MESMERIZING GHOST DOCTOR

Chapter 4540 Linked Feelings

Chapter 4540  Linked Feelings

As they were speaking, a loud rumble echoed in the sky, followed by a lightning bolt that split the heavens in two, accompanied by the intense thunderclap of the lightning tribulation.

Rumble!

The crack of thunder was deafening, and Feng Jiu, standing a hundred meters away, saw the lightning strike Mo Ze with precision. The sheer force of the strike sent a shock through her, and even from where she stood, she could feel the terrifying power of the lightning.

She watched helplessly as the bolt struck Mo Ze's body, the electric current, glowing blue, coursing through him visibly. His clothes were burned to ashes, and his defensive vest disintegrated under the overwhelming power, scattering in all directions.

The smell of charred flesh filled the air, and Feng Jiu's face turned pale. She instinctively stepped forward, but before she could take another step, Old Man Tianji's hand shot out and grabbed her wrist.

"Don't go."

His voice was grave as he looked at the scene, his gaze fixed ahead. "The power of this lightning is far too great. You cannot help him."

Feng Jiu's lips pressed into a tight line, her gaze still on Mo Ze as she silently retracted her foot. The hand hidden under her sleeve clenched into a fist, the tension in her body unmistakable.

The two of them stood in silence, watching the scene unfold. Days passed, but Feng Jiu remained rooted to the spot, as though her feet were shackled. Day after day, she observed the ongoing tribulations. Every morning, the wounds from the previous day's lightning hadn't even begun to heal before the next strike came, battering Mo Ze's already broken body.

She watched, helpless, as his injuries worsened each day, his body drenched in blood, but nothing she could do could change his fate.

Meanwhile, on the Floating Edge Immortal Island in the Mortal Realm, Hao'er emerged from his room to find Muchen and Muyue sitting together at a stone table in the courtyard, lost in their own thoughts. They were so absorbed that they didn't even notice him approach.

Pausing, Hao'er frowned and walked over, calling out to them. "Chen'er, Yue'er, what's wrong?"

Startled, the two children snapped out of their trance. Before Muchen could speak, Yue'er's soft voice, tinged with fear and helplessness, reached him. "Big Brother, I think Yue'er might be dying."

Hao'er's heart skipped a beat, his face changing at once. "Don't talk like that. Why would you say something like dying?"

"It's true," Yue'er replied, her eyes red and her head lowered. She placed a hand on her chest and continued, "My heart has been racing, really fast... like I'm going to die, Big Brother. What's happening to me and Big Brother? Are we sick and going to die? I'm so scared."

As her voice cracked, she jumped into Hao'er's arms, clutching him tightly.

Hao'er gently patted her back, trying to calm her. "It's alright, Yue'er, don't be afraid. Everything will be fine."

He turned to Muchen, concern in his eyes. "Chen'er, are you feeling the same way as Yue'er?"

Muchen nodded slowly. "It doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes my heart races really fast, and I feel panic and fear. After a while, it passes. But..." He hesitated, then added, "It's been getting worse these past two days. The feeling comes on stronger and faster."

Hao'er thought for a moment, then took their pulses again, but found nothing out of the ordinary. His medical skills were basic at best, so he couldn't detect any hidden issue. He was left more puzzled than before.
