Chapter 213: An Absurd Ending and The Desired Skill (4)
The Special S raid party members immediately scrambled to select the most expensive monster corpses after the generous offer Han-Yeol made.
This was the second time they were shocked after meeting him.
‘Hehe…’?Han-Yeol laughed inwardly after seeing the S Rank Hunters scurry around.
Did he do something stupid by making such an offer?
Not at all!
'Not having Porters means that they have to collect the whole corpse. In other words… they will have to take the useless parts as well! Hohoho!' he let out an evil laugh inside.
Most raid parties would bring a group of Porters to dismember the monster corpses and get rid of the useless body parts before carrying them out of the hunting ground, and then the factory would process these monster corpses once again.
In other words, the fact that the Special S raid party did not have any Porters meant that they were basically forgoing the first process and directly bringing the whole monster to the factory.
Of course, most factories did not mind even if a whole monster was brought, so not having any Porters did not really matter.
However, there was one huge reason that the Special S raid party could not make a name for themselves despite being made up of elite S Rank Hunters and a unique composition of no support crews.
‘Because they can’t hunt a lot,’?Han-Yeol thought.
Kwon Yoon-Ho was not Han-Yeol, so his skills were not going to level up no matter how much he used them. This meant that his dimensional space was going to be limited to the size of a ten-ton truck and was never going to expand.
‘Tsk tsk… Yoon-Ho would have been much more valuable if he entered a guild and acted as their emergency storage instead of forming his own raid party…’?Han-Yeol clicked his tongue and shook his head.
Han-Yeol had been influenced by Mujahid and Tayarana in recent days, and he developed a habit of looking down on people. This was the reason why he had come up with the idea to limit the Special S raid party in the first place.
Some might accuse him of being arrogant and proud, but Han-Yeol did not see any problem with it, judging by his status. He was soon going to establish his own major corporation that was going to dominate both the financial world and the Hunter world, so he considered this as an advanced lesson on how to be a CEO.
It might seem like Han-Yeol was looking down on Kwon Yoon-Ho, but he was just saying things as they were.
‘They might think that Yoon-Ho’s skill is good and convenient since it can carry ten tons of monster corpses and bring them directly to the factory, but it has a crucial flaw of restricting them from hunting to their heart’s content. After all, they will have to go back once his dimensional space is full. The irony is that they aren’t bringing any Porters since they don’t need them, but the Porters would be able to allow them to carry more since they would cut off the unnecessary parts.’
Han-Yeol shook his head at the irony. ‘They should at least bring a Manager and some Porters with them… Tsk…’
Hiring Porters and bringing them around was not some social responsibility the Hunters had. The Porters might be pushed around and looked down on by the Hunters, but they played a key role that allowed raid parties or guilds to hunt longer.
In other words, it was the Porters who helped the Hunters save time by hunting longer. The Porters were a vital part of the party that even Mujahid invested a lot in hiring well-trained Porters and Managers for his personal party. He hired them because their training and hardened bodies would benefit him in the end.
On the other hand, the Special S raid party might be composed of S Rank Hunters, but they were no different from ordinary people when excluding the fact that they were Hunters. They could not be bothered with gathering information about Porters, and most of what they knew about Porters was based on their own experience and the mistreatment they had been subjected to when they had been Porters themselves.
In gaming terms, they were the players that preferred to enjoy what the game had to offer rather than analyze every bit of the game like hardcore gamers do. Of course, this only applied to the issue with the Porters, as the Special S raid party diligently trained to improve themselves, which was the main difference between them and other raid parties that failed.
This was the reason that Han-Yeol decided to maintain a good relationship with them, even though his initial plan was to cut ties with them after gaining Kwon Yoon-Ho’s dimensional space ability. However, this did not mean that he allowed them to take as many monster corpses as Kwon Yoon-Ho’s dimensional space could handle out of gratitude for having obtained the skill. Rather, it was a well-calculated decision he made because he was looking down on them.
‘It doesn’t matter how many monster corpses they take, since they don’t have the equipment to dismember them,’?Han-Yeol thought.
An Ice Demon towered nearly five meters and weighed one thousand kilograms. In other words, a single Ice Demon was already a ton.
On the other hand, the Yeti and Snowman were a bit on the lighter side, but that still meant that the Special S raid party was only going to be able to take around eleven monster corpses in total.
‘They're so happy over being able to take just eleven monster corpses when there are hundreds of them on the ground? How foolish,’?Han-Yeol thought as he shook his head.
Mujahid's party had come fully prepared with a Manager, Porters, extra equipment, and tractor trucks. This was only possible as Mujahid possessed his own factory that processed monster corpses.
Some would argue that the Special S raid party could simply carry their own dismembering equipment, but most ordinary Hunters did not have access to such equipment. These tools were quite expensive and difficult to find, and the only way for ordinary Hunters to get their hands on them was to hire Porters through the Hunters' Association.
Hiring a Porter would cost around one and a half million won to five million won, depending on how dangerous the hunting ground was, and the Porters would borrow their equipment from the Porter Department of the association.
There was also the option of hiring a seasoned team of Porters from the association itself, but that would cost around six and a half million won to ten million won per Porter. Not to mention, the equipment and truck that the Porters would use were excluded from this price.
It might look expensive at first glance, but it was definitely money well spent when taking into consideration the time and effort the Porters would save the raid party. Unfortunately, it seemed that the Special S raid party was oblivious to this fact.
‘They have the potential, but they won’t grow anymore than this unless someone guides them properly,’?Han-Yeol thought before deciding to stop thinking about it.
“Kieeeeeek!”
Chwak!
Meanwhile, Mavros was still patrolling the skies and scouting for any potential danger lurking in the area.
‘There have been many cases of random dimensional holes appearing in hunting grounds, so we have to be alert and careful…’
Han-Yeol’s motto in life was safety first, and he had no plans on changing it now.
***
After three and a half hours, Mujahid finally returned.
“Hyung-nim!”
“Hey, Mujahid.”
Creak… Creak… Creak… Creak…?
The sound of tractor trucks reverberated in the surroundings as a massive convoy followed behind Mujahid, and all of these trucks had the 'Goblin' mark on them.
Whoosh! Tak!
Mujahid hopped down from a tractor truck and landed in front of Han-Yeol. “I’m back, hyung-nim!”
"Welcome back. Did you encounter any problems on the way?" Han-Yeol asked.
He had tasked scouting to Mavros, but whenever he felt bored, he would join in on the scouting using his Demon Eyes. However, during their reconnaissance, they did not spot a single monster within a ten-kilometer radius.
"It's quite strange. It's like all the monsters suddenly disappeared," Mujahid replied.
"I thought so too. We hunted aggressively, but it's unlikely we have exterminated them all," Han-Yeol said, feeling troubled by the silence that had befallen the Cheolwon hunting ground since Mujahid's departure.
"There have been reports of dimensional holes or rifts lately, so we can't let our guard down," Han-Yeol continued.
Mujahid nodded in agreement and shared, "Indeed, hyung-nim. I heard that a massive dimensional rift appeared in Egypt not long ago, and it caused a standstill in Cairo."
"Cairo? That's concerning," Han-Yeol replied, realizing the severity of the situation if a major city like Cairo was affected by a dimensional rift.
‘Well, I’m sure there was no problem since President Phaophator is over there,’?Han-Yeol thought with a shrug.
Still, the situation was undeniably concerning, especially since it had even alarmed the Egyptians, who were currently considered one of the rising powers in the world. This only reinforced Han-Yeol's belief that he could not afford to let his guard down.
"Do you have any idea why the monsters suddenly disappeared?" Han-Yeol asked.
Mujahid shook his head. "I have no idea. I mostly receive reports about these incidents, so I've never really thought deeply about it."
"I suppose you're not the best person to ask about this then," Han-Yeol said, chuckling.
They continued their conversation as they worked, and thanks to the fifty Porters and thirty tractor trucks that Mujahid had brought, they managed to finish dismembering and collecting the monster corpses by three in the morning.
“Yawn…!?I guess we somehow managed to make it in time,” Han-Yeol said while letting out a yawn.
During the entire five days they spent in the Cheolwon hunting ground, Han-Yeol hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. Being a Hunter didn't exempt him from feeling sleepy after staying up for so long.
"Yeah, you're right, hyung-nim."
"Damn it... I guess I won't get to sleep today as well."
"Hehehe, I plan to finish things up here and then go take a nap."
"You filthy traitor... Do you plan to abandon your comrade who fought with you on the battlefield?!"
Han-Yeol knew he couldn't afford to sleep right now, as he had to meet with the Americans later to pass on the monster pets to them. On the other hand, Mujahid was free to rest after this hunt, and that made Han-Yeol feel a bit betrayed, considering they had fought together for five consecutive days.
“The one laughing at the end is the true victor. Don’t you agree, hyung-nim?”
“HEY!”
Mujahid sheepishly grinned, intentionally annoying Han-Yeol.
Of course, they were just fooling around for fun, but there was indeed a hint of emotion mixed in their words...
While Han-Yeol and Mujahid had the luxury to fool around, the members of the Special S raid party were quite busy.
“Hiiik!?Hiiiik!”
“Argh…!?Why is it so difficult to sort these monsters out?!”
“M… My arms hurt…”
“I’m hungry…”
“Did anyone bring some food?”
“I still have some lunch boxes. We need to fill my dimensional space with as many monster corpses as we can, so let’s eat these now.”
“Yes!”
Kwon Yoon-Ho took out thirteen lunchboxes from his dimensional space, leaving three extra lunch boxes for the ten members in the raid party.
The Special S raid party members sat on the mountain edge, enjoying their meal in full view of Han-Yeol and Mujahid. Despite the darkness of the early morning, the surroundings were brightly illuminated by the floodlights Mujahid had brought to assist the Porters.
“Hyung-nim.”
“Yeah?”
“What should we do about them?” Mujahid asked, pointing at the Special S raid party members. He was essentially reporting their presence.
However, the raid party was eating quite far away, and they didn't see Mujahid pointing over at them.
“Hmm… I’m thinking about what to do with them…” Han-Yeol replied.
“Thinking about what to do with them…?”
“Yeah, I plan to hire them once I start my own corporation that will dominate both the financial and Hunter world.”
As an underdog for most of his life, Han-Yeol couldn't help but feel a connection to the Special S raid party, which was also an underdog. He recognized their combat potential and saw their potential for growth if guided properly, so he was contemplating the idea of bringing them on board.
“Hmm… I’m already looking forward to it, hyung-nim.”
“Look forward to what?”
“The corporation you will be making.”
“You already have your Goblin Group, so stop eyeing mine.”
The Goblin Group, owned by Mujahid, was not as prominent in the financial world compared to other established conglomerates. However, they were well-known among ordinary people for their ownership of an EPL football club.
“Hahaha! I formed my group just to hunt more efficiently! Business is just a hobby that I'm not really interested in. Besides, Yoo-Kyung is the one taking care of it, not me.”
“No wonder Yoo-Kyung looks so tired…”
“Hahaha! I feel sorry for him, but I'll never let him go!”
“You sound like those evil business owners…”
“I'll take that as a compliment, hyung-nim!”
Shin Yoo-Kyung, the one responsible for Mujahid's business group, would probably be infuriated if he heard this conversation between them.
“I can see a different kind of passion in your eyes compared to mine, hyung-nim.”
“Really?”
“Yes, hyung-nim.”
