eerie floating crystals, the massive open trenches stretching into the unknown—it was unlike anything he had ever seen.
He doubted anyone could reach this place the normal way. The pressure down here was immense—so strong that he was constantly taking chip damage just from existing at this depth.
Thankfully, his Health Regeneration was high enough to counteract the slow drain, keeping him stable.
Still, it made him wonder—was this why no one had ever explored the ocean’s depths?
If even he, with his enhanced stats, was slowly losing HP, then a regular player or creature would have been crushed long ago.
That only made what happened next even more unbelievable.
As he drifted through the open water, his eyes caught something—
A bright glow in the distance.
It wasn’t just another glowing crystal or sea creature.
It was something bigger.
Curious, Broken swam toward it, navigating through the water with ease.
And then—
His eyes widened.
His body froze.
His breath, though unnecessary underwater, hitched in sheer shock.
Because right before him was—
An entire underwater civilization!
A castle of coral stood at the heart of it all, its towering structure covered in glowing reefs and intricate, naturally formed spires. It wasn’t made of just one type of coral—the entire structure was an intricate fusion of various kinds, ranging from hardened stone-like formations to flowing, organic extensions that looked almost alive.
The city surrounding the castle stretched out beneath a massive, shimmering dome.
This wasn’t just a random ruin—this was a fully functioning city, hidden in the depths of the ocean.
And the most shocking part?
The people.
Broken saw them.
Dozens—no, hundreds—of humanoid aquatic creatures swimming through the city.
Their upper bodies looked human, but their lower halves had long, powerful fish-like tails. Some had shimmering scales covering their arms and torsos, while others had translucent fins trailing behind them.
Merfolk.
There were guards patrolling the outskirts of the city, holding long tridents and spears, their gazes sharp as they swam in formation. Others looked like civilians, casually moving through the city streets, carrying goods, entering buildings, or interacting with various sea creatures that swam alongside them.
Schools of bioluminescent fish darted through the water, while giant manta-like creatures glided gracefully above the city, their wings leaving glowing trails in their wake.
This place wasn’t just alive.
It was thriving.
A full-blown, hidden city, deep beneath the ocean, where no one could possibly reach under normal circumstances.
His thoughts spun wildly.
How long had this place been here? How had no one discovered it?
And more importantly—
How the hell was he supposed to get inside?

[SYSTEM ALERT: As the first to uncover Azur’Nath, your actions will shape the future of this hidden civilization. Choose your path wisely.]
Broken exhaled, staring at the glowing text in front of him.
Well.
That was one hell of a discovery. And the rewards from the system weren’t bad either.
The water affinity boost was somewhat redundant since he already had high underwater adaptability, but the faction interaction boost was the real game-changer. If this place was truly isolated, gaining trust would be difficult. Any advantage in diplomacy was invaluable.
Still, he wasn’t naive.
The system alert made it clear—his actions would matter.
And that was a problem.
Because in his experience, civilizations that were this well-hidden usually had a reason for staying that way.
Most places like this didn’t welcome outsiders.
Even if he meant no harm, even if he only wanted to explore, there was a good chance that the people of Azur’Nath wouldn’t see it that way.
He needed to be careful.
Maybe if he—
“TRESPASSER! IDENTIFY YOURSELF!”
A loud shout rang out from behind him.
Broken’s body froze for half a second.
Damn.
They spotted him.
He turned sharply, his gaze locking onto a group of merfolk warriors closing in fast.
Their muscular upper bodies were covered in intricate coral-forged armor, their long, powerful tails propelling them through the water at high speed. Each of them carried a trident or a spear, and the glow from their weapons suggested enchantment—these weren’t ordinary weapons.
Their expressions?
Not friendly.
Great.
So much for a peaceful entrance.
