Chapter 4714: Showing Their Skills
Fresh blood dripped onto the ground, staining the weeds trampled under the fierce beast’s feet a dark red. Muchen’s knife hadn’t delivered an immediate killing blow, and the creature began to thrash violently, desperate to throw off that little human clinging to its back.
Muchen clamped his legs tightly around the beast’s body, hugged its head with one hand, and with the other, plunged the dagger deeper. He didn’t dare pull it out, instead clamping the beast’s body even tighter and increasing the force in his hand. A guttural howling rang in his ears, and the fierce beast’s movements gradually slowed until, with a few final shakes, it collapsed with a heavy thud.
Muchen gasped for breath, sweat beading on his forehead. He climbed down from the fallen beast and checked again, confirming its death. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief. He quickly used his dagger to dig out the beast crystal before swiftly departing the area.
On another side of the forest, Yue’er walked leisurely. When she spotted a good number of low-grade spiritual herbs, a joyful smile lit up her face. She carefully picked them, storing each one in her interspatial ring.
It was midday, and some beasts were out foraging for food. A spiny boar with formidable tusks emerged from the dense trees and immediately spotted the little human crouched on the ground, diligently digging for spiritual herbs. Drool began to trickle from its mouth, and its breathing grew heavy and ragged as it stared with undisguised hunger at the little human.
Yue’er heard the noise and looked up to see the tusks-bearing beast, resembling a large pig, staring at her and drooling. She couldn’t help but blink, staring back at it blankly for a moment. Her mind raced. The boar was immense, with black fur that bristled like sharp spines, and its two sharp, curved tusks protruding from its mouth looked incredibly dangerous.
Her beautiful eyes quickly scanned its body, and she realized that this fanged pig would be very difficult to defeat in a direct confrontation. She immediately stood up and quickly backed away.
“Roar!”
The fanged boar saw her movement and let out a savage roar, then leaped forward, pouncing towards Yue’er.
Seeing this, Yue’er quickly pointed her toes, took a deep breath, and sprang onto a large tree. She looked down at the pig below, which was now circling the tree, attempting to break it down. Recognizing her precarious position, she used the momentum to jump again, landing on a higher branch. Only then did she pat her chest and let out a light sigh of relief. “Phew, that scared me to death.”
As soon as she finished speaking, a loud crash reverberated from below, and the tree shook slightly. Swaying precariously on the branch, she was startled into hugging the tree tightly to steady herself.
Looking down, she saw the wild boar repeatedly charging at the tree, causing large chunks of bark to peel off the trunk. Seeing this relentless assault, her beautiful eyes darted around, and a sly gleam, like that of a fox, flashed across them.
She took a slingshot from her spatial ring, pulled out an iron ball, aimed directly at the fierce beast’s head below, and fired it with all her might. The iron ball struck the beast’s head. Although it wasn’t a fatal blow, it was certainly painful, causing the boar to roar and bellow even more furiously.
However, after Yue’er fired several more iron balls in quick succession, she watched as the fierce beast raised its head and roared angrily at her. She pulled back the slingshot in her hand again, and this time, a pill flew out, directly hitting the fierce beast’s mouth as it roared.
“Yes! I hit it!” Yue’er clapped her hands happily, her beautiful eyes sparkling with a triumphant smile.
